Did this 3 minutes ago as SMN75/WHM37. 1/2 on it. Couldn't find any SMN solo guides on any sites so I went in assuming I'd be kiting as usual. Went in RR'd buffed carby'd and went it. Put carby on the Khimaira 13 and just kited up and down the ramp. about 2 minutes into the fight he annihilated carby and came after me. after I died he turned on Karababa. I got up and saw that she took the thing down about 50% by the time i had gotten back up. I didn't cure her fast enough so she escaped leaving me with carbuncle and Doom.
Second fight i did the exact same thing but was very careful to run as fast as i could to the other end of the ramp and cure or buff SS OR Blink only once per cast of carby because he rips through squirrels like nothing. got him down to about 75% then I took a dive and released carby. Summoned Garuda, and Predator Clawed him. took him down about 7% and then desummoned. and waited for Him to rip off my face. He did, turned on Karababa and I popped up. Started to cure bomb the hell out of her. if she got below 70% I used my one Divine Seal to bring her up. Thue just kept rotating Cure II and Cure III till he got a lucky shot on her and brought her to 48% and she escaped.
When Karababa runs I didn't have hate, so I summoned Fenrir and Eclipse bit the last 3% away.
No food or Yags used. I had an Apollo's Staff, Yinyang Robe, and an Evokers ring to keep my MP capped before I ate it.

Such a horrible picture
did this fight and was the only one dead by the end of it...

(we thought of partying after this was done XD)
anyways, we decided to fight this mob like a normal pt would. Found out it does the TP drain, after both SAM's meditate >_>. We fight it, Karababa does junk damage compared to us, and then it hates me after one WS...
So, it respondes like many mobs recently that want me dead, by using a move that'll take off half my life (Dreadstorm did 800+ to me ><), then immediatly double attacking me for the rest of my life, and then some...
Anyways, the PLD keeps the hate for the rest of the fight, even after the other SAM and MNK each 2h, and we win with me kissin dirt :P.
In the end: was it worth me eating a RR2 for the win above this prick?

i solo'd this the other day. i didnt even know i could, just heard u can just heal her and that's it. so i went as smn75.
Took me 1/5 just trying to get the hang of it, the win went like this.
Astral Staff = yes u need the defense bonus.
I have YYR and other such things enough so that with carby mitts, i still dont lose mp with carby out, so the astral staff came in handy so that carby could tank long enough for u to run up or down the ramp and recast when he died.
From time to time check her to make sure she's not dying, if she falls under 50% she will escape.
Keep kiting this way and u should be fine, take yag drinks if u need some mp help or ethers, dont second guess urself, always cast carby, even if it goes after her b/c he only hits her once and maybe twice and its back to u, she has like -100 enmity so she doesnt often pull hate for the amount of dmg she deals.
Keep in mind if u take him down to 30% or so and u die. If all members are dead, she gets pissed off. So she starts nuking with tier 1 spells for up to 2k dmg. Pulling MAB out of her taru back end. But i lost twice with the mob at 2% and she escaped b/c when i was weakend u cant cast cure3 fast enough, say 2 ppl die, then u can easily both cure her till its over.

Supposedly his accuracy is fairly poor; a THF friend of mine soloed him with an evasion setup with Au Lait, bloody bolts and a few Hi-Potions.
As I did not have THF or NIN leveled, I formed a party of 6 and we soundly beat him in under 2 minutes. Fighting a Skoffin in a merit party is probably more difficult, even though this guy has more HP.

No this is a TaU mission NM. It was pretty gimp too we beat it with 4 people with little trouble.
