At the fame checker the guy says:
Oh youre mecorx, i rememberr you, youre not doing too bad for an adventurer. Keep doing what your doing and bastok will come to recognise you or something like that, im saying this off the top of my head.

After the quest:
Hello there, Mecorx. quite a few people are talking about the things you've done for bastok.
you're becomingquite famous. Keep on doing whatever you're doing!

Strangely enough, it said that for jeuno before it said it for bastok :O

After trying to get this quest after Qiji's Revival quest, I finally gave up for a while. I improved fame substantially (a few new quests, but lots of runs for the "Mommy's Helper" quest) and finally came back and was able to get this quest.

In the end, I'm not sure how I feel about it. The reward is apparently 2000gil and at last check at Bastok AH (on Shiva server), the quest item (cotton gloves) goes for 5000gil...

I've put off completing it for now until I can afford the price of fame...

If you are willing to spend the time in tahrongi(I suggest at least lvl 25 thf or anything lvl 30 sub thf) go farming for cottons. They drop regularly and you can sell them well. The high lvl just helps in case you want to go cluster hunting too. Otherwise you could easy do this lower w/o worrying about aggro.

What mobs in Tahrongi Canyon drop the gloves? They are NEVER for sale at the AH.

Well, I'm a Level 20 Rank 3 Bastokan, and it took me 28 completed quests to get this one. I have not repeated any quests, so I would assume that those who got it with less have. Yes, I did check at 27, and still didn't get this one, so I went to do the Warp scroll quest and came back to find she would finally give this quest to me.

I finally got this quest after finishing I believe it was 26 or 27 Bastok Quests. From this and several others I have learned to STOP buying items before finding if I can do the quest yet or not lol. I wish someone would make a faq with # of quest fame written down.

2k gold reward, but they sell at auction house for more gold then that, and require a high crafting skill to make

Not sure how to obtain this quest. The stratagy guide says the requirement for this quest is to do the quest qiji gives you which is the hairpin. I have that quest done and still cant get this one. Any thoughts?

Once you have completed the first portion of this quest (Qiji's) you need to zone out of Port Bastok to get the second part (Romilda's) this rule applies to all multi-quest chains.

before youll be able to retrive this quest, youll need to do Qiji's quest first; he gives his wife an item. Cant remmeber off the top of my head.. ill post it in a sec

Probably just a question of fame.
I got this quest after doing the Brass Hairpin one. As did a friend of mine. Both of us have been fairly thorough with doing other quests, so have pretty high fame.
I'd guess if you can't get it after giving them the Brass Hairpin, you just need to do a few more quests.
