SummaryIlumida wants to light a candle in memory of her husband. Bring her one from the Temple of the Goddess. WalkthroughSpeak with Ilumida in Upper Jeuno in her house at (G-8). She asks you to obtain a candle from the Temple of the Goddess in memory of her late husband. Head to the Temple of the Goddess right outside her house and speak with Rouliette. After speaking to Rouliette you are given a second quest, Candle-making. Rouliette needs you to get a lanolin cube, which drops from the Battering Rams in La Theine Plateau. Once you have given the lanolin cube to Rouliette you can return to Ilumida to receive your reward. You are granted the title "Activist for Kindness." Quest Series

Just sell them by NPC they go for 690+gil to NPC, dont throw em away

can someoen please post the spawning points of the battering rams?
i've been faming rams. got like 5 cubes. did quest and there doesnt seem to be anything to do with the rest of them :-\

i got 2 cubes off the first two rams i killed. they were so easy to kill(38dgn/thf). I'm planning on doing the quest tonight, considering i've already done the hard part. I didn't know about this quest untill i got the drop and looked up what it was for. lol. but good luck to the rest who are still trying to get the cube.
Took me 4 ram kills to get it. Once I figured out where the rams spawned, it was cake. There was no competition for the kills, as it was 2PM during the day ;)
I easily soloed them as a 59BLM/20RNG, I think I used drain once to replenish my HP. Absolute cake, didnt need to cast any spells whatsoever.

ive spent months on and off fighting those rams, I'd say about 10-12 game hours and still havent gotten the cube drop, guess its time to get TH...
My GF got this quest, found and killed the ram as a 36 whm/blm, cube dropped first time. Drop rate seems wierd on this.
went one for one ram, simple no thf sub, killed in one hit with burst for 1k dmg

you dont actually need to get this quest to get the cube, i got it before i ever even went to jueno
I travelled to La Theine Plateauu tonight. I saw a taru killed a battering ram around those trees at G9. Later, I killed one myself at south east corner of E7. Then, I killed 2 more around the same spot. It pops every 10 mins...so i just stood there and waited. It works!

They may have made it easier to get, but I got one from a gobbie near Holla a few weeks ago. Not knowing what it was for, I dropped it. DOH!
She wouldn't talk to me when my fame was at the level 2 (second statement from the fame check guy), but by the time my Jeuno fame was 4 she wanted me to get her a candle (so 3 or 4 is the level it starts at, not sure which).

So how high does your Jeuno fame has to be because when i talk to Ilumida she won't sy anything about the candle.
Rouliette is inside the Temple of the Goddess , but I forgot to talk to Ilumida first . So I didn't get the quest . Gonna have to talk to her next time I log on . I thought I didn't have enough fame , but I just didn't read the directions right , lol . It took me awhile to find Rouliette , I didn't know he was inside the temple .

Yeh Battering rams drop
I've probably fought 30-40 of these guys, and I've yet to get a Lanolin cube. No thief sub, but still...

Edit: Didn't realize these only drop off of Battering rams/Lambert, I mostly hunt rams in Konschtat. But I've still killed around 10-15 of these. Guess I'll keep trying...

Wow...I am lucky. I am a 41Dragoon partied with an 11 WAR on the way back from doing a mission for him, and I saw this. He's like "OH NO!!!! AH!!!"
I kicked its ***.
The item dropped and I didn't know what it was, but I had asked for all drops in return for doing the mission. I took it, now I find this.

I received this quest and a quest from the cathedral with no Jeuno fame at all.

no im pretty sure you need fame to get the quest. i talked to here and didn't get it.
I may not be positive, but Jueno fame is the average of all 3 towns fame + Jueno quests that give some fame.

To get this quest I needed the Jeuno fame :
"Your name is mentioned quite often"
Mendi is the NPC in lower jeuno, who tells fame, he is in the middle under an umbrella at the seaside.

i was just running by and i fought it because it looked like fun, got a cube, the ram is near the path south of the rivine where ordelles cave is

1. neither battering rams nor tremor rams drop "cloth" of any sort.
2. if you were in the 20-25 range, lambert would hit you for a lot more than just 30 damage.
3. tremor rams and battering rams both have several spawn points, but there will *never* be more than 4 around at once, and it's a 10 minute period before the next spawn.
let's do some math. you said 21-25. you're gonna need at least 15,000 experience for that, and that's being lenient. BR and TR are level 23ish. so you're only going to be getting an average of 100 XP per kill. that means you'd have had to kill 150 of them.
so. in the BEST CASE scenerio... you would have 180 minutes to run around to each and every spawn area killing every ram as it pops. at an average of 4 rams per 10 minutes, you would have to average less than a minute per kill.
you couldn't even do that if you camped one spot and they swarmed you upon each and every spawn. and there's no way a JP WHM would stick around for 3 hours to PL your *** and hold your hand from spawn point to spawn point.
4. if you got those 150 kills you'd have gotten a hell of a lot more than a couple horns and "cloths". even if you had done every last goblin bag quest you'd have run out of inventory space after about 20 of them.

you missed the most obvious point of his lie. he said he got experience points, "210 to be exact". the maximum you can get off of a single kill, no chain, is 200. so unless he killed an EM or higher just before the ram, he couldn't have gottena chain. not only that, but i'm pretty sure the lowest exp you can get over 200 is 225, not 210.

Hahahah! I saw Lumbering Lambert at lvl 27, he was chasing a lower lvl, so i figured I'd voke it off and take it on. Soon as the fight began i popped mighty strikes, was spamming boosts the whole way through, countered about 12 of his attacks, and had at least 4 double attacks in the mix. Didn't even get him to half-life, he slaughtered me at lvl 27 War/Mnk, so for this person to say lvl 21? Must be a 4 year old trying to make friends.
