my npc has sword and its already lv2.. but i want to change it to another weapon (scythe) now... is that possible when i already traded 2 swords to luto? thanks in advance to whoever responded!
yes you can change weapon types at any time, the only restriction is the weapon level your npc is on. I've had liabelle switch from GKT to scythe, to polearm lol
Im on quest "Blessed Radiance" My npc was set to healer when I tried to go logging in Jungar; NPC caused a "Event Error" by casting a spell on me during logging and Now i cannot get key item from jungar. I got the other 2 places... but everytime I come back to jungar... I still cannot obtain it.
How can I restart the quest or fix this?
IF I talk to Luto she says 2 things: #1 "Anything new Happening?" #2 "I want to start over."
If I pick #2 ... Will that start the last quest over ? Please help ; ;
This link has done me good on NPC quest: For my above comment-I beat 2/3 with getting key item, but 3rd gave me "event Error" I tried going to glacers to see how that goes. I was able to con't. with quest ^_^
I don't know why, but maybe it's listed as a BCNM battle, instead of a quest. However, it is a very simple quest, with a difficult fight. Once you and your NPC are at least to level 50, go to Fei'Yin and make your way to the Burning Circle in Qu'Bai arena.
It is a solo BCNM fight against the kidnapper, who you only know as Mr. "???" at the moment. He will reveal his true form, and will fight you after the cutscene is finished. Your level will be capped at Lv.50 for the fight, but you don't lose access to subjob abilities (Thank God). Having your NPC on "Shield" combat type is helpful for this fight, but not required. If your job is a Damager (DRK, RNG, BLM, etc.) then you will definitely want one of the Shield battle styles.
The enemy will use the special attack "Blighted Gloom" on you, which your NPC has the power to dispel. Make sure you STAND BEHIND YOUR NPC as soon as you see Blighted Gloom start charging. You cannot interrupt this spell, and it does massive damage to you, and it is an Area of Effect blast. If you are standing behind your NPC, s/he will protect you with "Blessed Radiance", causing you and your NPC to take 0 damage from Blighted gloom, and then blasts Mr. "???" with 200-500 damage.
This is a difficult fight by all means. First, you have to make sure that both yourself AND your NPC stay alive. If you die, the fight is over and you loose exp. If your NPC dies, then the fight is over and you are removed from the battlefield.
I would advise that both yourself and your NPC be at or above Lv.50 before attempting this.
Once you've called your NPC/talked to it a few times at Rendezvous Points (~10 or so total, each gives you one "relationship point"), Luto will offer to pass along a weapon to your NPC.
To clarify, once Luto mentions that she's willing to pass on a weapon to your NPC, trade the correct weapon to Luto depending on what job style you are using. Since I have mine in 'attacker' mode, I gave it a Great Katana. This is perfect, as the NPC will wait until you have 100TP before it uses its own weapon skill if you are close to 100. I have been able to do many Distortion skillchains by following the NPC's WS with my own WS.
Here's more info about the NPCs, as well as charts for 'Intimate Degree' and what weapons you may trade.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. Luto never gives your weapons back.
Each weapon you trade to Luto will be gone for good. I've spent probably 300,000 gil on weapons for my NPC so far, (I've bought 9 or 10 for her) but it is definitely worth it. Every so often, even after your NPC reaches the max level, you'll be able to give new weapons. Every 10-15 uses of the Signal Pearl will allow you to give a new weapon.
#REDACTED,
Posted:Jan 09 2006 at 6:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I just received the Mirror Images Quest from Luto. I wonder if anyone has any experience with this Quest. I would very much like to hear your experience.
I'm just curious, as I haven't found anything on one this particular NPC quest; has anyone completed the quest called Blessed Radiance? I was able to activate it following the Chameleon Capers quest where you receive a tactics manual, and my basic understanding of the Blessed Radiance is that I have to gather three items (I forget the names, unfortunately) and take them to a lake in Beaucedine Glaciar, most likely to spawn an NM. Any information in response would be greatly appreciated, thanks! ^^
Here is the link to the Alla forum on NPC buddies and a great compliation of NPC-related info. Weapon upgrade order, Promy-NPC quest, NPC leveling info, etc.
gots a new quest from luto says "blightend gloom" says somtin about killing a slime in rangumont pass ima go look around if any1 finds out what to do post it plz^^
Completed the quest today. After you are done go talk to your NPC buddy and check the options to discuss. It let me tell him that he needed to add head-gear. The only selection was an Iron Mask so now I guess we might be able to tell him to add or change gear...not bad.
You could change headgear beofre the update, that's not new, it just wasn't activated until you used NPc a set amount of times. ^^ I believe this quest raises level cap.
You get the foods and give it to the leader in the library. then you get a cs. after that go to LUto in Upper jeuno then you get a cs. then go to port jeuno and talk to mithra near the npc that gives you signet. then you get a cs. after that you are done and "the bond between you and your fellow grow stronger." i dont know what that means but i think it might raise the cap of the npc i dont know.
i finish 1st part of new quest by giving food in Windurst Optistery (very expensive food ;_;) ... then i return to Luto and i start to look for the little girl Palometa (don't sure of name :( ) BUT i can't find her >< ... please help me out ... where i can find her ??? lol
I can't find Palometa either; it's driving me nuts. I subbed RNG and widescanned all of Port Jueno, so I don't think she's there. Perhaps she's in another port?
yes lol i also got the new quest and bought the 5 pieces of food now i have no clue what to do lol.............. help me out im a noob PLEASE!!!! lmfao
There is a new quest as of 10/10/05 (due to the Update) that is not listed. As far as I know you get the quest from her, go to Windurst Optistery, get a cutscene that says you need:
Loaf of White Bread Bowl of Whitefish Stew Windurst Salad Serving of bison steak Serving of icecap rolanberry Pot of San d'Orian tea
u say i can give my npc wepons ive gotten the cut scene about it from luto but the wepons. however when i try to trade the wepon to her that i want my npc to use she doesnt take it. are there only certan wepons u can give your npc?? and if so is there a list of these wepons somewhere??
The level 2 weapons are basically the next highest level item without any special properties or enhancements, it seems. For example, my NPC now uses a Two-Handed Sword. I expect that this trend will continue, although until the Oct 05 update they will only use a 2nd grade weapon.
I had the same problem, but the first one needs to be a level one weapon, keep experimenting with lv one weapons... {That's what the GM told me when I asked} Then if Luto asks you again for another weapon upgrade go up 3 or 4 levels for the next weapon and so forth.
This is the NPC that gives you the "fellowship" quests to obtain your own NPC. The first time you talk to her, you are sent on a simple quest: talking to people in Jueno. Depending on what you say, your NPC will look different. The second quest has you fight an NM in Eldieme Necropolis. Parties are allowed if you don't think you can take him, but he's not too bad. The third quest sends you to Sand'Oria, where you must do a BCNM 40 cap in the hut near the entrance of Ghelsba. This monster is soloable, but beware stun! After that, you recieve your signal pearl, which lets you call your NPC once a day. Talk to Luto every now and again to upgrade weapons or to start all over if you are unhappy with your current NPC.
