Introduced in patch 1.9, there are three versions of each grade of Supplements: Lesser, regular and Greater. For each type there will be three grades: Heroic or Less, Fabled and Eternal. Lesser Supplements (Heroic or Less) will work with items that are Common, Superior or Heroic. Lesser Socketing Supplements can be purchased from Remodeled Items or Medicine Merchants (under the Enchant Assisting Material tab) in Sanctum, Eltnen, Heiron, Pandaemonium, Morheim, and Beluslan. Regular and Greater Supplements are not yet available and will be added in a later patch.
Supplements are used like a catalyst that energizes the socketing process, making it more likely to succeed. The higher the level of the item being socketed the larger the quantity of supplements that will be consumed in the process. Use of Supplements does NOT guarantee success! An especially successful application may consume fewer Supplements than stated.
