A long time MUD player, starting out in Simutronic's Modus Operandi when it was an AOL exclusive, Tovin has long been a member of the MMO community.
Tovin started her work in community management in UO as a player who spent 95% of her in game time sitting in the Counselor Halls assisting players. She set up the halls with food and clothing, chairs and games, and would replace it whenever it despawned. She leveled healing, spirit speak (to assist dead ghosts who couldn't figure out how to rez), and made the hall her home.
One day a red robed one (GM) actually took the plan and created the halls the way they look today - locked down versions of Tovin's original hall. A lasting testament to how players truly can make a difference in these worlds we play.
She tried to assist with the Sonoma player towns of Oasis and Calendryll (as Kellis Mayan), but the city owners at that time had no interest, and all attempts to create interest waned quickly.
Tovin was accepted into the UO Counselors Program and participated as LadyJade on the Catskills server. She remained on call for the Sonoma Counselors who needed her to login and attempt to assist new players without taking advantage of this. She spent nearly 40 hours a week (going so far as to quite her job....ouch!). She moved up from Counselor to Assistant Senior Counselor, and when she moved to the Oceania sever when it first opened, became a Senior Counselor. About this time, the program was becoming more and more corrupt, and her attention waned. Before her official promotion could be decided upon, and rather then learn the new systems being put in place which were counterproductive in helping players, she abandoned the program.
Tovin later went to the Stratics Network, volunteering on the EQ2 team while that game was in early alpha, before becoming news manager for the central area as well as assisting with exclusives and other odds and ends.
She came to Allakhazam in October of 2007, and now focuses less on community management and more on obtaining exclusives and fawning over developers she loves at every opportunity.
She's played many MMOs, subscription, graphical, text, and F2P. and she maintains that each one contains at least an element of good.
