Vana'diel Bestiary: Nunyenunc  

Happened across this guy yesterday morning while running around the area in duo killing everything for a few extra levels (was 11 MNK/WAR at that point, lvling MNK for subjob) with an 11 COR/WHM. My partner attacked without realizing what it was, I ran over to help, and 5 minutes later he killed my partner just as landed a critical for the kill. I got the drop since my partner died - luck, once again, on my part, due to the fact that I had 5 hit points left.

Killed him yesterday. he spawned right next to Signpost along the path.

17 BLM tarutaru/ no sub, average++ gear, all magic skills uncapped

Used 2 Hi-pots and Manafont and barely survived.

Started off with ES + Bind, lasted about 10 seconds
enagged and nuked like crazy, MF'd 1/2 through fight.
Second bind didnt stick.
Won with about 50 hp left.

I would recommend being at least lvl 18 to fight it. or being 17 w/ all capped skills, and with potions ready.

This is all coming from my recollections of a pretty rapid fight but I’ll try to keep it accurate, short and pertinent. Yesterday I went to camp Nunyenunc as a 41Bard/5Rng w/ virtually no chr gear and no +skill gear and was joined by a 60+thf/rng so I figured I’d come back another time instead of camping against flee/widescan/steal . Around 1:00 last night I returned and the pop only took about 15 mins. The mob didn’t hit me once at my level with a nerfed sub even though some of the mobs I fought to kill time did. Also, wide scan was only helpful in finding placeholders as Nunyenunc appears to have a pretty limited spawn area and had already aggro’d me or linked something else I was training by the time I knew it was there. Lastly I didn’t sing too many song because I didn’t know what to expect from this nm and I preferred to get the fight over with quickly but not 1 of my foe requiem III or II’s or my horde lullaby (which was intended to stop the other mobs I was fighting at the time) stuck. This is one of the first nms I’ve camped successfully so forgive me if something I’ve said is already common knowledge. 1/1 on the drop and I hope this helps anyone who’s going for the wand. Only took 30 mins for it to spawn. Though I wasn't the only one camping it o_O;

It spawned in (H-5) next to the road.

Wanted this wand for leveling my WHM, was at level 11 and killing everything around for experience points, then I see Nunyenunc, poped a tactics pearl and me n my NPC which is soothing healer killed it with very little effort

I was levelling my BLM (BLM 10 since I just started the game back up). I saw him, tried to take him. I lost. My Home Point was at the Outpost in Saruta, and there were two guys there, so I asked them to come help me kill him. They did, and the wand dropped, but they had one guy as the Quartermaster, so he couldn't trade it to me. We didn't know. :(

Last night I was choco'ing my 26WAR/12MNK over to Giddeus in (a vain) search for a chest key to complete the Kazham Airship Pass. I was in I-5, just north of the road, tab-spamming to pass the time when I saw this odd name pop up. Not having spent much time in the Windy area, I figured it was a common mob but checked it to be sure and hot dog! Impossible to gauge!

I hopped off the choco, Boosted and dropped Berserk which was, as you can surmise, completely unnecessary. It hit me four times for a total of 7 damage and my Neckchopper and I took him down in 4 shots without any food buffs. I figured that he'd have a crap drop so I did a quick search of the area while fighting and couldn't find a single player who spoke English to /inv.

So now I've got a Rare/Ex wand that I'll never use. I figure that I'll either trade it in to the next R.K. I find our maybe sell it to a merchant for a cool 500 gil to recoup the chocobo ticket out to Giddeus...

I went out to the outpost after camping spini for about 7 hours, did a wide scan. walked over and killed it. i would say camp time for me on this NM was about.... 8 seconds.

Can someone tell me how to find the place holders please?

strangest thing happened to me today on 10-25-06. i was waitng for the pop and after an hour of kiiling everything around i finally saw him claimed him and killed him. NO DROP, of any kind.:( i already have the wand but was trying to get it for a friend. im on alexander server, lvl 27 whm, it was on windsday full moon 98%. so im 50% on the drop so far.lol thought i would share. good luck guys.oh and i used dia on him once then hacked him the rest and i used seraph at 300%.

Keep towards the Outpost. PH's Spawn about every 3 mins I would guess. Took about 1 hour to get mine. Don't forget the 2 PH's North of the Outpost either, but most likely will spawn near OP. Drop is 100% btw. Good Luck!

I camped this about a week ago. I killed a whole flock of those stupid crows until about 3 hours into this hunt I was going to give up and as I was walking back to windy killing everything in site out of rage, what do I see but this guy right near the Outpost. I take him for all he's worth hitting him with a thunder and a nicely placed blizzard and BAM hits the ground and I trample over his lifeless body waving my Pilgrim's Wand in victory. Yeah, btw was 49RDM/24BLM so it was a little bit of an overkill...but it was fun.
