imma tell u the best way to make sure ur npc lasts long enough to do this first goto Jugner find a logging point cause this is the hardest area to locate one cause they can be anywhere once you find it call ur npc using the signal pearl chop the tree when u have the item tele to mea goto the maze find a point dig it up then tele mea again to save more time run to Giddeus with out a chocobo find ur point harvest it then tele to Xarcabard from here run to the glacier goto the pond and u should even have sum time left to kill a few mobs if ur lucky so its not a complete waste gl and i hope this wasnt confuseing.

SummaryPalometa still lies in cursed slumber. You must find a way to save her! WalkthroughFirst, go talk to Luto Mewrilah. After she comments you about Palometa and the preparatives to cure her you must go now to Lower Jeuno. Once in Lower Jeuno go to the Neptune's Spire and touch the Neptune's Spire door at (J-7) Here you will get a cutscene. After the cutscene is done, make sure you have your Signal Pearl and your Tactics Pearl fully charged because you will need to call your NPC at least 3 times. (If you dont have your Tactics Pearl and just your Signal Pearl, then you will need to take 3 days RL to finish this quest.) You will need to get 3 items with your NPC: Glimmering Mica, Mistroot and Lunascent Log. To get each item you need to bring with you a Pickaxe, a Hatchet and a Sickle. The items are obtained from the following places, in no particular order:
Make sure your fellow is present and near the excavation/harvesting/logging-Point when you try to mine/harvest/log, otherwise you will not get the key item If your fellow is a Healer/Soothing Healer give him/her some time while he/she stops buffing, or you will have some problems with not having your fellow mining/harvesting/logging with you at the same time causing you to lose the excavation/harvesting/logging-Point. Now that you have finally obtained the 3 Key Items you must go to Beaucedine Glacier and find the Mirror Pond located at (J-7). Once the cutscene is done head back to Lower Jeuno and touch the Neptune's Spire door at (J-7) once again. Another cutscene will follow this. Ok, so finished the preReqs and Luto will only comment on girl by saying she still hasn't opened her eyes and wishes she knew how to help her. Tried going to door and it just says "do not disturb". I've gone through three tactics pearls since I completed the Blighted Gloom and I still haven't got it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yea I agree. My home town is windy and me and my npc started at the op shack in sarb. ran to giddus then tele'd to mea took care of the maze area tele'd to holla I belive it's called and ran to junger, and still had extra time to use her. But must point out for the ones that just got your npc or don't use them often. It might not work as well because your bond with your npc needs to be at least decent.to have the time to do all this, or you'll have to recall her/him. so good luck to ya :) oh I was at least 45whmg/?blm
Now that your NPC will follow you if you cross zones or regions you can call in Maze of Shakhrami > Teleport-Mea > Giddeus > Teleport-Holla > Jugner Forest. Just remember not to get on any Chocobos >.>

If you sub blm you can use escape to get out of the areas to get farther faster.

Warping won't really work if it sends you into a city: your npc can't follow you there.

As long as you are using THF and have flee availible it is possible to get all three key items in one call on your signal pearl... you need to get lucky with the H,E,L points though.
first i went to the mazre and got a point right at the entrance, i called my NPC and got the first item... then i ran to giddeus... hitting flee any time the counter hit 0. hit the harvest point for the item. then came the test... i had to go through 9 zones to get to the forrest from giddeus (this can be avoided by doing giddeus then the maze then the forrest. i found a logging point at the farthes south point and got the item just 2 minutes before my NPC called it quits on me.
if you are going to try this in all one calling, remember to hit flee as soon as the counter is reset and no using a chocobo and no fighting. however a lot of this is based on how lucky you get with your harvest points too

I just finished this quest. It is easy for lv74Drk/sub lv17 BLU (for fun)...lol. In regard of telling who is the real NPC, the left one is the real one. Notice your npc (the one on the left)'s mouth is moving when saying 'Oh My Vana'diel' ..when he/she saw the fake self.
The fight was peace of cake. My npc is only lv39 and I think she( a sexy mithra) deal some dmg on it. The nm is kinda weak. Killed it in 1min.

When I talk to Luto she just says something about not knowing what to do to help the girl. I also talked to Doctor M and he said I am fine, no need to see me. Am I doing something wrong? I have the previous quest in my completed log. Is my NPC relationship just a little too low? Can anyone help me on this? Thanks.

I Go to the Door. and Click on it and I don't get A CS so what am I missing. I did the others before this. Ur help would be appreciated.

Its the door inside across for the lady that sells riceballs.
The "Mirror Pond" selection at G-10 is for a different quest. It only appears when it's not snowing. You aren't required to have your NPC out when you select it for the CS.
There was another cutscene after I completed this. It seem like it was just for more story background.
I'm not going into full detail and spoilers, but go to the pond at G-10 with your NPC out, and you'll meet a elvaan woman with a tale to tell.
