SummaryWhite mages of renown will be given a blessed item for the war against the undead. But first, they must bring Yagudo holy water to prove their worth. WalkthroughNote: You must have completed Messenger from Beyond - WHM AF1 to begin this quest. Start this quest in Chateau d'Oraguille by checking the door to Prince Regent's room at H-8. You will be asked to obtain Yagudo Holy Water and a pair of Moccasins. Go to Castle Oztroja, which is on the east end of the spine across Meriphataud Mountains. Once inside the castle, pass beyond the large switch door on the second floor and kill Yagudo Abbots to get the Yagudo Holy Water. Then get Moccasins either by making them or buying them. Then head to Northern San d'Oria and give both items to Narcheral at M-6 upstairs in the cathedral. He will reward you with your Healer's Duckbills. You call this quest easy? i tried as a whm and went to both Zval bailys and Castle oz and i cant even make it to the yag abbots

This was so easy, I solo'ed this as a lvl63 DRK with no trouble at all

Well the hardest part about this quest, ws getting help, It was only 11 pm for mebut no Ls members were on so off to jueno to shout. 5 hours later a nice 61 Thf offered to help me(Thanks again Milijana!). We headed off to Castle Oztroja, I was 51 whm so most thing were Too Weak for the first 2 floors, When i saw the first Easy prey mob i jus invisd, We got to the door with the handle box thing on the wall Thf opened it, and their staring us in the face was a Abbot, we killed it no drop but did get 20 xp =P. We walked down a a little further and came to a set of stairs, and at the top was a lonely Abbot all by his itty-bitty self. We killed it and got the water. Yay me! now I just need a pair of moccasins..none selling anywhere on my server atm /cry.

I was at the castle tryin to get the water for these boots, my level 75 whm friend and me(50WHM) we killed about 4 yagudos and we started to yell at them and junk, so we were kidding around and I said, I'll cast holy, and you cast water and it should drop! so during the battle i casted holy and she casted water II, and it actually dropped, I thought it was pretty funny...

Did this as 50 WHM with a 63 PLD. Almost got killed at first by links ~.^ Got the water and white cloak though on second drop. Easy.

Holy ???? this was too easy, not even looking for the Yag Holy Water (actually doing PLD AF2) me and my party were killing Yagudo's just to gain TP. Like the first 2 we killed I got the Holy Water off of. Got the moccasins for like 10k at the AH. Well this is easy compared to the PLD af quests lol. Just have a pt of lvl 60+ with ya (pt of 3) and you will do fine^^; Good luck to everyone who tries this.

Duoed as whm 50 with a 72 blm. Took 9 abbots to get a drop. 1:30 hours. ; ;

My Lucky hide got the drop,while doin AF for my rng *.*,had to clear room a little before beret AF with a friend,and got drop on1st abbot ^^

You have to be WHM for WHM AF. It is job specific armor. BLM has a set. Look in the Artifact Quests for BLM armor ^^

When I did this, I had a hard time finding a pair of mocassins, so I tried trading Narcheral a pair of Mocassins +1. This does _not_ work.

I did something silly the other day... While cleaning out my inventory while in the field, I accidentally tossed my duckbills out.
While I had read beforehand that this quest is repeatable, I went and found the items again in order to regain these, but the NPC (Narcheral) won't trade me. I even went to the Chateau to take to the Prince, but got the quest for the bell instead of this one. So, I was wondering how I can regain this quest, is there a way to "forget" past AF quests in order to redo them. That's just a rumor I heard.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

There is an NPC in Waag-Deeg's Magic Shop in Lower Jeuno that allows you to re-do Artifact quests. When you go in the door, he's on the left wall.
Not that he's hard to find, there's only 5 guys in there, and 3 are merchants.

Could somebody please post clear directions on how to get to spawn points of these abbots? I went on a scouting run yesterday, but got lost and got aggro. Thankfully I was able to Warp out. I need to complete my AF2, and I want to be sure I know the way before I enlist help. Thank you very much.

Umm could anyone from the unicorn server help me out a little i need gil and need to get my AF2 ( im not talking bout giving me gil ) like camping a NM or something im only 50
I went with a 75 PLD/WAR (thx again Vehante) to get this item and I couldn't believe how easy it was. The hardest (and longest) part was just getting to where the Abbots were. We killed 3 Yag Abbots and EACH ONE dropped the water. Crazy. I don't understand it.
Also, if you need the moccasins and there are none for sale on the AH, simply send a shout to someone who has at least 8 clothcraft and 59 Leathercraft and have them make it for you. Easiest way to get them.

Abbots are not the only thing to drop the holy water!
I was with a level 70 THF/NIN and a level 70 PLD/WAR
killin yag conducters and such for coffer key, and somewhere in there one of them dropped it, i know it wasnt an abbot. i remember it being an assassin, but we fought so many im not 100% sure which of the coffer key mobs dropped it.

Me, a 75 PLD, and a 57 MNK took down two abbots..the second one dropped, this was way easy. Then we telported out of there and i got my boots.. /hurray

Before I get flamed, let me start out by saying: I know not everyone have a high level BST. o.O
Anyways, I just solo'd my Holy Water with my 62BST. It took 1 HQ pet jug per Yag Abbot. The Yag's don't hit hard but their banishgaIII and such really hurt...not to mention their Holy. ;;

A WHM friend and I killed 10 Abbots last night with no drop. So if the patch messed up the drop rate, they have corrected it. We were beginning to think he did not start the quest correctly or something, however after reading the quest, there is nothing to it, and he has it started.
You don't need the quest started to get the Holy Water to drop. My LS helped me the other nite kill Abbots and got the drop after about the third or fourth one and I did not have the quest started.
I thin kthat the current update changed the drop rate to be 100%. I was in a skill up party and we didnt want to hassle with invis, so we just murdered everything in our path.

A friend of mine was in there killing the high level bard yagudo for Carnage Elegy I believe. He and his friend killed an Abbot and he told me they got the drop. I took the outpost warp, but didn't make it to Oztroja in time. However, I went there anyways and joined their party, 10 minutes later, the first yagudo abbot they killed again, a second drop.
So the drop rate they experienced was 2/2. Very common drop, most AF's should be like this, not a huge time sink like coffer hunts.
Now to get the next 11 levels to wear the Duckbills...

sneak/invis wore too soon and we got agro from the T and TV yags past the four lever door
tele-mea'd and sent the rdm for some oils and powders
second try (drk had to go)

the two war's used oils and powders and we camped in the room with the leeches, pulled one leech for war AF2 (*glee*) then pulled abbots as they spawned
got the water on the 4th abbot

Well i did this with a level 60 thf and my self a level 50 whm, that alone + hasted him, we killed those with FULL mp per a pull, and all i did was regen 2 him and we WEAPON skilled alot. it was fun really ^^, if a buddy wants to do that again, im gonna go do something like holy a few more times =P with my 560 mp =P
