Uses AE Sleep, Curse and Blind. Also uses an AE damage attack. When low on HP, he frequently uses "Trinary Tap", which will absorb three status effects. If you do not have three status effects, he will absorb an absurd amount of HP.

Tried this fight over the weekend with a decent set up
2 WAR/NIN, 1 NIN/WAR, 1 DRG/WAR(me), 1 SCH/WHM and a RDM/BLM

I was the only one with anima, used one at 75%, one at 50%, and never had the chance to use the last one. The pt bricked, it was aweful. AOE pwnd us all.....

After a fun time getting to the spire, and one fight gone horribly wrong, we owned this thing on our second try.

Our party was pld (me), war/nin, blm/whm, whm/blm, smn/whm, and rng/nin. Our plan was to buff up, use poison potions, and do an alphabetical order cycle to use our psychoanima. I went in and voked it to the left side of the room, and war/nin followed through w/ his anima. The mob was intimidated for a full 30 seconds and we took it down to 85% HP or so. After the mob started striking me, I sentineled, then used my anima and intimidated it. Right about now the smn gets out Ramuh for Astral flow and pulls hate on the first one, so I invincible and provoke to get the mobs attention. At this point the mob is around 50% HP, and starts to use TP moves on me. I crack out a hysteroanima as the white mage comes in to use his psychoanima. The mob sat there as we wore it down to 20% HP. The warrior and black mage 2 houred as the summoner began to ready his 2nd astral flow. However, the warrior hit it critically repeatedly and the black mage got off a bunch of blizzards and thunders, and the mob was owned.

Our fault the first time was forgetting to activate our anima, and the mob killed me w/ an AoE move that knocked 200 HP off of each of us. 4 zoned safely.

This guy isn't hard at all as long as you stick to the strategy of rotating your anima. A really good party can kill it without even getting hit if the anima are used effectively.

proms are silly easy if people know what to expect. Hi potions are cheap, tanks should have them (5+) and some +empty killer gear (hands and/or feet). The good animas for boss fights are farming in just holla from wanderers for one and weepers for the other, psycho and hysteros. Mages should have drinks. 2 healers or one and backup = easy fight. Good party = 2 war/nin, 2 DD (blm, rng, smn, or even sam), and 2 healers (whm, rdm).

The 2 war/nin need to keep utsusemi up by trading off hate and sometimes kiting when shadows are down. Utsusemi is extremely important because all the bosses can do a move that absorbs 250+ hp, making the fight long; if you are running, you can outrun this move so kite if the shadows are down. DDs do damage until the boss is at 30-40% (30 is better, with smns it can be higher) then the tanks and DD 2hr hopefully killing it. Otherwise, banish 2 with max divine magic is a good finisher from the whm(s) if just s sliver is left. Healers need to heal and keep drinks on. I can't stress enough about how much debuffs help so keep those on; paralyze, slow, blind, and gravity greatly help tanks with utsusemi. Benediction works great in a pinch but be prepared to kite. Keep blink and stoneskin up.

Bring 4-6 animas and use them when hate gets out of control or a tank gets low hp. <--- very important.


Dem: keep the boss away from casting mages. Otherwise, this is a pretty luck based fight. This boss can, rarely, do an AoE paralyze move so bring some remedy ointments.

Holla: EVERYONE NEEDS!!!! to have poison potions on AT ALL TIMES, holy waters also for curse; no stoneskin mages, you'll zzz with poison pots on. This boss absorbs defender/beserk/protect/shell/job abilities so don't use those; it doesn't seem to absorb food, contrary to what many people say.
POSION POTIONS! <--- READ THIS. EVERYONE IN THE PARTY. People complain way too much about holla when it's actually very easy, if not the easiest one. This guys spams sleep sometimes but poison potions make this guy a joke. Everyone should use a poison potion every 2 minutes, even if it hasn't worn off. The last time I did this, the boss did nothing but spam sleep and we laughed as it died horribly as no one was asleep. I know posion potions are expensive but you should only need 6 at most, more if you have a weaker party setup. Smns aren't good at this fight, see below.

Mea: Tanks need lots of hi potions (10 is nice) due to a -90% hp attack that goes through shadows. Gravity is really nice for this fight.

I've won these fights over 20 times now on 2 characters as war/nin, smn, blm, whm, and even brd. People just have to have decent gear(not expensive, but decent), some talent, and many consumable items.

As a side note: smns are highly overrated for these fights especially holla. Smns can ***** up 2hrs, avatars can be slept or killed, and 2hrs can be resisted. I prefer rngs or blms, even sams for fights because they can still do some damage even when the 2hrs are gone. In holla, smns are extremely poor because, when the avatar gets slept, the smn has to release and recast it (they can't wake it), interupting their 2hrs. Since this guy spams AoE sleep sometimes, avatars can be reslept after recast effectively canceling their 2hrs.

Summoners, if used properly, are awesome for any promy. If your party is competent and uses animas correctly, having your avatar slept shouldn't even happen. And any SMN that screws up the 2hr blood pacts, well.... that's their own fault.
We just did this fight last night. I was SMN and I brought out Ifrit right around the time our members began using Hysteroanimas (boss at about 60% health). The hysteros prevented the boss from doing his AOE sleep move. Astral Flow, Inferno, wait 1 minute, repeat. Melees did their 2hrs a little after the first Inferno. 2nd Inferno finished him off. I swear I heard a voice say "FLAWLESS VICTORY!" when it was over. ^^

click off stoneskin manually when you get slept with poison potion on, and the poison will wake you up. then wake everyone else who is asleep, and reapply stoneskin if you want.

I cant STAND this guy any more, 1/1 on dem, 1/1 on mea, so far ive failed holla 10 times. Always down to silly things like avatars getting slept, but my new pet hate is people who cant be bothered farming animas, i always bring my 3 along but most of the time thats all the party has. Promyvion holla has been the bane to my Blue mage career, i cant get to lufaise meadows to even attempt to get the spells.

Ok, just tried this guy, we got it down to about 10% health, but he went pyscho, blah~blah~blah, you get the idea.... Anyway, i went as NIN/WAR, but my pt told me not to use shadows, because Trinity Tap absorbs those... they didn't really seen sure about it though... :/ going by the screenshot of him, it doesn't, can someone clarify this for me?

so i've heard so much about this guy being hard and all that mess,,, blah blah blah my party went in (war/nin, war/nin, whm/blm, blm/whm, smn/whm, rng/nin) and kicked his *** easily.

We buffed up normally, made sure we all had three status effects on cause of trinity tap, literally passed the same reraise earring around so everyone had re-raise on, then proceeded to own him. Smn used Ramuh since its weak to lighting, astral flowed at 75%. RNG popped off eagle eye shot about 40%, and from there on we anima'ed it while both war/nin used mighty strikes. I'ld say we spent about 5 min actually fighting.

summoners use diabolos against this guy, i tried it and diabolos's 2 hour did around 500 dammage. also as a added bonus the NM's curse/sleep attack is resisted by diabolos everytime, diabolos does not get slept by this.

just broke the record for this today on pandy. 8 mins, 18seconds. He was really easy. Slow and paralyze worked well. He never even did his AoE once. I was surprised. Oh well i don't have to worry about them anymore because holla was my last one.

This guy droped so fast that it was allmost a disapointment. PT setup was 2 Whm/Blms 2 War/Nins, a Smn/Whm, and a Drg/war. Once agian as in my post for promy dem the drg was overkill and the 6th could be anybody. Each person MUST have at least 4 poision pots. If you do not keep your self poisioned this goob will walk all over you X.X. Once agian Smn pulled out Ramuh and played as if it was a lvl 20 avatar mini fight. Whm got out opf range and only helped when someone took Mega dmg or the 1st whm ran out of mp. Once agian Phyco played a huge role in this. Same tatic as dem, The melee wacked on it till 25% and then poed 2 hr as did the smn. When the mob starts to get cranky <about 45%?> we started phyco round. With poision up you will not goto sleep and this guys main weapon <Sleep and pick you off one by one> is useless. By far the easyest fight. Do this one first then do dem then mea.

Required items include poison potions, holy waters to clear it's Curse, eye drops for the melee, and of course psycho and hystero animas. When he starts doing Trinary Trap, start using the animas right away (have an order set for each use), then get rid of any ailments quick if he gets one off, other than poison. Not too hard as long as you keep your head together.

Did this the other night with War/nin war/nin war/mnk rng/nin whm and blm. Me and the other war/nin kited it back and forth. When shadows would wear, the other would voke it. Only one of us had poison potions, and they didn't come into play really until he was almost dead. Holy water wasn't really of any use, as when he cursed us, he was almost dead. Hystero and Psycho anima very useful. This method is kind of a slow death, but effective. I used a couple of high potions, 2 poison potions, and a few holy waters. Went in with a combination of Elvaan RSE and Eisen gear. Dual Wield Centurion Swords

I got two words for you on this one:

farm anima

If you don't do the work, you don't get the payoff. Simple as that. Get out there, go to the various Promyvions and find some anima material. Then use it in a specific order on this mob.

When my Linkshell went in to fight this vile **** beast we were so good that I don't think it even got off even ONE of its stupid "Trinary Tap" moves. It tried to sleep us a few times, we had poison potions on. Then we proceeded to stamp this bug thing back into the nether regions.

Our strategy: first 50% of hp we rotated use of Psychoanima. Anima does not stack, you must plan an order and then use accordingly. We rocked this and then when it got below 50% hp we spammed up our Hysteroanima (this prevents any special attacks from it hence NO TRINARY TAP!) in order and won so hard its not even funny. We win, complete shutout no KO's nothing.

We try him one time and died coz when he have low hp he drain so thats the battle plan:

First hunt for anima for all
after start the fight
and wait for when he is at 70%of his life and use anima 1by1
when he'll be at 30-25%of his life he will start drain so now make the smn or rng 2h go and use anima for killer and stun effect and so he aint have the time to drain life

How sure is this thing weak to lightning? Our BLM was doing crap nukes with Thunder and I find it highly suspect that it says all 3 promyvion bosses are weak to lightning. Plus the whole Leviathan doing a lot of damage to it...

Anyone got any definite information as to what it is weak to?

OK,we didn't have the starndard line up:
PLD/WAR, RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, WHM/RDM, MNK/WAR, and BRD/WHM. Soul Voice and double minuet did it. AND we once again broke a record. We broke the record for Mea, and Holla now.

I did this Promyvian last night, and I noticed something about it. Besides the Avatars getting slept and all, this thing is extremely weak to water. We had two SMN's on this run. One used Ramuh, and I used Leviathan. When it came time for the 2-hr's to hit, Leviathan's Tidal Wave did an amazing amount of damage while as Ramuh's... well.. didnt do much at all.
Anyway we lost, if We both had used Leviathan in the begining I think we would have won. **** that boss and them getting to 1%... then chaos lets loose and everyone starts dieing..

Anyway just thought I'd share this.

Last night, 6 of us from Children of Altana on Asura, not only beat this thing as our FIRST try, but got the time record!!! Here's what happened:

Party:
Hitokage - BLM/WHM (Me, and team leader)
Pletheria - SMN/WHM
Myna - WHM/BLM
Drusenija - RDM/BLM
Hypatia - PLD/WAR
Chibinekomimi - RNG/NIN

We got through the rest of the zones fairly easily - got to the end of the fourth floor when disaster struck - our rdm got agro'd something nasty by a Seether. We were *so* close to the zone everyone just said "RUN!" So... we did. I got agro'd by not only another Seether but a Thinker. RDM dies but I zoned - only to be dead on the other side. Everyone else made it fine.

We spent a long time getting the RDM to the zone safely. What we ended up doing was what Pletheria nick named "Round Robin Provoking"... Pretty much there was a thinker in our way everyone so someone would go out, voke it, lead it around the safe 'zone' near the zone, and between RNG, PLD, and SMN they kept it away until I safely had Dru tractored to the zone. RNG died at the end right next to zone.

Everyone got raised and ready. Now for the actual battle.

We went in and everyone did Re-Raise. SMN did Baraero (air-element Wrecker is) Barsleep, and Shell. Everyone did whatever they needed to be ready, mages got MP, everyone drank a poison potion and we began.

PLD went in, provoked, and everyone spread themselves out. After a quick test to see if it was really wind-element, SMN summoned Shiva. We easily blasted away at it until it was at 60%.

1) I used anima macro:

/p <insert snappy line> Using Psycho and Hystero anima now!
/item "Psychoanima" <bt>
/wait 10
/item "Hysteroanima" <bt>
/wait 25
/tell Pletheria USE YOUR ANIMA NOW!

You need a /wait 10 between animas because of throwing time, you also need to be right on the boss or you'll be out of range.

2) SMN did two hour - Diamond Dust
3) RNG did two hour - EES - 330 dmg
4) Pletheria used 1 anima, second missed.
5) RDM begins two hour-blasting.
6) Pletheria gets off second Diamond Dust.
7) BLM uses two hour to keep going.
8) RNG used both animas.
9) AMAZINGLY, everyone was shocked, including the SMN herself - Diamond Dust goes off a THIRD time!
10) We kicked that things tush, no one even came close to dying, no one got slept or even cursed, half people didn't use anima, and we BEAT the time record!

Hitokage, Hypatia, Pletheria, Myna, Chibinekomimi, Drusenija - 05/11/05 - 7 min 26 second. Go the all-girl CoA Asura Prom-Holla run. ^^;

Note: our original 'back up plan' was that if all anima macros were used, and it still wasn't dead, PLD would two hour (30 seconds of extra time) then after that we would start using terroanimas.

Items brought (by me): hi-potion, hi-ether, cookies, pies, re-raise, 2x yag drink, 2x juices, 8x poison potions, 2x holy water, 3x anima.

Things used: 2x anima, 1x poison potion, hi-ether, re-raise. ><

We were so nervous about the boss we didn't do ENM. We should have. -.-;

Rheywolf - BLM is a glass cannon. Sure, they can MB Freeze on a slime for 6,000 damage. But it takes the average beastman 3.5 seconds to disembowel a BLM and unceremoniously defile the remains.

I have done all 3 promy and a ton of ENM now. I have found that SMN actually arent as good as they are cracked up to be on this guy. Try a pt of Rng Rng Blm Blm Pd Whm if you are having trouble w/ summoner pt's. Hope this helps

We brought it down and was not really that hard, only one time the tank's HP was in the danger area.

my pt and i went in on this cause i was board of spendin tons of gil lvlin leathercraft :P
anyway we went in with:
whm/blm
smn/whm
war/nin
thf/nin (me)
blm/whm
rng/nin
on first lvl of the promyvion we allianced with another full pt and worked our way up pretty easily
we got to spire after completely racing across 4th floor
healed up discussed our plan(our downfall, it wasnt too good cause we had 3 anima total for every1, 2 on the war 1 on the rng)
so we go in utsusemi is up mages food up no buffs for anyone cept the food on mages and utsusemi and rng starts off takin hate so i SATA off war which fails cause rng cant take enough hate....<<.../sigh, and SATA fails cause it turns around, ok so we dukin this sucker to 60% and everyone starts to freak (i now suggest 2 tanks 3 DD 1 healer)
so every launches 2 HR and all anima ;;(bad, wait til 50%- at LEAST for a FEW 2 hrs and then at 30% launch others) so 2 hrs launched, rng dies after EES then smn avatar dies then war dies then whm then me fleed around the room for blm to survive XD, it was fun fleein around that sucker...."Can't Touch Dis XD"...and blm escapes and i die ^^, so everyone apears out in front of bcnm web and we all fall down dead and the others pt laughs at us ;;,.....so they raise us and they go in XD 3 min lata i get a tell sayin "we died ;; and we all hped" (proly cause they knew we'd laugh at em)
we tried twice more but it was hopeless,..(no anima or 2 hr cept mine which gets wasted on last 1 ;; or items"
Problems:
1. barely any items, NO poison potions ;;, no holy water or potions for HP of any kind, our blm had 1 melon drink -_- and our smn had 4 orange juice << and 1 Hi-either...THAT WAS ALL...
2. barely any anima or knowledge when to use the anima(was all spammed at the 60-50% health mark, first battle)
3. i beleive a 2nd tank is needed so i may go thf/war << or be ma blm next time instead of thf
4. our position of people was bad, tank was fightin near the entrance where ALL mages were and rng was right next to mob << and of course me(thf) and war were meleein front lines=bad/terrible cause of AoE blind/curse :P / weird paralyze thing << = uggg...

ok so bring potions for EVERYONE(saves whm from hate) recommend havin 2 tanks(war/nin are best), bring holy water for melee(hopefully mages far enough back), mages have 2 hi-eithers and 5 YAGADO drink not crappy orange juice -_- (mp goes up faster)
