Valkyrie's Mask  

0/2 on the mask. Have seen th NM spawning at K-5 and J-7. Got the Rapier both times..

Claimed Ga'Bhu Unvanquished 1h28min after the second spawn and got him to drop the mask

I use this mask on my Blue mage. I love it. The little MP and attack are a nice addition. I'm posting mainly to add that Blu can use this item since it hasn't been updated yet. IMO also it's the best mask until AF at 60 for Blu.

i have a lvl 51 sam and im thinking of buying this mask,would it be a bad move or should i stick with my emp hairpin

Ive out dmged drks with the mask while ive never had one. Drgs hit hard enough with it.. so this really isnt a needed mask anyways.

Currently on my server this mask is going anywhere from 1.2 mil to 1.5 mil. I was contemplating between this one and Walkure Mask. But since there was none in, i went ahead and got Walkure's instead, and so far i am loving it, along with the rest of the gear i got for my drg X-Þ

Can I solo as a THF60?, i want this mask for my DRG which is close lvl 43 but I dont wana buy this thing on AH, ts a little expensive (at least for me), so, do u think i can solo it if i get utsusemi and bloody bolts with me?

I started to camp this guy last night before my next class started. My drk just got to 43 and i wanted to really out dmg my brothers drg that i party with cause he has like a ton of att gear. I hunt for like an hour but then i gotta go to my next class. I come back about 4 hrs later to find a lvl 70 bst/whm camping the thing. I was a lvl 70 smn/thf cause i wanted to get the drop but i had nothing to pull with cept carby. This guy has charm and dia, no way i could of beat that. For some reason i stayed incase i might be in the right place at the right time. One quadov elder spawned and he claimed it right away with charm but it was just an elder. I walk over to the top right part of the spawn spot and there he was. Carby got to him and murdered him in under 2 mins. I got the mask and as you can guess that bst was pissed. Called me a sales con? I told him ive been hunting this guy for weeks and my drk needed it and he said "And i need a haulberk" Then i told him that i plan to use it sounds like you just want to sell it for the money. After that he went silent. I didnt care much let him be mad at me, i didnt steal it from him right out from under his nose i just got lucky. First come first serve right. And i plan to use this till i get my af helm then i might sell it.

ok heres my 2 cents drg n drk are equal drg can be better then drk only if they sub whm n for the mask im a 44drg n was wonderin if its really all that great? i mean im on garuda server n i hardly c any1 wearing it but thats just my opinion

ok all you people comparing who does more damage drk and drg are retarded. I doubt you spent the time to actually figure it out... way too many factors. weapon delay, abilities like jump and souleater can be factored also how often i stick my aborb spells makes a huge difference. as 56 drk, yes i hit harder per strike than a drg, but drg can use jump fairly often for a nice amount of damage, and sometimes drg can use meat dishes in pts while a drk must use sushi, because drg have a better natural accuracy. both are really the same thing in a different package. not to mention drk are also useful for debuffs. But on the topic of this mask, valkyrie is definately better for drk, where as if i were a drg, i would use walkure because its cheaper and +1 attack is neglegable.

I just payed 720k on Gilgamesh for it.

This item is also fairly good for any Red Mage/Ninja who intends to solo or do Ballista. If you are going to party this is far from a must have, but if you're going to solo the +attack is nice (I'm a taru) and +mp is never bad. The way I see it, a 50 rdm/25nin with Brigandine +1, Valk Mask, Red Cape +1, Buzzard Tuck, Duel Rapier, and Magic Cuirass in addition to some other standard gear with capped skills would destroy quite a few other jobs.
For soloing this mask kicks the buhjeezus out of Electrum Hairpin. 10 more HP, +attack, and only 15 less MP. (Yet again, I'm a taru, MP>HP)

in this post i will talk about the mask and the drk/drg debate im warning u now so if u dont wanna hear about it dont read ne further past the mask info....

Valk Mask
i am a 56Drk/28War I use the Valk Mask.. The Valk Mask does come in handy, an extra 7 atk is coo, however bein a galka i dig the 10 mp more..(dont knowck a glka drk till u see the hp i got left after souleater :) ) i need that xtra mp to help out wit stun, absorb, etc. this guy pops around the area that it says on this site here is a link

however (and i might be wrong here) for a Drg id say camp this mask and sell to buy Valk mask) u dont need the MP so the walk mask gives u +6 attack and +15 hp

now on to the debate:

DRK/DRG

I will remain as unbiased as i can.... I do not get a chance to pty wit many drg.. cause my fav pty set up is drk, rng, blm rdm or brd whm pld
however i have ptyd wit a few drg well equiped and i must say that we hit for about the same wit no buffs..when we both use berserk we also hit for the same...no when my berserk wears i bust Last resort and i continue hittin for what i hit with berserk while they hit a few less than me...(for the record drks SHOULD use souleater when its up) u have to know when to use souleater never on the first mob since it doesnt matter how fast u kill it..i usually wait for the chain 2 to use souleater...when i use souleater and hit for 15-190 240-270 with crits i out DD a dragon twice as much as they do even with there pet...and to those that say that drgs out DD drks witout there boosts .... hmmm.. um... u sound jealous to me man would u ask a sam not to use meditate lol or a thf not to use SATA look drk and drg r both good jobs and not meant to be in the same pty... however i am not 60 yet but i do hear most say that after 60 wit Guillotine, Cross Reaper, Spiral Hell and of course the mighty Spinning Slash drks out perfrom drgs...however they r both solid melee jobs and a great adition to pty for SATA buddy and DOT (damage over time) when i hit 60 i will sub thf and sam for drk and make my decision for which is better... any way those r my opinions and im sure ill have 9 or 10 gameboys slam me for this but ya know what I JUST DONT GIVE A F*CK
