diaga is awesome for this: attention all red mages fighting maat! tried the sleep method; it sucked. Instead, equip all the mp gear you can, run in, stoneskin and blink, rolanberry pie +1, yag drink, int gear switch at some point> diaga maat to drop his shadows>dispel>chainspell aero> blink + stoneskin again> spam aeros, keeping elixers handy if necessary, and viola! maat dead, and quick! the rdm who taught me this (after dying 11 times to maat w sleep method) cleared the battlefield in 1 min 47 sec.... red mages rejoice!

I finally got Diaga at the Magicmart in San d'Oria. Sandy is in first this week (on Phoenix) and owns about 2/3 of the regional map. I found it yesterday (after the update); there must be a limited number in stock which would explain why I never could find it when Sandy was in first before.
Scroll: Diaga I

I wouldnt reccomend it, but using Diaga does a bit more Face value damage. not really worth it, but if your in a safe zone, might as well eh? Good for farming tho ^^

On a different note, does anyone actually use this spell? I purchased it via AH at level 18, and used it once to test it out. Since then, never again. Not even once. I can see no situation where it would be useful (unless you're pulling a train or something in Valkurm...)

Thats exactly it, i use it when training yags in giddeus. By the time you have 60 of them on you they are reduced to half life and one or two "ga" spells will finish them.
Diaga II?

Does anyone know where you can buy Diaga II?
Destroys Blink
# Jul 14 2004 at 8:30 PM Rating: Excellent
As I said in my post on the actual spell discussion, when cast on a mob that has shadows on it (Blink, Utsu, etc.) it will destroy the shadow and shread the Blink effect, thus allowing the melee and BLMs to begin damage immideatly, rather than waiting for the Blink effect to wear off.

This is sold by Kususu in Port Windhurst when Windhurst is in first. She's at H-8.

This scroll is found in the magic shop of the nation in first place, but ONLY to citizens OF THAT NATION. Just like the scroll for Slow, and maybe a couple others.
Sandy in first, no scroll

Sandy is in first, no scroll. I doubt bastok would have it, if they ever got to first.

To answer the 2 earlier questions:

1. Yes, the Ranking of your Nation *does* affect what Items are available within shops. Naturally 1st place means your Nation has the most amount of selection and inventory in the shops.

2nd Place loses out on some items, and 3rd Place is downright horrible (bare minimum).

2. Prices Listed (you mean on Allakhazam?): The reason it's not is that a Shop's Prices are in constant flux. The price depends on the individual player's Fame! So I buy items that are a few hundred gil cheaper than my friend in Windurst because he hasn't bothered to do any quests, while I've been everything I can :).

Why don't they list the prices for each npc merchant? they do it for DAoC for items sold but not FF XI. Would help me to know how much I need to save before I have to travel from Windurst to buy it.
Sandoria in First
# Jan 08 2004 at 5:24 PM Rating: Decent
I noticed that this spell was sold while Sandoria was ranked first. However when we dropped to second place in the rankings this spell did not show up. When we got into first again, the spell became available again. Maybe it is sold in all the magic shops in each town, but only when that particular country is in first place?
