And when u do merit every 10k is one merit.Most things cost 1-3 merit points. ^^ [Good luck]

U first need to get to lv 75 then go talk to matt in jeuno and go to Mog house there u can change mode in Status and now u wont get experience points u will get Merits points hope that help =)
