I didnt think GM's cared if you get ripped off by another player?

He gave you the item, yes? Its yours now. He shouldn't have givin it to someone who might not give it back. Simple I thought.

This cant be true?

It's not true. At least from what I know/seen first hand:

1. GM wouldn't take more then the gil "requested"
2. They need proper evidence (especially for item scams as this)
3. 3 Leaping boots, just sitting there? No one in their right mind would have 3, (1 on each account I assume) just sit there not being used, and not selling them if they are "just sitting there"
4. Why in gods name would anyone give a pair of leaping boots for free?

Many more but I don't feel like saying it.

Other then *********** happens..live and learn.

Generally, we see posts about people who are complaining that they were ripped off and the GM asked, "Did you give them <said item>?" And they say, "well yeah, but..." GM:"So you accepted the trade/sale/mindlessgiveaway?" Player:"Well, yes. But..." Gm:"Ok. Is there anything else we can help you with today, Adventurer?"

Edit: I am pretty sure there is no upholding of even a "Gentleman's Agreement" in FFXI.

omg im not invincible on the internet anymore! no fair! I don't like repercussions for being a jerk!(which is most likely the case in posts like this)

They changed the policies to include scams, spam, idling in traffic zones, etc. They now handle scams. They can also ban without reason. There is no need for evidence at all. This is also in the policy.

Nothing personal agaist you but you can't really take anyones word for it on here. If it happened like you say then ok yes, it's quite an issue and unfortunate.

Using the scam policy to scam somone else? perhaps, but probably not.

Any last words before I release a Hoduken Takiri ?

Nice find
The plot thickens!

All joking aside though, this is exactly why I WILL NOT loan expensive gear to anyone, no matter how long I've known them or how well I think I know them.
It's never come up, but I would never take an expensive gift from anyone either, for this same reason.

Go Narto! And the moron even put his real name on the post -

A GM wouldn't steal 1 mil from a character based on accusations. He read the logs and actually investigated. I think that's absolutely brilliant. It's about time things like this happened.

Congratulations on at least getting your item back. I think that's wonderful!

And what a dope for coming on here begging for sympathy from other FFxi'ers. No one would believe that a GM "stole" gil from a player without having just cause and evidence. How stupid.

Happy Gaming ^^

Incidentally, Takiri also thinks PUP is the best DD in the game and that there's a 3k damage cap on weapon skills.

Looks like all those Lamia Idolators outside Dvucca Isle, the Boreal Hound, and all the Aerns in sea didn't get the memo.

Wow. I need to shed a 'lil tear, as the good guy's finally get justice. I hope SE continues to get GM's from that temp agency. Can you imagine, if all GM's were fair and just? /em starts humming some John Lennon (because it was before her time and she doesn't know all the words, but has a gorgeous singing voice, you will have to take my word on that) and lights a candle to shine as a symbol of hope for all of Vana'diel to see.

Just. Wow.

Oh and to the OP: ~~~~~~

Dude, you're not even IN NewDream. You're in FinalProphets. If you're going to lie about something, and accuse someone else of lying, at LEAST sound intelligible enough to follow.

Glad you got your justice, Narto! ^^

Sadly enough, it was difficult to believe that a GM would take the time to look for and THEN investigate said evidence. I found the OP's story to reek of stinky cheese, simply because I have never heard of a scam end with the good guy winning.

I leave my original post in the thread untouched, simply because I am thrilled to have been proven wrong about the helpfulness of the GM's.

I gotta say it again. Wow. Lol maybe these are some of the new ones hired recently through the POL ad. :)
