I'm sure someone has gotten to this before I have but I felt it important information and something I should post regardless.

My friend told me today that after placing his chocobo on the "Rest" care plan, his chocobo didn't wake up at the end of the cycle. It remained permanently asleep. I called a GM about this, and GM Landisl responded to my call. Apparently it is a known and very real game glitch in the chocobo raising process. Landisl didn't have a lot of information to give me aside from that. He wished me luck in raising, and referred to this as a morbid sort of chocobo SIDs... So apparently SE is in the process of finding a solution to this glitch... But until they do it's recommended you do not place your chick on the "rest" care plan. You may want to hold off on raising for awhile, or use the "basic care" plan to give your chocobo some rest without actually resting it. The glitch is not a 100% of the time thing... but I personally don't want to take the chance.

To those who've already placed their chocobo's on a rest plan, I pray for the safety of your chick. My fiancee put hers to rest tonight and wasn't able to get back to San d'Oria in time to change it. She went to bed very upset with this information.

Although i mentioned this before on another thread, i had mine on rest but set for one day. Possibly if you set it for multiple days you might run into this glitch. My bird was sleeping all yesterday, but awoke today (Listened to Music).

Probably if people want to set it to 'rest', set it for 1 day. There probably is not a real reason why you'd want your bird to rest for more then 1 day anyway, imo.

I'm afraid I found about this 1 day too late. I really hope my chocobo will be alright...I know it's still a game, but it kind of makes me sad having my chocobo in a sleeping beauty senario.

SE knows about this glitch, they are not going to allow everyone's chocobos to die off (is that even possible?) or else they know they are going to have a lot of angry girls going all KYAAAAAA on them. They'll be fine. XD

I admit it. I would be one of those angry girls.

Have already poisoned linkshell chat window with exclamations of "OMG!! SHE IS SO CUTE WHEN SHE'S SLEEPING!!! I LOVE HER!!"

I sicken myself. Curse you, SE for finally pushing me over the edge into gamer madness.

I have to agree, he was very very polite and actually seemed to care. He told me this happened to one of the lady GM's he knows and he was very sad about it >.< As of now there's no real way to fix it, just try to be mindful of it. Landisl did say that SE is working on the problem right now, and it is a well known issue. So hopefully we'll see an update soon ^^. It may even be possible for chicks suffering from this to wake up after it's fixed... so don't lose hope if you think you're dealing with the sickess. All new software has glitches.... this is just a very sad one :( With some luck SE will fix it with haste.

its the mogels fault they are revolting against us. they plant the food with some substance that make them sleep forever. you must rise up and stop it tell them whos the boss.

>.> It's amazing that people keep replying to threads that begin with mentioning a GMcall and the GM saying it's a known bug by saying, 'That's no bug, you just don't understand the care plan.'

I spoke to [GM]Koenigspiel about this and he said pretty much the same thing. This is indeed a bug and they're working on fixing it.

Glad I didn't pay for my food then, my boyfriend crafted it for me for free two weeks before the mad rush for chocobo food began. :)

My chocochick is supposed to be resting for two days. If she doesn't wake up tonight, I think I'll be very sad. :( Already lost 1 RL pet in the last two weeks, don't want to add a virtual one to that count. :\

I noticed this bug with my chocobo, as well. However, when the day rolled over again the cutscene showed him walking around town like he HADN'T been sleeping all day, and he was awake after that. :/

Weird, because my chocobo went through the same cutscene and didn't wake up afterwards.

Glad yours woke up though.

I havnt fed my choco since it first hatched and dont plan on feeding it. Im in the prcess of killing it off due to the amount of money it takes to raise them. It really sucks for those of you raising your chocos and having them go into a coma on ya, but i think i just found a new less morbid way to kill it lol. best of luck to all of you

*sighs* I am having this issues as well. I had it set on the care plan to sleep for one day. She was at 1/3 enegery. The day after was Listen to Music, Basic, Then Walk around the town. Since the sleep, she hasn't woken up but still does the other care plan activies. When the CS finishes she is still asleep. I cannot feed her and all she has done is lose enegery. ...today she ran out... /panic Not sure whats going to happen next. ; ;

STUART: ...and Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with his wee beady eyes. And that smug look on his face.

CHARLIE: Dad, how can you hate "the Colonel?"

STUART: Because he puts an addictive chemical in it that makes you crave it fortnightly, smartass.

Contact tech support through the help desk in the POL viewer. They seem to be looking at this on a case by case basis, and so far that's the only real advice the GMs have been able to give.

I'd just put the poor thing down (failed babies are sad but they happen) but I figure it's worth waiting if it helps them figure out the problem.
