I believe i am first on server.
I put egg in a week before the update that added the new colours but didnt check it until after patch, and by doing so it allowed me to have the new colours.
its a deep grass green, i can hide in the grass and scare people now.

Hmm...didn't they, or someone say that you couldn't get a new color if you put in an egg before the patch?

Yep, it`s green choco color. A replacement showed up to a party yesterday that I was in on a green chocobo. Sorry, I didn`t think to take a picture.
On my TV it showed up as a darker shade of green.

I believe the reason was because i never checked the egg at all until after patch so maybe it doesnt code the egg.

I thought about this as well. I think that you still have a chance at getting a red or green choc right up untill it turns adult.
Since yellow teenage chocs can end up being blue or black, it's reasonable to assume that the same goes for red and green.
I remember seeing that from SE as well, and I understood it to mean that if you have a fully grown yellow choc prior to the update even if it meets whatever hidden background requirements to become green/red, your choc wouldn't spontaniously change color.

How does one know that they are the "first on the server" for anything. I think it is rather impossible to tell, unless you work for SE and can watch all the code...

Captain Obvious strikes again. Noone KNOWS they're the first, but it's a very good assumption that at this stage he's the first for his server.

The "first" would be the person who gets it first in FFXI, universally, not just server wise. But yeah, may have been first on the server since on my server, I've yet to see any colored chocos besides mine and some linkshell mates.

I have a green one too. I placed my egg before the patch, checked on it before the update. But the egg hatched after update. He is now a full grown green chocobo, he looks kinda moldy as a teenage chocobo.(lol) Ill get some screenies tonight ^^ and post them tommorow.
Heartsofqueen, or Najelith, is a JP friend of mine who to my understanding is the first person to get a green choco on my server (gilgamesh). i was lucky enough to get a chococard from him for free when he's been charging others for them ^^ /cheer
They look like they were exposed to high lvls of radioactive material.

I have a red one. ^^ It is still a "teenager" at the moment, and it keeps making me think of a parfait. Or a sherbert. It has really orangy-pinkish-red tips.
I put the egg in a few days before the update, and also hadn't checked on it until after the update. Mine should become an adult in 4-5 days. (it is currently on day 24, but it might be day 25... I forget what time I put the egg in.)
I'll post pics sometime. I usually play on the 360, so I'll need to update my desktop so I can play on there long enough to take the screenshots. >.>

No, laying down a claim would be "I am the first person on my server with a green chocobo." He is merely speculating that he is.
