==Ronfaure With Vocals== Get it While Its not crashedFollow

#1 Feb 01 2007 at 3:23 AM Rating: Excellent
My friend posted this on our LS site, after downloading it and hitting play I was awe-struck. A fan creation, using a really high quality synthesizer and vocals to the Ronfaure background music. It really is amazing, in some ways I'm curious if anyone can point me to the point of origin or knows if this person(s) did any more similar work. The song is peaceful, almost haunting. The combination of distinictly eastern vocals with very western sounding music really creates an interesting effect. I'd also love to have the lyrics. Anyways, without further Adieu.

And yes, this will probably crash having posted this on the main page of Alla, if everyone spams it it will probably crash, my friend only hosted this freely himself.

I went ahead and re-upped this onto two mirror locations that way
your friends uploaded version won't crash.

Thanks a lot Zander, and as to Hapernack: My pleasure. This was too good not to share with everyone. I've been looping this for the past hour or so, I can't get enough. It may also have to do with the fact that I didn't sleep at all, but that is beside the point.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

Awesome! Music swap go!
I won't mind leveling new jobs if it's in Ronfaure now.

-Edit-
Hopefully whoever made this is working on a Zi'tah version. I really wouldn't mind paying for this if I could have more zones.

Definatly, if this was a single track in a CD of 10 or 20 songs I'd bust out a good deal for it, 20-40$ at least. Glad everyone is enjoying it.

First convert it to WAV format using a program such as dBpoweramp. After turning it into a WAV you need something called a WAV to BGW Converter.

OK now that you have it as a BGW it goes into C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound\win\music\data\music109.bgw

Make sure to rename the original BGW to something like music109orig.bgw BEFORE placing it in the folder.

I've gone ahead and converted it into .bgw so those of us who would prefer using this track over the original in game can replace it.

You can download the bgw version from here.

The file you want to replace is located at C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound\win\music\data and it is called music109.bgw. You can rename the original to something like old_music109.bgw in case you want to revert back to it later.

Game updates won't revert it back.

This is amazing! I mostly enjoy the vocals, its so relaxing, but I would like a translation to know what the lady is singing ^.^.

This is so going on loop. If only the ingame music had vocals :/.

Not me. I've had the game music completely turned off for a good year and a half. For the most part I can't stand the game music. It's severely subpar in comparison to previous titles.

I came across this song a long time back while browsing various forums. I'm not sure about your version, but the one I have lists the creator's website as: http://www2.tiara.cc/~fffrom1/ If you dig around enough you can find this page talking about the song: http://www2.tiara.cc/~fffrom1/music/ronfauresong.txt

They are Japanese sites though, so be ready for lots of translating.

Very awesome.

I am also curious if there is more work out there from that artist.

For all who missed it the first time around, here an orchestral version of the Ronfaure music taken from the Tour the Japon:

I have only one thing to say...SE needs to hunt this guy down and HIRE him! This is FF console quality work. I've never been one for .dat swaps but for this song I feel the need to do it. I'm a whm and my one complaint has always been the lack of decent music while lvling. I don't engage the monster like other jobs I just throw the random cure and protect. I could listen to this song for hours while lvling. I'd love to see what the composer could do with the other area's songs. Might actually make the Dunes pleasant...at least audiowise.

Wow... just wow. This really is good. I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded it, but I can scarcely believe that this is fan creation! Now if only we could get Sarutabaruta and Gustaberg remakes!

very nicely done. The most upsetting thing about the game's music to me is not that it's bad, it's actually decent, but there needs to be more of it. I thought there would be a unique soundtrack for each zone and a battle theme to go with it, but that myth was dispelled quickly. If you listen to the orchestrated versions you'll know that these songs get a giantic butchering in the game.
