#1 Jun 16 2008 at 6:25 AM Rating: Sub-Default
FFXI /shout View Tool was up on famous japan BBS "2-channel".
You can watch /shout in Aht Urhgan Whitegate at anywhere by WWW browser now.

http://vanacommu.sakura.ne.jp/vanalog/index.html

The website is written in a japanese, but you can watch also /shout written in an english.

For you watch /shout in the website, it is needed that anyone start log-sending tool "ffsh.exe" and is in Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

http://vanacommu.sakura.ne.jp/file/ffsh_v050.zip

How to use ffsh.exe is below.

"èµ·å‹•" means start.

"終了" means stop.

"非公開にする" means Closed-door mode. You need to check it off if you want send /shout usually. If you check it on, only person who know URL of the filename can read the page.

"名前を隠さない" means "The name is not concealed". This option works only when you check "非公開にする" on.

"ファイル名" means filename. If you input "odintest", URL is vanacommu.sakura.ne.jp/vanalog/shout/odintest.html. This option works only when you check "非公開にする" on. A length of filename must be more than 3 words.

Generally, you should check "非公開にする" off, and need not use other options.

/shout will be sent only when you are in Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

-notice- ffsh.exe doesn't work on Windows Vista.

So ... why would anyone want to read the /shouts outside the game, when they're pretty annoying inside the game to begin with?

The funny thing is; people will click that link.

I'm not saying it's dangerous, but it's shady, and then 2 weeks later they make a "Waaah I got hacked" thread.

3 reasons why i dont trust this person.
1) My ex was named Mel. I dont trust anyone named Mel.
2) 2 posts! That seems fishy! anyone under 2000+ posts are not worth trusting on Alla (im joking)
3) I dont speak Japanese! No point having something which you dont understand. From what i know i could be downloading this /shout viewer and some japanese **** website.

Thanks for the offer but i will pass.

Yea. I filter /shout in game. No reason I want to see it out of game either.

I took a still of Greed, and took a small clip from Chobits, and fused them together. Smiley: laugh

Not to mention I don't trust anyone asking me to download their .exe. file. I imagine the japanese symbols like that douche that got a tattoo on the boardwalk during spring break:

"This symbol means: Baddass"
"No douche, it says "I'm a douche" in Japanese..."

I imagine clicking them and aggreeing to giving away all my gil and account info.
"This symbol means 'Yes'"

I'm on the site right now. There's really no reason to download the exe but the site is pwn. I've used it before and I plant to use it now. Doubt there's a reason to distrust the actual site.

Not everybody has a set for everything, and guess where most pug shouts are?

Just because you have everything completed in game Mr. ffxi extraordinaire...

I'd be interested in hearing a shout for AM22, or ZNM runs, or maybe help someone with CoP. Sure I would ignore the random talk but that is to be expected.

Would be nice to watch the shouts for an event you'd like to join (KSNM/Mission/Assault) while you are doing something productive in game (Escort, farming) instead of waiting around in whitegate.

I can see how the tool might be helpful, but because most shouts are autotranslated and the site displays those as Japanese, the effect is kind of lost.

Just to mention, I yesterday revisited the original thread for a tool that sounds very much the same, and found both links dead .

Unless this is a revival of the program thats on different URLs, I wouldn't trust this at all .

shouts arent annoying. i like to park my character in whitegate just to see shouts. i especially like japanese shouts that are 4 lines long even though i cant read them.

The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.
