The following is a response from Square Enix regarding two questions they have seen come up repeatedly about the first mini-expansion, A Crystalline Prophecy.

Quote:
Here are answers to two common questions we've received regarding the recently announced equipment for "A Crystalline Prophecy."

Q: I have a single account containing multiple characters, and would like to outfit all of them with this equipment. Will I need to purchase a separate registration code for each character?
A: No. A single registration code will allow you to acquire one reward item for each character on your account. (Provided, of course, that you complete the scenario with each character individually.)

Q: It says that I can add two additional attributes of my choice, but what happens if I change my mind about which effects I want later on? What if I decide that I want one of the other two items instead?
A: Provided that you discard the item in your possession, and meet the conditions necessary to receive the reward, it is possible to re-acquire the item as many times as you wish.

Further details about the unique qualities of these new items will be posted in the coming days, so stay tuned!

I hate to sound negative, but they're already saying we can change our reward from this expansion, but we still can't from ToAU? It's awesome that they're already addressing this fear, and are moving in this direction, but... I'm surprised.

There was SUCH a volume of questions as to if registration codes work for entire accounts or just single characters that SE had to release a statement about it?

Come on, people.

The second response sounds nice though.

No, definitely understand that. But I also see their point, since the armor we get from this is much more specifically tailored. If i change meelee jobs, I can still use ulthalam's ring, i can even use it on my cor as a tp build. But depending on the stats we can throw on it, it might be much more narrow than that with the expansion armors. So you can put enmity on it for a tank, and not be worried you are stuck with an armor usuable for only one job.

but how hard is it going to be to get the item again? Is it going to have the usual 90 day re-get wait, are we gonna have to win some balls-crazy fight a 2nd time to re-get it? If that's the case, you may as well either tailor it to your favorite job, or balance the stats so that you get the most use out of it.

Definitely good news to hear about being able to re-obtain the reward from the mini-expansion. I'm almost always torn between my Nin and Whm when it comes to ending rewards. =/

My thoughts exactly. Frankly, this is small potatoes compared to lots of other issues the overall community would much rather have addressed. Its good news, none-the-less, but I got much more excited than the content warranted when I first glanced at the headline and saw "SE response to community questions."

probably just redoing the quest again, or maybe just the final boss fight, No idea, but it can't be as difficult as getting a DM earring.

Idiots shouldn't be allowed to ask questions, period.

Pikko, did the community team email this info to Alla admins?

While this one announcement may be very small, this could be a huge development. This is the same information they posted in Japanese to the Creator's Voice Blog yesterday. It'll be interesting to see if they do this for other informational posts that in the past have only gone up on the site in Japanese.

This was sent to all Premier Sites.

I love how they answer these pissant questions and ignore the rampant torrent of other questions/issues the player base has/have had for years.

Sorry for the downer but really..

I'd like to know if I could get two tokens that worked with one account. Since I have a laptop I'd like to leave one at home and take one on my keychain when I go to a friend's house.

If it's anything like WoW's (all indications say it will be) then no, they're all unique. Hell, if you could duplicate it then you've already compromised the security of the whole thing.

I feel like peoples responses to this may be a little harsh. No they didn't adress any hard hitting questions. But if they open up a continuing channel to premiere sites, I am all for it. Yes we will get fluff we always do in Q and A but we also get some gems too. Pikko please please please give feedback as best you can to let them know we want more of this. A weekly Q and A would be huge where the devs pick a couple questions to answer. This will not only let us know where they stand on issues but would allow us to give feedback to there answers.

If they want to get the pulse of there players and what we are looking for this is one of the best ways of doing it. Im tired of reading horrible Q and A sessions come fanfest that could have been weeded out years ahead of the question.

And these Q and A sesions would be large traffic drivers to premiere sites being a win win for both SE and community sites.

I wonder if SE will add anything useful for the previously ignored jobs.

Past rewards have hardly been worth mentioning.

Divine Might
- Dual wield bonus
(not much other to choose)

CoP
- normal mage ring
- DD ring
- Some odd tank ring

AN
- Tank earring
- Accuracy earring
- MB earring
I think that was the options or?

ToAU
- M.acc ring
- DD ring
- Something I can't remember

I want to see

CP or WotG
- Skill cape (alternative to the darn ix.capes)
- Pet bonus cape
- Another generic DD cape

I think that would also make everyone except perhaps PLD happy.

I would definitely give this idea my stamp of approval. Sounds like a great idea, and the sort of thing that we've all been wanting for years - more interaction with the development team.

If the first question had been about the in-game item for the security token, it would have made more sense. But if it goes the way other rewards have gone in the past, it's one item/one character.

Good to know we can change the gear we get for that mini-expansion :)

This is probably the question people asked, but SE took it to mean per character.
