This week's Happy Friday came to me while I was leveling Dancer in Batallia Downs. True story.

Always hate it when aggro comes from outta nowhere.

Comic would have been a it funnier if the last square had shown the character surrounded by enemies or getting whacked around, needs some action scene.

It's kinda funny, although the face on the last panel kinda looks like a last minute rush-job...

Btw, Goblin Archeologist comes from below...

I hope every Friday from now on is a "Happy" one. Maybe next Friday will be my turn, eh? (It's good you had a comic as mine was not quite ready yet hehe...)

Edit:

It must have been a Goblin Digger Smiley: lol

I can't count how many times I thought "There's no monsters here, I can rest and just step away for a minute" only to come back to find my character lying face down (or up since I'm elvaan) on the ground.

It's not a "no agg anywhere" thing for me. I just have really bad luck with predicting mob(especially goblin >.<) pathing. I'll think it's clear but then the stupid thing will do a direct 180 and look right at me.

I have this crazy theory that GM's control Goblins. No matter how far you see them, the moment you /heal or stop they make the weirdest paths and aggro. They messin' with our heads!

When I first started playing I thought they could smell you and would wander towards the smell; thus explaining the extra-special pathing.

You set the bar too high with that SMN one a while back :P

You have amused me with your Goblin based humor. Seriously, what the hell is up with those things always tracking you down when you least suspect it? No other mob seems to be able to creep up on you like they do.

There have been times that I sincerely share Cigarman's theory that GMs control Goblins on their off time for their own personal amusement.

Even when they haven't yet aggro'd you, they always seem to want to wander in your direction...

Me and some of my friends have this theory also. Its GM's messing with us time to time. I swear it.

{True Strike}. When running a mule to Jeuno I noticed that agro mobs seem to make a beeline for you even when you're far away, it's like they're thinking 'I can kill that PC, lemme try to {Mug} them'.

Goblin pathing can be a PITA when leveling solo, but the mob with the biggest "undercover GM," symptoms is cactuars. Seems if you get within a 20 yard radius of them, they *will* walk towards you. Always. Maybe at an angle to feign dis-interest, but don't be fooled! Not sure if this is only when they can aggro normally. I'll have to run a 75 to altepa and check that.

I'm leveling in Altepa now, and the EP cactaurs don't path strangely towards me.
