Well two RDMs (or a few more joined during) took down one crab in there, took a while. Then we went on and found a group of crabs and they all easily linked/aggro'd. More people entered and I took everyone in. Wiped again to that group of crabs.

I tried it out with a pick up group, we got raped by a bunch of antlions.

Its kind of like campaign crossed with Einjerhar.

No xp loss.
And you do get skillups.

Seems like a temp item shows up in your inventory everytime a enemy is killed.

can you go in solo just like campaign and fight mobs other parties are fighting?

Yes. It's not instanced.

The agro/linking behavior in those things is really weird.

For example the crab one. We defeat the lone crab in his little corner, and suddenly 4 crabs come running at us from across the zone, We promtly wipe because theyre immune to ad control.

So I duno, looking forward to that making sense because these are not soloable by far when half the zone runs up to you for no reason.

I don't believe you can enter once a mob has been engaged in a zone.

Just to post some early observations:

As stated Crabs and Antlions seem immune to Crowd control (Full resist on a few ES-Sleepga2s). Bard couldn't lullaby, but did manage to elegy a crab - no luck with the antlions. As also was said, linking seems wierd as heck and seems to be triggered by killing mobs as much as what you pull.

Temp items drop as well as some trash stuff (ie crab meat).

I also managed to lot an ex Coin of Advancement which I'll be sitting on until I figure out what it's for. Anyone know?

All-in-all, the analogy of Einherjar with your Campaign friends seems apt. I'm going to get a few levels and bring a few more friends before I head in there again.

The experience was basically this - kill 1 mob -> omg where did all those other mobs come from -> wipe -> reraise -> get killed while weakened -> reraise -> rest -> kill 1 mob -> omg where did all those other mobs come from -> wipe -> reraise -> timeout.

Really, the barrier to entry is pretty high on this one. Could have been a bit easier to start with and then scaled up, but /shrug Abyssea seems to start out easy so I'll stop mah whining.

this describes all my attempts exactly.

I guess people need to be level 80 to beat WOEand actually work as a group, which means, each individual party should fight one different mob when several attack at once. I wouldn't expect anyone to be successful in there until everyone is level 80 and there is a set strategy for it.

Mine varied a bit,

Run in > Holy **** thats a big blob > Attack a small one > rape by Big one > Continueous raping while jps and other rush and in aggro > movement speed kiting which seems the best route > more rapeing.

We haven't figured out the strategy yet, but I can at least pass on that I was able to fully buff outside Conflux #1 (including Composure) and not have any of it wear when I entered the battlefield. Might save a little time for large groups entering at the beginning.

Gratuitous self-quote, but I thought I should follow up. It appears that the coin is used in a magian weapon upgrade quest (30 needed) - so some folks that want to upgrade down a certain path are going to be figuring this out whether they like it or not.

Time to get grinding!

Kinda disappointed that this zaone is all but abandonned already... Hopefully once people reach 80 they will pile in for whatever rewards are discovered...

You definitely need a ton of people to be going in at the same time to have any chance in there..

I'm really interested to get into WoE but until everyone else is i cant.. :(

Abandoned? Really? Abandoned?

Garrison is abandoned, ballista is abandoned. With WoE it's something we call "It hasn't even been out for 24 ******* hours yet and people are a tad bit busy with the ******** of other things that were added". But NOT abandoned.

Chill pill {You can have it}

Last night this zone had an alliance full of ppl. Now there's 3. For all purposes right now it is abandoned.

It's the source for part of the Magian trial for upgrading to Empyrean weapons, so you can be sure that eventually it's going to be done by organized groups. Calling it abandoned when it's been available for less than 24 hours is a little silly.

Empyrean Weapons are Abyssea not Walk of Echos.

They are even on the Abyssea website.

Maybe the mobs are in parties of their own, and that's why they long-range link the way they do.

Check the wiki on the Trials for high DMG weapons, the extended paths lead to the Empyrean weapons. One of the two trials involves what looks like Abyssea drops. The other asks for Coins of Advancement, which have been confirmed to drop from Walk of Echoes.

I actually reread and you're correct, technically. The Trial involving Coins of Advancement are for alternative weapons, after the previous High DMG final weapons there's two routes, WoE coins for a slightly weaker weapon, and Abyssea drops for the Empyerean. I misread initially that you had to do both.

You get a different weapon though for the coins, you do not get one of the weapons from the website.

Yeah, double checked and saw I was wrong, which raises the question what are the other rewards for WoE. Inferior weapons aren't going to draw people with abyssea, after all. They talked about crafting material at one point, and there must be something else to spend the coins on.

I did this twice more tonight.

We did the awful clot thing and there was a Coin of Birth drop. And we all died. Had about 19 level 75-78.

We also did the antlion thing. We killed one mob, then wiped once, then tried the MASSIVE antlion (it's MASSIVE) and we wiped. We had 22 level 75-78.

It was grand fun and I can't wait til we're all 80s and we go back (although I plan on going in as often as I see big groups in there).

I got the old bait and switch on my last try. Assessing the situaion said 21 people in the zone. I went in to find 2, running for their lives, and an antlion as big as a freight train barreling down on me. It seems those people either left or were ejected right when I entered. The antlions made short work of my poor blu. XD Man those guys are scary.

I'd like a revisit when I am 80+ for a little revenge (revenge is sweet, I went and nailed stuff in riverne and sacrarium for a while last night). At least there was no exp loss.
