Synergists of Vana'diel, start firing up your furnaces! The upcoming version update will see the upper limit of Synergy skill raised to level 80 (Artisan), and with a host of recipes—featuring lavish new furnishings and much, much more—there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy!

Headlining the recipe book are the guild stalls first announced at VanaFest 2010. These opulent items are prime examples of the perfect marriage between form and function, as they will proudly display your passion for your chosen craft, while giving you a significant crafting skill increase to boot!

And why stop there? You can decorate your stall further with yet more stylish items depicting the finest wares each guild has to offer. Certain items can be crafted via synergy, while others can be obtained in exchange for the guild points acquired through certain guild quests.

See link for pictures.

That's pretty cool.

Too bad crafting is nearly useless now.

Yayyyy!!!! We get more useless stuff for the update, Nobody crafts anymore. mainly due to the fact that the cost of materials severely outweighs the gain (There's no profit in it).

Furniture? Seriously? They can't do any better than furniture?

Smiley: dubious This is the fluff portion of the update I am sure there is a lot more to be had.

I loved crafting, not enough time for it anymore or I would do it for a slight loss/break even. I am sure I'm not the only one that feels the same way.

I was thinking we would get the job update tonight. :( Been refreshing the site all night waiting for it.
Next time, I guess.

Those furniture pieces are kinda neat. :P After all these years, I've finally sorta gotten into decorating my moghouse a bit (at least so it looks better than a storage shed for event furniture), and am always on the lookout for interesting furnishings.
I like the chocobo totem, and I got a kick out of the boneworker's crab box of wares thing. A stall is pretty cool, but a stall for inside your moghouse seems a bit strange.

It would be great if they started putting in new gear/consumable recipes for snything to get it moving again. It's cool that you can buff up your crafting power now and all that, but not many people are into it any more at all. Though, I would like to raise synergy some day myself, if nothing else then just for those EX teleport-town earrings.

Guild quests for points? Are they talking about the existing ways of getting points, or perhaps they're adding in new quests for the guilds to earn them... hm...

Also, I gotta say, that alchemy set is great. Now your moogle has his very own meth lab for when you're gone. XD

With a weekish until the update, I was really hoping for JA announcement 1 today and 2 on Friday.

Although judging by the fact that synergy only went to 80, I would assume that SE has two more update in the planning.

March it went to 60, September to 70, now December 80.

That fits with the level cap going to just 90 this time, then 2 more increases coming later.

This isn't going to breathe life into crafting.

I'd like to see something get it going again since I'm sick of seeing ammo at 10X its manufacturing cost. Sadly with all the time sinks SE has thrown at us, its hard to find time to level synergy. So I have to rely on dedicated crafters and their are just not enough to create a competitive market.

Just curious what you are referring to here. Magian stuff, or abyssea? WoE, I guess?
Leveling is faster than ever these days, people rarely have need to merit specifically, lots of "endgame" stuff like hnms, znms, salvage, limbus, einherjar, etc have been nixed from the schedule for a lot of people I know. People aren't doing campaign, or MMM or things like that a lot.
A lot of things that used to eat up peoples time, well... aren't much anymore. Not necessarily replaced yet.

I am not doubting you are busy, I am just curious which things you are doing that might be keeping you more busy than ever before, since most people I know in game these days have mostly said the opposite. Maybe I just roll with a different crowd. XD Even a couple hnm-shell leader friends who used to be extraordinarily busy with game activities have had loads of time on their hands, for a while now, to do other things.

I would guess he's referring to something along the lines of running from one end of an Abyssea zone to another 50+ times in a sitting in hopes of an AF3 seal. I will never use /clap again. Nor do I have any desire to ever again see a chocobo in this lifetime. He can take his greens and stuff them up his....

Are we really getting the new add on next weekish? Was anything announced?

Not that I am an impatient sh*tdick, but I still have two weeks left to take off from work before the end of the year, and I would like to level my 8 jobs 85-90 during that time. If I take off christmas week I wont be able to level, as my fiancee is a school teacher and if we are both off she wont let me play :(

So, I am praying it is next week so I can take off and level, lol.

Magian trials for 3 85 jobs
AF3 seal quests and NM's for 3 jobs
Levelling subs to 50
NM's for Atmas
AF3 +2 NM's
WoE for coins

And still doing the occasional limbus, sea, dynamis events to help others and to get the few remaining worthwhile pieces.

And just as I'm getting close to finishing that stuff, more Abyssea is just round the corner with more AF3, more Atmas, levelling to 90, more quests. I'm still short seals on 4 AF3 pieces and have none of the AF3 +2 items yet and still need RR and VV atmas.

I'm sure for the hardcore, its all been done but for the more casual player, its quite a lot of time used.

Maybe I just read it wrong, then.
"All the time sinks" made it sound like SE has introduced a lot of stuff recently to occupy this person's time, more than they were used to. It really has seemed like the opposite. People I know in game whose game time used to be jam packed with activities whenever they were on have been strangely available for misc things all the time lately - for a good while, really.

Was really just wondering what they were up to that kept them so busy. Seemed to me that recently SE has removed a lot more time sinks than they have added, which I'd thought would free up some time for most. Obviously some time to spend on the all-important synergy! :P
Guess that person just hangs out in abyssea and does magian trials... a lot...

You remembered correctly. The PlayOnline main site lists it on the front page, at the end of the Heroes announcement (3rd story down).

I might have to gp again. ^^ Unlike a lot of you I make a lot of gil cooking, so this could be a bonus tho I do arrange my mh for looks, not a specific mog enhancement. (I think that's common for cooks.)

(Just so you know, I farm no more than a couple mats, then make stuff. Won't say what.)

hmm I have level 60 synergy skill and have found it pretty hard to find enough people with the correct skills and synergy skill to help me make a galley kitchen. :(

I really wished these items were solable.

Doesn't everybody? Isn't that where endgame has moved? Other than WoE, Abyssea and Magian trials are the time sinks that get the best new gear. Admittedly the tasks are easier than some older endgame, but the stone limit and poor drop rates make up for it. While it didn't take too long to get some AF3 pieces, others are a challenge and getting the AF3+2 requires some significant cooperation and dedication.

AF3+2 / empyreans both go hand in hand if you are lucky. If you are unlucky you'll have a hard time getting either.

What SE Says:

Quote:
Synergists of Vana'diel, start firing up your furnaces! The upcoming version update will see the upper limit of Synergy skill raised to level 80 (Artisan), and with a host of recipes—featuring lavish new furnishings and much, much more—there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy!

...

These furnishings are just the tip of a massive iceberg of items that no synergist worth his or her fewell will want to miss!

What SE is going to do:

New Counter for each Craft: 200,000 guild points:
- If alone: Moghancement: Craft (Skill +1)
- If with Guild Furniture or Signboard: Moglification: Craft (Skill+1 and reduced chance of critical failure)
- If with Guild Furniture and Signboard: Moglification: Craft II (Skill+2 and reduced chance of critical failure)

New Synergy Furniture for Crafting:
70+ Synergy, 90+ Craft x, 80+ Craft y, 80+ Craft z: For individual Moghancement: Craft, just like the guild point items, but not stacking with Signboards/Counters to achieve Moglification. Totally useless if you already have the GP Furniture, aside from aesthetics.

A bunch of new recipes for armor that is either a sidegrade to what we already have, or worse, that will require insane levels of crafting skill and no one will bother making except for the dozen or so people on a server who actually do synergy.

No new recipes for regular crafting; everything that should be a regular craft item will require 70+ synergy along side high level crafting.

High-Five each other and tell themselves that they did a great job giving the players exactly what they wanted.

Did it too late, the only way to make it reasonable to make new crafts past 60 is allow master points to be lifted.

Crafting is dead for the most part and i guess SE feels the need to give us 1/2 baked ideas to awaking it.
