In addition to the copious new abilities and spells previously announced on this space, the fast-approaching version update will usher in a host of job adjustments.

The following adjustments will be made to job abilities:

- The effectiveness of the THF job trait "Treasure Hunter" will occasionally increase with each melee attack landed. Further, damage dealt with either the "Sneak Attack" or "Trick Attack" ability will have a greater likelihood of enhancing this trait.
*Effect active only when main job is set to THF.

- Thieves will learn the job trait "Treasure Hunter III" upon attaining level 90.

- The beastmaster ability "Call Beast" will receive the following new jugs:
Razor Brain Broth / Mellow Bird Broth / Savage Mole Broth

- The beastmaster ability "Reward" will receive the following new pet food:
Pet Food Eta

- Elemental ninjutsu damage will increase based on ninjutsu skill.
*Effect active only when main job is set to NIN.

- The following ninja tools will be added:
Inoshishinofuda: Used to cast any elemental ninjutsu
Shikanofuda: Used to cast any self-enhancing ninjutsu
Chonofuda: Used to cast any foe-damaging ninjutsu
*These universal tools will be usable only when main job is set to NIN.
*Ninjutsu-specific tools will be expended first for those who possess them.
*The table below outlines tool usage when under the effect of the ninja ability "Futae." The numbers indicate the amount of an applicable tool currently in possession.
Ninjutsu-specific Tool
0 1 2 or more
Universal Tool 0 - x S
1 x x S
2 or more U x S

S: Two ninjutsu-specific tools will be expended.
U: Two universal tools will be expended.
x: Futae will fail to activate and its effect will be canceled.

- The "Trump Card" item, imbued with the energies of all elements, will be added for the corsair ability "Quick Draw."
*This card will be usable only when main job is set to COR.
*Element-specific cards will be expended first for those who possess them.

- The level at which the dancer ability "Curing Waltz III" is acquired will be lowered from 50 to 45.

- Scholars will become able to store an extra Stratagem charge (for a maximum of five) upon attaining level 90.

- The effectiveness of the scholar ability "Sublimation" in converting HP to MP will increase based on level.
Lv.35: 2HP => 2MP
Lv.45: 2HP => 3MP
Lv.55: 2HP => 4MP
Lv.65: 2HP => 5MP
Lv.75: 2HP => 6MP
Lv.85: 2HP => 7MP

The following abilities will be subject to restrictions when used in the capacity of support job:

- The thief ability "Hide" will not break the attention of enemies already targeting the user.
- The ranger ability "Velocity Shot" will be unavailable.

WoW THF gets some attention.

Does this mean this gives people a reason to keep THF in and not just "Tag" the mob :D

well at least they tried to keep THF in it's place....TH whoring just reached a new level

Think I'll just give up on wanting anything else for the job since this is clearly the direction that SE will keep it in.

Looks like S/E is showing everyone which job is the owner of TH. Now, we really could use a DMG boost. No more running in and tagging the mob and you're done. This should revive the myth of Thief needs to get the last hit. Or, is it no longer a myth?

Wow, while I was typing this, everyone else was thinking and typing the same thing.

It still is a myth. What's changed is the fact that Thief needs to keep hitting the monster to increase the TH effect.

And PUP gets absolutely nothing new this patch. Q.Q

At least SCH got a really big boost this patch.

Let's see how may parties say this "Let the Thief get the last hit with a SATA." I bet you start to see it a lot, myth or no myth.

From experience, some people will try it once each way then base their every strategy on those two tests. They'll argue with everyone else, even though others may test it multiple times.

This is kinda vague, why can't they just state how much of a boost it gives or whether you need to keep the dmg up or just a few spikes. I have a feeling it will be a constantly moving boost and not proc at it's highest point, which if let slide near death of the mob or the theif dies you lose it.

I really hope I'm reading this right:

- The effectiveness of the scholar ability "Sublimation" in converting HP to MP will increase based on level.
Lv.35: 2HP => 2MP
Lv.45: 2HP => 3MP
Lv.55: 2HP => 4MP
Lv.65: 2HP => 5MP
Lv.75: 2HP => 6MP
Lv.85: 2HP => 7MP

Meaning for every 2 points of HP the noted MP will be recovered. Meaning AF Hat/Relic body effectively double the return. Meaning at 85, Sublimation can reach 14mp/tick, or 280 MP/minute, at the cost of 80 HP. If you toss a cure II for each minute charging, that's roughly the same MP efficiency as Refresh II for a rdm, in 2/5 the time.

Because if they flat out said it people wouldnt keep a thf in party.

Could you imagine:

TH1 - Increase the odd of droping an item by 0.5%
TH2 - Increase the odds of dropping an item by 1.0%
TH3 - Increase the odds of dropping an item by 2.0%

SA/TA - 5% chance to increase the drop rate by 0.1%
Regular melee - 1% chance to increase drop rate by 0.05

Initially I was thinking it'd also take X HP to restore X MP, but it only gets better if means 2 HP translates to X MP. For now, I'm banking more on the +Sub pieces just upping their HP drain like usual while adding the same amount of MP, so +9 MP could be achieved at 85, with +10 likely at 95. It's still better than Refresh II and Sublimation merits aren't quite as LOL now.

They are trying hard not to disappoint, I'm kind of wondering who these guys are and what did they do with the other SE. Tons of inventory is going to be cleared up for me and MNK and NIN got some love. Would have been kind of nice for RDM to get a higher tier cure though, feels like I'm healing people with BLM back in the day.

at 9MP/tick, it wouldn't take more than 2:15 to cap sublimation.

Haha, back in the day? It's true, healing on BLM always did feel like we were trying to hold back the Mississippi with our hands. Now a-days though, it feels more like trying to hold back the Atlantic, even with Cure IV. Waxing nostalgic aside, it would be nice to see some more rounding out of the RDM tools a bit. RDM has been getting things, to be sure, but I can't quite shake the feeling that every other class is racing toward the finish line while RDMs are just sort of meandering in that direction.

well, it depends on how you use it. Stoneskin's the best choice, obviously, but if you're using it frequently, cure II costs less than regen II.

Also, The broths:

Razor Brain Brain: Probably a Coeurl. Cunning Brain Broth calls a coeurl with no attack TP moves. Razor Brain probably calls one with only attack moves, maybe a Lynx.
Mellow Bird Broth: Raptor
Savage Mole Broth: Eft
