Hello, is anyone else experiencing lockups/game freeze in Port Jueno on the Xbox 360 since the update?

I have had 3 lockups in 10 minutes there... i couldnt zone out, i kept freezing and had to reboot the console every 30 secs whilst trying to get out of the zone.

YES! Jeeze, thought it was just me - it summer here and after a huge update I figured my machine was overheating. It was doing it a bit just in Jeuno itself, but the Port is worse. Hopefully there's an update on the way. Anyone else getting this issue? I went through and checked every file for corruption but theyre good.

Thankyou for the reply.

It is winter here and -5 at the moment (UK).

I got my update last night, and completed my level cap rise... i then logged out in Port Jueno for the night as it was 1.30am by then...

So when i log in this morning my console (and my whole house) is stone cold... its not an overheating issue... i only ever lockups on the x360 in Besieged (right at the very end) or occasionally in an Abyssea PT after roughly 5hrs of play... that was until this update... now im locking up 3 times in 10 minutes... i couldnt run more than 30 steps in Port Jueno before i locked up and had to reboot the 360.

Making posts here only helps you see others are having the same issues, if you don't tell them they won't know and so won't try to fix it. Most of the time issues are reported by JP players, xbox isnt very popular in japan so not a good idea to reply on others reporting it.

I just had 2 freezes in the past 10 minutes. One was in Port Jueno and now again in Abyssea Attohwa. There was very little lag, which is normally the case when I have this problem. I was able to level from 85-90 last night in Altepa with no problems. And I have been logged in for 3 hours in Whitegate listening to shouts without any problems.

Edit: Just logged back in at Attohwa and froze 2 mins in.

How do we go about reporting these problems of the x360 locking up/freezing since the update?

I just sent feedback using this form.

I had some error last night, so I gave up until morning hoping there'd be some nice news about emergency maintenance or something. Yeah. Haven't even tried to fully finish downloading the update yet.

I managed to stay on long enough to warp out of Abyssea. I placed a call to a GM. Let's see if I can stay on long enough to get a response.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with highly congested areas. I'm now in Windurst Woods (21 people) and not having any trouble. When I xp'ed in Abyssea Altepa last night there were hardly any people there.

I am having that exact problem with my xbox 360.. Thought it was mainly because it was about to kick the bucket, but this is too coincidental since its happening to you all too.
It has froze up 3 times in Port Jeuno since I've logged on this morning.
And I know there's a lot of traffic here in jeuno, but really.. Its never done it like this before.
I was hoping to get into a party, but from the looks of it I won't be able to do anything.

However my fiance seems to not be having problems at all on his 360 and his in a abyssea pt... So I don't know why I am freezing up in PJ..

EDIT: Actually just zoned fiances char out of abyssea pt, warped to Port Jeuno and his xbox froze within 10 seconds of zoning. There is definitely a problem >.>

I just hope that there is a fix coming soon. And here I have all of the upgrades and the download/install took a heck of alot longer that what was listed on the SE website. It took me from 4 pm to 11pm last night. That is too damn long.

Spent an hour or so dumping things off at the Porter Moogle in Windy with no problems; then took the airship to Jeuno to get the new LB started. Froze twice trying to leave the airship terminal.

Yeah I know what you mean, it took mine like 4-5 hours to upload. Fiance's 3 hours after it stopped quitting and freezing. >.<

I froze up in Upper Jeuno. That's the first time that's happened in that particular zone.

Sweet. I thought maybe my Xbox was hitting the *******. It froze for me in Ru'Lude and Port Jeuno today, and I wasn't playing on it that long.

This still happening to people? I really dont want to jog into Jeuno to test it and wind up going through another series of running freezes.

I just froze whilst looking at items at the AH in WG.

So its still a problem, theres been no mention of it being ackowledged as a problem so i dont know if they will even try to do anything about it.

I also froze in Port Jueno again (for the 4th time) last night... so in total ive had 5 lockups, 4 in Port Jueno and 1 in WG.

I have spoken to 2 people in the same LS as me and they both had similar problems but it happened to them mainly whilst in Abyssea or whilst at/near maws - they also play on the x360.

I have no idea who to contact about this or what to do.

I wonder if it'l simply become a case of having to ask GM's if they know anything about it. I know it's not their forté but seem's the only way of drumming up more than a glancing interest in it. Last night in abyssea a few players on 360 were experiencing it, but who'se to say if they're avoiding Jeuno for now and expecting a fix for a problem SE might not be aware of.

I just froze up in Whitegate, P. Jeuno and Abyssea - Vunkerl in about a 10 minute span. I give up. I placed a call to a GM yesterday and only got what appeared to be a pre-written response that first said to perform a check file and if that doesn't work to contact them at their website. I placed another call and got another written response saying that they have had several contacts about the problem and that it usually takes a few days to fix this sort of issue. However, I saw no mention of it in the Known Issues announcement today and I'm starting to get a little frustrated. I would like to see some public acknowledgment that they are are aware of the issue. I wanted to call and speak with someone but I could not find a number on their "customer support" website. If someone could get a live GM to talk to them that would be a start I guess.

I just used the form to contact SE (its about half way down this thread which was posted by someone else).

I included all the experiences i have had with lockups in Port Jueno and 1 in WG etc...

If enough of us do this then maybe they will at least fix it on the quiet and admit no fault.

I hope the link to the SE contact form i mentioned is indeed a legit one and not some info stealing website... sorry if this offends anyone by my asking, but its best to be safe than sorry, i wouldnt want to point people towards something which was potentially harmful.

I just sent off a form as well, but it was the link provided in the sticky at the top of the general discussion forum. Can only hope, as you say. :/

Yea, that is the same form I used as well. The GM message instructed me to go there. We should all fill one out. It's the only way this will get resolved quickly.

That is bananas. Was the zone crowded? I was able to kill Bakka and Tonberry Lieje for a couple of hours last night with zero problems. I went around doing the job emote quests and farming geodes for hours yesterday without any problems. There were never more than 10 people in any of those zones though.

To be honest it might be server traffic at certain times thats the problem.

It was around this very same time yesterday (11am - 3pm UK) that i had these similar problems, it is JP peak time around about now i guess.

And around 6pm-10pm UK time (4am-8am JP time?) i was able to go in to abyssea Altepa without any problems, i leveld up from 86-89 with no lockups at all in that time.

Then today, back in the window of 11am - 3pm UK (7pm - 11pm JP?) the problems have started again.

So its looking like a server overcrowding problem at certain times maybe...
