The February mini-update promises to relieve item-related stress for adventurers, with the opportunity to reacquire the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission reward items, an expansion of the Porter Moogle storage system, and more!

Aht Urhgan Rings Made Reobtainable

After the February update, players will be able to reobtain the following reward items from the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission scenario:
Balrahn's Ring / Ulthalam's Ring / Jalzahn's Ring

To reacquire the reward, speak with the NPC Nadeey at Walahra Temple in Aht Urhgan Whitegate without any of the above items in your ownership.
*Should you discard the reacquired item, the event timer will reset with the next conquest tally.

Porter Moogle Service to Expand

With the February update, the items listed below will become storable with the Porter Moogle NPC. Players can expect yet more additions to be made to this service in future updates.

[Moogle Storage Slip 04]
Razor Axe / Barbaroi Axe / Marauder's Knife / Raven Scythe / Fencing Degen / Peregrine / Sniping Bow / Blessed Hammer / Casting Wand / Beat Cesti / Kukulcan's Staff / Honor Sword / Immortal's Scimitar / Anju / Zushio / Magoroku / Turbo Animator / Trump Gun / War Hoop

[Moogle Storage Slip 11]
Gold Moogle Belt / Silver Moogle Belt / Bronze Moogle Belt / Red Sash / Dash Sash / Happy Egg / Fortune Egg / Orphic Egg

Furthermore, so as to prevent unintended cancellation of Magian trials, the porter service will no longer handle items involved in ongoing trials.

Pet Food Eta for All

The materials required to synthesize Pet Food Eta will be adjusted to make this item more readily available to adventurers.

New Low Price for Instant Retrace

The December update lowered costs for Instant Reraise and Instant Warp scrolls. The February mini-update will usher in a similar price reduction for Instant Retrace scrolls, from 500 Allied Notes to 10.

Not quite +16 for me yet, but it means I can do most of the AF storylines now. Knowing I'm a packrat, I've avoided doing them since I know I wouldn't toss the weapons for space.

Now if only they add another slip for all the FoV weapons and/or items. Think I have all but 4 of those.

btw, not this update, but they are also looking to allow the AF weapons to be reobtained, by those how threw them away.

hasn't this allways been a requirement to reobtain af after toss/upgrade?

Yeah you always have to get the weapon to re-quest you AF. So if you drop it, just erase your AF memory and go quest again if you want.

Would be nice along with the change to instance retrace if they added the scroll to all the npcs that sell warp and reraise scroll.

While I'm sure it's just an oversight; those that wanted to store their BRD AF weapon are SOL.

That be tough considering Scholar Artifact "Weapon." Although there's definitely ways around it. Being able to upgrade the spell being one lol.

Cheap retrace is about all that got me excited.

I dumped AF weapons a while ago. And re-questing AF is no longer an issue since you can store individual pieces now.

Still haven't finished Aht Urghan story line >.>

And I don't have BST.

Oh well I'm just looking forward to the xp changes and skill up mods. That alone will make the next update win.

But doesn't it seem this announcement is the kind of thing they'd just throw in on Update day? Not really that special at all.

Since this is supposed to be the first in their line of minor version updates, I'd expect all the announcements to be, well, minor.

The same company that thinks +20 STR on an atma is 'Minor' thinks these changes are 'Galore'?

Exactly. We shouldn't expect massive changes in what they've been very clear about being a "minor" update, and they've already said a major version update is coming in March. Still, so far there are some nice little changes and I'm glad to get them sooner rather than having to wait for a full version update. So far we've had confirmation of:

The big ones:
- Increased exp outside of Abyssea
- Skillup rate/amount increases

The more minor adjustments:
- Reaquisition of TOAU rings. And new news today is that it works like COP, just have to drop item and talk to an NPC - not redo the final fight (unlike Divine Might/Apocalypse Nigh/mini-expansion rewards)
- Drop rate fixes/adjustments for Ironclad Triturator, Ironclad Sunderer, Apadema, Dragua, and Wieldance Cards
- Storage system adding more storable stuff
- Removal of level restrictions on nation storyline missions
- Cheaper Instant Retrace scrolls
- <petmpp> macro command
- Pet Food Eta recipe adjustment
- Minor fishing changes (rusty items consuming bait)
- /wait able to be added to the end of a macro line instead of taking a whole line
- PS2/360 version update downloading process improvements

Currently scheduled for the March update.
Playonline.com wrote:
Q: The area surrounding the Port Jeuno NPCs Joachim and Horst is constantly overcrowded. Are there any plans to alleviate this congestion?

A: In the next major version update, we intend to make the popular services offered by these two NPCs available across the three nations and places beyond. In so doing, we hope to resolve the issue of overcrowding in Port Jeuno.

As for the FoV changes:
Playonline.com in the same Q&A from above wrote:
Q: I'd like to undertake Fields of Valor training regimes more often than once per Vana'diel day.

A: We are moving to abolish the per-day training limit imposed upon Fields of Valor, and expect to be able to deliver this change ahead of the next major version update. The gil and tab reward allocated for the completion of each regime, however, will be issued no more than once per day.

I know they're going to do it, I'm just not sure when D: Replied to whilst I was in the postingness!
