No surprises, but not as specific about the xp / skill boost as I had hoped - can't wait to get into game~

Anyone else holding out on skilling/finishing subjobs knowing this was coming today?

Do you expect that at a certain level FoV will become mini-Dominion, with people forming alliances and just milking the FoV xp? Or do you imagine the xp comparative to just fighting mobs is so low or the source of prey so limited that it just wouldn't be feasible?

Left Staff/Club a few(actual) levels away from cap just so I could see how large of a change this will be. Also held off from leveling any sub hoping this would be amazing(I don't care if people leech, I just don't want to).

So glad to see Buffalo meat replace Ruszor meat for Pet Food Eta. They should actually be affordable now, compared to 80k or whatever they were selling for. 70 Ruszors for a trial and I only ended up with one meat, could kind of understand the price there. Someone in the Bst forum totally called this(And is prepared to make a killing after update I'm sure).

This is all stuff we already knew before, but I actually like that. Everything that they proposed(Even through twitter) for this update made it in, and though none of us has had a chance to test things yet, there is absolutely no downside to this update. No nerfs, no really bad changes. Just all good, somewhat small stuff.

Actually one downside I guess. Still no Paper Knife for AF weapon storage. Hard to believe they'd forget it twice...

I"m excited about the <petmpp> command.

It will let us test all jugs or pets for mp.

exp adjustments are the biggest part of this. One detail that jumped out at me also was getting traverser stones in bulk and putting FoV training and hunts on separate timers. Wasn't expecting those details.

"Some"? That's a painful understatement. I recently lost 50/50 temp items when I lost connection inside Abyssea and couldn't reconnect until my visitant was up. Yes, that's 50/50 as in every single temp item you can possibly have, including brew. Glad they are fixing this...

That was always possible. Either via Aspir or mage automatons casting Silence on a (potential) BST pet. (One of the big AI bugs: automatons casting Silence on anything with MP (like crabs or silence-immune mobs), but not non-MP spellcasters like NIN or BRD.)

It's a way bigger deal for PUP, since they can now see their pet mp on every maneuver macro. Used to have to go into the puppet equipment menu to find out my maton had 4 MP and thus would not Cure VI me...

I know its bigger on pup, but we could not check on jug pets before. unless going to ballista perhaps. I'm still interested, and there are plenty of bst still hoping for a hecteyes jug :P not likely, but I"m still hoping.

I have never seen anyone Fell Cleave Apkallu in Mis.Coast before...

SE at least felt that Ruszor meat was the biggest problem with the synth, so they adjusted it. Apkallu may end up becoming monsters after awhile, but there are far more of them available in different areas compared to the one type of Ruszor, which are just horrible right from the start(EP my ***). People are also far more likely to Exp on Apkallu compared to Ruszor, so the general supply(Without you farming yourself) should be higher.

It's still not an easy synth I guess, but better then it was before at least.

I cleaved Apaks a few times, good alternate if other misery coast targets are packed.

Abyssea Egg drop rate is indeed very poor, but elsewhere its not exactly low, even accounting the whole Apkallu hate thing.

Really, Ruzsor Meat was not worth the effort involved in farming for the quality of the food it made. I'm very happy about this change, and hopefully it will lead to affordable Eta on the AH.

My one reservation is that they should have kept the old recipee as an alternative option. Ruzsor meat has been rendered, once more, all but worthless.

Also, yay for <petmpp> at long long last! :D

So since I can't find it anywhere else I'll ask here: Has SE stated how long they think the servers will be down for this? Just curious when I can expect to jump back on.

All Worlds Maintenance was supposed to be from 08:00 to 12:00 PST, or about another hour and a half from this post.

I'm surprised the amount of Apkallu eggs available isn't higher, considering the popularity of Funereal Apkallu on my server, seems like a bunch of eggs should drop during pop item farming.

An omission I hope they remembered: update notice does not mention raising the per-kill softcap on xp. From wiki, that's 200/mob from levels 1-50, 250 from 51-60, 300 from 61-75. If the example given on twitter was an even match granting 200xp instead of 100, we're quickly going to exceed that softcap.

I doubt they would give game mechanics details. I just invites more demands for game mechanics details and leads to headache and trouble for them. Not worth the time/effort. Players will figure it out. It doesn't make any sense to raise exp/mob w/out raising soft cap.
