[dev1020] Walk of Echoes Battlefield Adjustments
A number of changes will be introduced to Walk of Echoes battlefields in the next version update:

•General

•The no-reservation system will be preserved.

•The once-per-Vana’diel-day entry restriction will be preserved.

•All PCs in a single battlefield will form an allied group, similar to Campaign battles.

•The spawn delay for subsequent waves of monsters in each walk will be reduced.

•The cutscene displayed upon receiving Kupofried’s medallion will appear only once.

•New upper-tier walks will be added.

•Evaluation and Rewards

•Evaluation conditions will be revised.

•The system providing exclusive rewards to only the highest-rated participants will be changed to one in which all characters rated above a certain level will qualify for extra spoils.

•Monster item drops and lottable spoils will be abolished.

•New rewards will be added.

•Coin drop rate will be increased.

•Difficulty Adjustments

•The linked enmity system will be revised.

•Characters who remain KO'd for 30 seconds will automatically receive a Raise effect.
•A possible time limit extension to 60 minutes is under consideration.

Looks good. It sounds like they are preserving the ability to team up with random people, but removing the competition aspect of it. Maybe the revised evaluation conditions will work like campaign like when you don't necessarily have to win to get any experience or drops from chests.

So does this mean you have to win a flux now in order to get coins?

This is nice. I've burned through so many reraise scrolls and earrings in WOE.

To bad no one cares... Fix your billing system SE and then worry about an event no one likes.

Hmmm. guess this means no more soloing or low manning if you can't win. The zone is pretty empty at times and was nice to be able to go in and at least attempt to get coins.

Great so the biggest complaint was about individual drops which players can't give to other people if they can't use them... and what does SE do? They add more individual chests and abolish regular monster drops. Brilliant...

They're making me really glad that I didn't bother with the new payment system.

The Dev team has nothing to do with billing.

What I got out of this wasn't that they were removing the coin drops from the regular mobs in there, since they in turn mentioned that they're increasing the drop rate for coins, but that they're removing the other drops that the mobs in there drop, such as Slime Oil off the slimes or Land Crab Meat off the crabs. From my limited experience with Walk of Echoes, it always seemed that the family specific item mentioned above shared the spot in the mob's drop pool with the coins (if the mob was going to drop something to the pool it'd either be a coin or the family specific item). It's possible then that SE is just removing those and likewise increasing the drop rate of the coins.

A bit late (because I've had no internet) but the complaint that you couldn't give individual drops to other players was only an issue because only 5 people got drops in the old system. This new system gives everyone drops as long as they grade above a certain threshold. So everyone will have a chance at coins now. It would be nice to be able to trade the coins but SE doesn't want them to be sold it seems so giving everyone a chance is better.
