FINAL FANTASY XI Moogle's Law Contest!
We're pleased to announce the first-ever Moogle's Law Contest! Throughout the years, we're sure adventurers all around Vana'diel have experienced certain "phenomena" that just seem to happen at the worst possible times. Think of the times when sneak and invisible start to wear off at exactly the wrong moment… Or when you're about to make a clean pull in Dynamis and a statue happens to cross your path…

To enter, all you need to do is come up with your own example of a "Moogle's Law"-type of scenario and post it on the forums! The Community Team will select three winners and award them with the coveted Nomad Moogle Statue in-game item, as well as the prestige of tweeting their "laws" from the official FINAL FANTASY XI Twitter account.

Speaking of the Nomad Moogle Statue, this is it in all its glory!

And to help get your creative juices flowing, the Community Team has come up with a few examples!

Camate: If you just ate 3-hour food, you're going to be KO'd in your first fight.
Rukkirii: Whenever you cast invisible and sneak, they will always wear off in the middle of a group of monsters aggressive to magic.
Bayohne: When rushing to an LS event, you're guaranteed to have forgotten to change from your BLM support job.
Hvinire: Someone will always forget they left their orb in storage until they arrive at the BCNM.

Have fun with your entries, we can't wait to read them!

I would recommend in the future that unless the title itself is just too long to fit in our subject line, that if you post a news article, you use the same title that Square Enix does, be it on Playonline or on their official forums.

You not posting the topic with the same title as Square Enix used on the Playonline site was probably the reason Jinte didn't notice it.

Pretty much this, when combined with the fact that it's 6am.

Also, I've already come up with my entry~

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

I do really like yours Jinte. I wouldn't be surprised if that one ended up being one chosen.

Here's my entry, for those who don't want to dig through the 18+ pages of the thread to find it

Mine was based on actual events from many years, many months ago, and just last week. Buried on page 14...

Then cast Thunder on it anyway."

That should win just for being the original 'adage du FFXI'.

Kind of annoying that it's restricted to US and Canadian players. It's an in-game item, so surely the contest could be opened to all players? It's not like they have to worry about postage!

They still have to worry about national laws regarding contests. It's often literally impossible for the same contest to be acceptable in more than a few countries at a time.

I remember when I used to collect baseball cards as a kid. Some of the companies would include scratch off cards that could be sent in for limited versions of the basic cards. On the back, the rules stated that if you lived in Canada, you had to fill in the blank on the following:
2 + 2 = ___

For all I know, you could have answered it incorrectly, and still met the legal requirements.

For some reason I was thinking of Charles Bronson beating up criminals in a giant furry moogle costume at an amusement park. "There's the law, and then there's his law... Moogle's Law!". No wonder it came to mind...

I believe in Canada there has to be some sort of skill component for contests. Otherwise it would be considered a lottery, which can only be run by certain groups and are subject to more strict rules. Something like that.

Complete guess but sounds believable to me.
