I did a little more looking and I don't think it's that worth it to me as a fisher. The cape is R/Ex, so I would have to simply sell the fish instead (like I already do with Lik and Gugrusaurus). I can't imagine there are enough Synergists on Asura that would spend potentially millions of gil to get the cape, especially since those with that kind of money probably already have max skill.

The fish is incredibly hard to hook, to get the bait for it you have to catch other legendaries and turn them in to Zaldon in Selbina for around 10% chance at getting a single bait. It's not like Gugru or Lik where you can use regular bait and an Albatross ring to keep them on, it appears this new fish doesn't even bite anything but Drill Calamary or Dwarf Pugil

What makes you think anyone would get it for lolsynergy? It's incredibly cheap and easy to skill. Every other craft on the other hand... not necessarily so.

Also, Matsya isn't a new fish; it's been in the game for a while, possibly since WotG release. It's just never had any purpose other than to be NPCd for 25~k until now.

While I like the concept behind them, I have to say that I don't really like them all that much, primarily due to the magic icons being such a muted color that they aren't as easily distinguishable if you're rapidly scrolling down your menu. The weaponskill and job ability ones I like, since at least there's something distinguishing them now, but I think the magic icons in particular could have had a bit more vibrant color to them.

Considering the cape is rare/ex, the fact that matsya npc for 25k, what's required to catch matsya in the first place, and the fact that there's absolutely no ******* way SE gave the cape a drop rate higher than 5% (1 in 20 matsya AT BEST), I'm afraid to even think about how outrageous the price for that **** is gonna be.


Honestly, I rarely ever use menus, and for the situations I do, it doesn't bother me at all, since the icons before weren't any use in differentiating the JAs/Spells anyway (ie: like trying to find a whm/pld spell, of which 80%(whm) to 100%(pld) had the same icon), so I've just gotten used to speed reading names and/or knowing where **** is.

Yeah I'm going to be selling them on a mule because of the price I'm going to charge. I get a lot of hate that way, but fairs fair. Theses suckers are a pain in the butt to catch.

I can't say anything, given what I charge for the jugs I go out of my way to farm mats for when I'm bored. I made so much money on Yuly jugs before they nerfed her TH, and hated every goddamn minute of farming those ******* lesser chigoes. I made some pretty nice pocket money this last week, too, but it involved farming Ziz (which was ******* horrible, mostly because Mamook just sucks, so it's hard to do /thf) so I've opted for a personal rule regarding making jugs for bst friends: "If you farm the obnoxious bits yourself, I'll make you as many jugs as you want. If you expect me to farm them, you're paying AH price and permitting me to ***** at you the whole time I do it." That said, all of my bst friends are cool people who would never ask me to farm something obnoxious like Ziz meat or Lesser Chigoes, so I doubt I'll ever put this rule to use, but god SE is ******* obnoxious with jug mats lately. Even the dumbed down Falcor jug is still a pain in the ***, because Blade Fish are a royal pain to catch (or at least, they are for me, they ******* refuse to bite)

If there's one type of pet bst needed, it was a generic war with a water alignment.
