I would hope there's gonna be new job point categories in this update D:
Greetings, adventurers! Matsui here with another version update preview. There’s only a few short days left, so let me give you a brief rundown.
Headlining the February version update content are new alluvion skirmishes in Yorcia Weald. I’m sure you all remember that existing skirmishes in Yorcia Weald [U] require players to protect a tract of land, and the new alluvion skirmishes build on that concept by having challengers summon friendly monsters to assault the enemies’ stronghold.
The key to victory lies in swiftly determining what your foes’ weak points are and summoning monsters that are capable of exploiting them to the greatest possible extent.
But what good is battle content without some juicy rewards? In this version, players can find weapons available in the old alluvion skirmishes—but they can be engraved with up to three types of arcane glyptics at a time. All-new armor also makes an appearance, with, again, up to three types of arcane glyptics that may be engraved at once.
Character-focused development for February centers on two new job point categories and seven new gifts per job. I hope that you will gather more capacity points and unlock additional gifts to help you get over the hump and conquer any content that has been vexing you.
Lest you think that everything is combat-focused, we also have several new elements in store for your Mog Garden. We’ve applied a bit of elbow grease to the area’s graphics and made a new monster rearing rank available. This new rank comes with it an entirely new section of the Mog Garden—the rearing grounds—and the ability to rear multiple monsters at once. Never again do you have to choose between one friend or the other! If that’s not enough, there are also new creatures available to take care of.
This version update is schedule to drop on Thursday, February 19, and we’ve got a fresh new promotional video for you to feast your eyes on.
As is customary, we’ve also prepared a table of all the content to be added, some of which continues to undergo testing. Please note that unexpected hindrances may pop up, causing some of these entries to be pushed back to a later date.

Legion tome page: minimus (18-man battle) for 180,000 gil Legion tome page: maximus (36-man battle) for 360,000 gil
I don't know, that seems rather expensive to me for a single go at the content. It wouldn't be expensive for a group maybe, and obviously if you were lowman you'd only spend the 180k, but that's still three times as much as Einherjar, whereas probably the only things you can even get from this that have any particular value anymore (Meteor/Arise, a low chance at Duplus Grip... any others?) all come from Hall of Mul meaning you'd need multiple wins just to try it.
Based on the horror stories I've heard about Legion, I'm not sure if it would be exactly that easy to do solo nowadays even with the new gear. Maybe a party might manage? Anyone tried? I just know that with the 180k price tag, I'm not going to be one of those people that tries >_>
It was a much better value when you had things like Ormolu, Penelope's Cloth, Staghorn Coral, Meteor, and Arise going for good prices. Not to mention things like Wyrdstrand and Thokcha/Palladian Brass that also had some value.

I've done it with a group since ilevel... um it was still challenging to kill monsters fast enough, I guess (I think we timed out before we had gotten everything but I dunno, I was just singing songs I have no idea how the event works) - the monsters themselves were not too bad I don't think... but nothing anyone wanted dropped... just eluders satchets for everyone.

Isn't legion ludicrously expensive? Or am I remembering wrong?
You are definitely remembering something else unless gil was particularly hard to come by for you/people you played with at the time.
Well at the time if you were going with a group - no that's not so bad, but what I had in mind was that price for someone soloing, seems pointless unless you're a blinkonaire
