Friends NPC is 31 and did not get this quest iirc. I could be wrong... its hella late.

My NPC is 37~38 (cant rember) and I got quest. Havent completed it yet cause of the retarted prices of the stuff you need.

I talked someone into making me some Bison Steaks for me, since he had Buffalo meat in stock. Boy was he pissed when he saw the 1000% markup in jeuno after he mailed me the steaks.

Activated this quest and my NPC is only 35.

Shame on all of you that participated in the price jump. Taking advantage of people like that.

Windurstians can get the steaks for 1/5th the Sylph AH price from an NPC

I'm assuming the gap is comparable on other servers.

I did this quest (NPC lvl36) and I noticed instead of just taking off headgear, now it lets you choose which piece to alter and what to alter it with.

Example; Before the quest, I would check appearances and it would ask to take off headgear or leave it alone.
Now it asks which piece(I only have headgear choice ATM) and then it asks what the headgear should be(only iron mask for me ATM).

I did notice more options under combat signals, like talk more during battle, whatever that means^^ 10 hours til I can test it out.

This quest probably gives new fighting styles:

- Stalwart shield style.
- Fierce attacker style.
- Soothing healer style

EDIT:
Nope - just finished it. But I got a new option "let's talk about quests". Gonna level NPC a bit.

last 10 sales in white bread went like this

7/25/03 >> 150 gil
7/25/03 >> 150 gil
7/25/03 >> 150 gil
10/10/05 >> 5,000 gil
10/10/05 >> 5,000 gil
10/10/05 >> 5,000 gil
10/10/05 >> 5,000 gil

Oh no! Now those darn gil sellers have cornered the White Bread market! :-p

I don't know which is more depressing; that people would over charge for such a simple item, or that people would actually pay those prices.

But whatever. As others have pointed out, such basic items such as White Bread can be easily bought from various NPC's, which I strongly encourage others to do. Don't support the greedy idiots that are out to make a quick gil.

I'd love to know what the new "dark" metals are used for, actually.
If they're useful, they may even give me reason to start the Smithing mule, especially if they gap nicely ;)

Everyone takes advantage of the markets, and everyone sells items for the most they can get out of it. If you sell items for less just to be "nice" (friends excluded) then you are the idiot.

The Dark Metals are used for the new AF+1 "quest" involving Limbus. Since you get those Dark Metals *in* Limbus and you can't AH them, safe to say they won't be used in any way for this quest.

The options to talk about quests and change Headgear were available before the quest was completed (I have my NPC set to Healer, and was only given the option to have him wear a bandana).

10,000 gil
10,000 gil

Ya I waited by the Culinary's Guild in Windy to open to the second to see what food they had. Went down the list skimming at quick pace and got to white bread rather quickly... "Unable to complete transaction."

Exited out and re-entered... they sold out! This wasn't even 30 minutes after the maintenance was done made me angry >.>

I tried to get the next quest today, no luck. No new text at Rondezvous Point, and no level up after fighting today. (But maybe they don't cap XP like PCs do.) I hope these quests aren't one every week after conquest update. >_<

Thank for the list.. PhoenixBurn.. but it isn't entirely accurate.

- White Bread/Sandy Tea is sold in Sandy only if Sandy is in 1st place.

- White Bread is sold in the cooking guild in Windy but gets sold out REAL quick now.

- Whitefish stew/Windy Salad is sold in the tavern in Windy only if Windy is in 1/2nd place.

Good luck!

Npc is level 50, did the quest. Took him out, looks like I can trade him something, since the option is available.

Haven't tried any new weapons, as neither he nor Luto mentioned it. I'm going out again first chance I get, in the hopes of hitting level 51.

I am dissapointed that his new chattines is so limited. He talked about talking all day, but only has about 3 or four sentences (that being one of them).

He mentions the Vender near the AH in rulude. Not sure if she's carrying more stuff, since she's a rare vendor that goes by day of week, time of day and moon. (I buy pumpkins there, and I just keep checking when I'm near ah.)

So, hope we get more to do than this before the next update, otherwise, I'm gonna be pretty bummed out.
