Is there an alternative for 40-44 in Castle Z on demons elementals?

This camp is extremely frustrating and I die a lot. :|

I read someones suggestion on doing worms in west Altepa. It took all of my MP pool to get it to 14%, so I don't know about that either...

Currently I am 41, and in limbo around 1.5k tnl because every time I gain 1k exp I die and lose it.

edit: managed to ding 42, Blizzard 2 helps, a LOT. But 2 more levels here = :(

I'm wondering about an alternative camp to Newton Movolpolos 64-70
myself, and I'm having the same problem with dying >.< you'd think at
64 I would have figured ways around this, but meh. I did Castle Z all
the way through from 40-44, and I started out with that death problem.
Once you get used to the camp, and the types of eles, it gets alot easier.
And yeah, Blizzard 2 really did make a difference. Dark Elementals, and
Light Elementals became the bane of my existance for awhile there.
(Light Eles at the next camp) Hope you get passed the deaths and to 44
I didn't find an alternate for that level =(

are there other camps in Pso'Xja besides the one mentioned because everytime I try to lvl there's already people at the camp killing the bat?

I don't think so, I ran around quite a bit in there cause the camp was taken too, and I didn't see any other bsts. But wow... 11k per hour at lvl54, no wonder this place is overcamped

You zone a non-bst goblin and you let it depop. (or you kill it) and you hope that the next goblin that pops is a bst.
i'm not sure on the depopping, but when you kill them the odds are good that another job pops.

Hello!

i'm quite new to soloing as a blm. But i've been getting some quite nice exp on my two first camps (Yhoator jungle and Bibiki Bay). I'm 32 right now, and i need some advice for a camp^^

I checked Beaucedine Glacier(camp 2) and i couldn't find the Rime Gigas (there was a Sleet one there). How can i make the Rime pop? The zone is quite far and i think there is no way for me to kill the Sleet Gigas. I Checked some Goblin's gigas on the region aswell, even killed 2, but its too much work to avoid the other gobs at the area(at the third one i got aggroed, and just warped).

edit: went there again with a friend. We kept killing the gigas popping at I-9. Killed around 8 time, and everything but Rime poped. Is it just bad luck? hehehe

Thanks for any reply.

Is there an alternate camp around 56? Pso'Xja has been occupied most of the times that I'm wanting to solo and I've had to get lucky to get down there. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I just saw that someone else just asked this, so sorry for the repetition!

Just a small comment here:

The camp 38-40 posted by Mattnumbers at Xarcabard with giga's tiger might be good. But there are actually two downsides. One is you most likely need to convert the gigas there, and the other is that the cave is a Dark Elemental spawn area. Curious enough, it doesn't show as that on the maps from ffxi-atlas. The least i can say is: The thing popped behind me when i was just hanging around the cave (because i needed to convert the gigas hehehe - good thing, i was lucky not to be caught casting things).

wow, and thx! i did BLM years ago the old fastion way when they were "needed" in a pt. Im doing SCH now and i figured i'd give this a try. im 54SCH and im able to do Pso'Xja solo with NP at all. stone3, thunder 2 and pretty much anything 1 takes it down, i just got xp chain 2 for 312 w/o ring so its almost as good as 75BLM solo thus far.

if you're going to try sch, i have to recommend /RDM for grav. in Pso'Xja
there is enough room in that little tiny camp (1 by guide) to kite it.

ty ty ty because i will NOT tp burn, bunch of mindless melee swinging around their slongs, err, i mean swords, = no thanks.

thanks again !!!!

I have been leveling off of Tonberry Elementals in the Temple of Uggalepih @ (K-3) for 40-43 so far. Getting 44 then I'm am getting out of here! I hate elementals... This camp rocks, I am right at a zone for those just in case situations, and the only threat besides the pets master is an occasional Torama that roams the hallways. And for the record, I HATE Castle Zvahl Baileys... So much death there, it made my feel good hurt :(

Edit for a spelling mistake :P

Hi,

Not sure if anyone has tried or found a camp in the past but i was on my way to Garlaige Citadel (S)as my lvl 57 rdm and noticed a goblin beastmaster (Goblin Guerrilla) wondering around (I-9) had a VT beetle for its pet. I could see you could camp up top on the ledge where the mew is and pull it up to there or at the end of the path towards Meriphataud Mountains (S). The only problem i noticed was an Earth element spawns around (moves between H-9 and I-9) that area and there is a few EP beetles that might link with it if you pull from H-9 side of the goblin. Anyway just something i noticed and thought i'd post about it as would make an ok camp for 56-59 maybe.

Also notice another Goblin beastmaster in Rolanberry field (S) its pet checked as DC at lvl 57 rdm. Cant remember its name but it was wondering about K-9. there was another Goblin near by but the leeches near it did'nt aggro and there is plenty of room to move about. Its pet is a crawler type mob. As its DC to 57 i will go check it on another job till i can get a rough idea of its lvl. Maybe could be a spot from lvl 40+ im not sure

added goblin's name

I just tried this. Normally this would be a nice camp. I had earth weather up and didn't see too much of a problem with the elemental. BUT, hitting the beetle with Aero 3 (454 damage), sleep 2, then freeze (861 damage) only took it down to around 60%. That (if i did my math right) would but them around 3000 HP. So I don't see it being a viable solo camp. Duo/trio... maybe? Mob checked Tough as 59 BLM.

I'm at 58 and finding myself stuck. I can't find a Flood scroll on AH or I'd be willing to pay for it, and camping it is really daunting to me since the drop rate is horrendous. I tried to solo in Newton and it was a disaster. The Bibiki camps are usually taken. I'm afraid to try fleas since chigoes are a pain. Does anyone else have a good suggestion for something that worked well at this level?

Yer i lvl'd up to 59 rdm and got a friend to come help me duo these. There is a better camp for one but you get to this one via GC(S) exit. Avoids the element completely. Also means can zone into GC(S) if you link goblin by mistake.

I know it'd been mentioned before that there is a camp in Western Sarutaburata(s) for lvl 54-57ish. But I found one in the same area thats actually nicely setup too to lvl from 57-59. If you head all the way to the gate blocking entrance into Giddeus, that's your new camp. There is a Yagudo Mendicant there that is at least 2 lvls higher then the others in the area, at lvl 57 his elementals are always T and worth 160-200 xp. You need Tornado and Burst to make this work right. Cast burst on Fire/Wind elementals, and Tornado on Earth and you should one shot them all. And since you can get Sigil refresh this is a much better camp at 57 the Pso'Xja.

Cookies: Add to HMP. Also, Cinna-Cookies give you the "Vermin Killer" job trait, which could come in handy when fighting Bees and Leeches.

It's probably been said already, since this thread's hit 6 pages, but leeches are amorphs and not vermin.

If it's been said already, ignore this post.

Mellowy is awesome, now.

Currently lv 57 and been soloing since lv 51 with only occasional duos/trios and 1 party.

This guide has been great so far!
I can still do 1 more lv in psojxa, but its going slow.

I was camping a beadaux key for a friend of mine and we were killing sapphires, but flood did not drop. Might have to go back there for flood to close the link between 58-60. Then off to bibiki bay!

I've tried Bibiki a couple of times and I'm having difficulty with the goblin following me after I pull the rabbit. I'm puzzled as to how to pull since I'm waiting until after it's done moving and the goblin has his back entirely turned. How can I pull more effectively so the goblin doesn't follow after me and kill me?

The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah was a pain in the *** from level 34-36 I had to compete with everything on my server...for some reason every job went there to kill things and only a couple would acknowlegde what I was doing and would leave the traders alone...I'm just posting this to say I'm glad to be out of that area

The Bibiki camp at F-7 south with all the cactii is rough. The pet sometimes will take an odd path and you'll get the goblin with it. Just be patient and make sure you nuke it when it's in a position where that's not a problem. Use a Tier 3 as your first nuke (Stone III, Water III, Aero III), then Sleep 2, then use Ancient Magic.

The north/east camp is a lot easier because there's not much cactus to cause weird problems in the path that the pet runs to you.
