Like the subject says,

Just like you helped to fix the congestion on the other NMs by creating three ???s, please for the love of Krishna bring down the pop times on the Tier II VNMs in Abyssea.

Not only do you have people who want the VNMs for certain seals, but you have people hounding them for T3 pops for various things.

15 minutes per pop is just too long! Especially when you are competing with droves of people all wanting the same NM, but for different reasons. Often people are too suspicious to {Team up?} - or when they aren't they are too impatient to proc !!s if they are wanting T3.

Or perhaps create multiple T2 pops? Just like you have multiple T1s, surely it can't be problem.

This would suit everyone who would be interested in the NMs, and would detract from no one!

Something certainly needs to be done.

On a recent LS event we went to [A] Grauberg to try and convert T2 pops into T3 pops. We'd done a quick search of the other zones and there were people with comments to say they were doing T2's in both Altepa and Uleguerand. When we got into [A] Grauberg we came up against 2 other groups of players that we hadn't expected to find. When it was suggested we all band together they weren't having any of it either. All we wanted was to convert T2 to T3 so we could have a crack at getting some colorless souls. We asked politely but both the other groups we came up against refused to team up. They were only interested in seals, you'd think it'd make sense to have us join them as we didn't want the seals but it didn't happen, no matter how many times we asked.

Needless to say we spent a very long and boring 2hrs in Abyssea and came out having managed to get a total of 2 pops along with a handful of seals we gave away to the other groups anyway as no-one needed them and guess what? That's right! The T2's didn't convert to T3 pops anyway! I can think of other ways I'd rather waste my evening.

Come on SE, pull your finger out on this one please!

You have to admit, it does take a degree of trust in another group to be willing to team up like that. Between hate mechanics, proc system, and lotting system, there's a lot of ways for players to screw each other over, either over drops or simply just to grief others for no apparent reason. Teaming up in a situation like this isn't a slam dunk, no reason not to decision. It's a choice that has an upside, but also carries some risk.

In before "BALANCE!" is the new PS2 Limitations.

Overall, I'd agree the VNMs need to respawn faster and perhaps have multiple pops. The other part of me wants to think that, while a bit inconvenient, the spawning areas need to be a bit more randomized. I still suspect there are tools out there that let people "see" them and thus pop more easily, but you certainly won't get people to admit it and risk forfeiting their edge.

Were it in my hands, I'd basically leave the T1s as is. Once you get a KI upgrade, you can go to a Stable Fissure, multiple in the zone, where the KI is exchanged to pop the T2. Upon defeat, you may get the T3, thus prompting you to head to the Unstable Fissure and pop the T3. Each fissure could pop 3 of an NM, and with maybe 3 of each fissure in a zone, congestion shouldn't be too bad.

In addition to what's been mentioned in this topic already (all of which I wholeheartedly agree with), putting seals on the T2s was just a bad idea to begin with. IIRC there are "tier I" NMs in each of the Heroes zones that do not drop any seals; for instance, Altepa has Waugyl. Seal drops should be moved to those NMs and off of the VNMs.

OK, now that I think about it, they're probably that way to make it such that body seals only drop off NMs that are a little harder to pop than merely needing a single pop item off NQ mobs. Still though, I believe putting seals on the T2 VNMs was a great way to encourage bottlenecking, and I still think they should be moved to other NMs.

... but Waugyl is killed for a repeatable quest that drops body seals. That's the only way to complete the quest, and the only part of the quest, so he effectively does drop body seals for the entire party, albeit in a more convoluted way.

Quests don't really count in my eyes @_@ No group capable of fighting would be fighting that NM to try to get their seals anyway, unless they were absolutely retarded.

Fine, want a better example? Anemic Aloysius.

Or very, very desperate. Honestly, I've given up the dream of having any Empy body pieces because of the bottleneck that exist in trying to get them.

Some members of my LS said it best: "It's far easier to get +2 drops than +1!"

It really is, especially for bodies/hands where the +1 NMs are capable of dropping fewer seals and the body NMs take more effort/items/gil to pop. Several NMs have guaranteed +2 drops and if you grellow them you'll get even more. With +1s, you can grellow a NM several times and still not get any of what you want.
