That a fine player has left the game.
When I first picked up the NA release of FF, I was fortunate to receive a linkpearl and 1k gil from a slick taru named Fortlag.
I was a level 3 BLM at the time, and was honored to become a member of Burnination.
There, I met great peeps...Blueriver, Cadant, Stryknine, Fortlag...and the subject of this post...Viledarkness.
"teh Darkness" as I referred to him, was a do anything, go for it kind of player. He couldn't sit still with one job...he leveled his MNK, his SAM but mostly his PLD. We had many great times camping the Chyme, getting the monuments for that old fool in Selbina and just general silliness that made the game fun. We traveled far and wide, (most of the time almost ending in {death}) but it was always a good time.
When Burnination seemed to disolve, Vile and I formed a new LS, DynastyOverlords. We brought in our boys...Stryk, Blue, Bloodreign, Goodboy and a host of others. A fun loving LS that didn't take a whole lot too seriously. Bloodreign transcended and became a 74 BLM, Stryk became a 68 RDM and others in my LS kept hard at. Vile however, started to stall...RL was calling him...and he answered.
Soon, DO was merged with Alumina...a GREAT LS with great players.
I already owe them a lot. They have helped me accomplish things I have dreaded in this game...but one thing is missing...
Teh Darkness.
I can't take away from the peeps I have known and still know...I have the fortune of knowing more good then bad players. And for fear of missing one I can not name them all. But...
Teh Darkness...Steve...my young brother..I want to wish good luck and fortune...and again, I want to tell Bismarck, about a great PLD, a great player and a great dude...that will never grace the server again.
Raise your glasses, hit your bong and toast a mad playa wit da skillz..

...It's always emotional when our FFXI friends bid us adieu for RL matters, but the memories shared will always allow them to live on in Vana'diel.

ah yes, vile. i knew him. we exped together, we farmed together, and we goofed off together. he was a great person and will be missed.

Indeed our brother Vile will be missed.
He is the first friend I made in FFXi. When I was a young Tarutaru I wanted to be a Monk and as I solo'd in Ghelsba I came across this Galka Monk and we started talking. Next we partied just the 2 of us and from there out we didn't get a point of XP without partying together. We proudly wore the Burnination Orange LS and invited just about anyone that seemed loyal and true.
When we reached 30 I fell out of FFXi myself due to RL. I dropped off the FFXi planet for 6 months easily and Burnination disappeard, not that I was suprised but it was saddening. The few times Vile and I have run around together in the past year were exciting and nothing could depress me more than the day I got the email saying he was leaving.
We've been around for a while Vile, we've seen them come and go, I bet you never thought the day would come that I stopped logging in, I too never thought I'd see you stop. I hope that someday when your RL issues are resolved that we can see you again. Until then we will have our stories, the "remember when's".

Ya that {******* Sword} had to go and quit the game. He's too busy with his GF and pounding back the bubblies. He knows he can use my account anytime to log in and say hi to some old chums anytime. I'll let him know to read the server forums I'm sure he'd appreciate this post very much Diss.

There are many good ppl on FF and like Diss said; I've been fortunate to have run into quite a few of them.
It was very hard to leave teh game not cause of teh game itself but because of teh good ppl I came to know.

...Been on vacation and didn't see post, but I can't let it go without giving my best wishes to teh dark also. Me and Diss started at the same time and seems like Vile and Stryk were always there to help teh noobs ( us ). Vile, you handsome SOB - don't forget we still have e-mail addys :) Miss ya already bro....
