This thing is a joke. I killed it easily as 50DRK/25THF. It got me down in the yellow, but I started with about 2/3 HP and another giant linked with it. All it dropped were those damn socks. I was hoping for somthing better, (maybe that cool lookin axe it had) but no dice. Not worth camping, but if you see it, you might as well kill it if you're high enough lvl.

lol a long long long time ago when i was still newb in qufim i saw this dude.. LOTs of ppl gathered around to see the commotion and then he uses his warstomp and kills like 3 spectators in red HP, guy called for help of course and about 20 of us, mostly newbs just rush in to the "Slaying of the great beast known as Epialtes", lots of wimps who didnt wanto die from voking a call-for-help NM, so he switched targets whenever he wanted, it was slowly dying tho, i think cause sum high lvl blm nuked, and when we killed it 3 more person died, all them lvl 20s lol. nohing drops, DUH and sumone shouted: great, multiple death and a high lvl lost his kill. ppl started to agree with him. i think thats true but, jeez be more joyful, us newbs just gang raped a NM, be proud :D

wheres this NM spawn at in the tower?
I can take this guy out as a 50pld/15thf in about 3minutes pretty easy NM but i usually get socks ; ;
Saw this NM while Farmin in Lower Del. Got some Socks, a Necklace, and Gigas Bracelets. Decent fight for a 42Mnk/20 Thf w/ 1/3 HP to Start :P

Too bad this NM doesn't drop anything good.
Killed one today.
Someone pulled it to the zone and i suddenly passed by so I thought that person needed help so I provoked it.
Than I noticed that it was a NM.
I used my 2 hour skill, Meat mithkabob, warcry and berserk to kill it.
I am a lvl 41 war/nin.

Too bad this NM doesn't drop anything good.

My taru blm butt got whomped by this guy earlier this evening in the tower when i thought that it would be a brilliant idea to "Elemental Seal" + "Sleep II" this guy while i waited for some friends to make their way back down from the Upper tower.
apparently, this guy didnt like sleep all that much and decided bang me around like a little dog toy along with five other of his giant friends. i begin casting warp II and manage to cast it only to end up having him get in one last crit hit (remember, tarus dont have much in the way of hit points) and i zone into lower jeuno dead as the torrent on a friday. i leveled down but a kindly pld gave me a raise so i wont have that much exp to make up tomorrow ^_^
Moral of the lesson: NMs DO NOT TAke sleep very well, and if i had known that this NM only drops crap i would still be level 42.
P.S. PLD with raise rule!! Be wary of the dunes all you 50+ pld out there, all the noobs will be after you now ;)

apparently, this guy didnt like sleep all that much and decided bang me around like a little dog toy along with five other of his giant friends. i begin casting warp II and manage to cast it only to end up having him get in one last crit hit (remember, tarus dont have much in the way of hit points) and i zone into lower jeuno dead as the torrent on a friday. i leveled down but a kindly pld gave me a raise so i wont have that much exp to make up tomorrow ^_^

I beat this with a party of 6 we're all aroujnd lvl 23 anyways i got both the drops giga socks and shield he was fun and we found it wasn't that much harder then a reg giga anyways he's the first nm i've ever beaten so even though i don't think his items are great I'm still gonna brag {^.^} Plus he totally looks awesome and epialtes is a cool name just wish the items were as good as the name
Was meeting a party yesterday morning and saw this ******* in the main corridor. Took me to 46 HP in 2 hits. I promptly proceeded to haul *** outta there.
Killed this guy today with my leveling party.

It was a tough fight, it was chain #4 for us, so we had recieved about 230 EXP. Other than that, completely useless, just an entertaining thing to do though. I used my 2 HR, as well as the higher level BLM using his.

This NM doesn't seem to drop anything worth waiting for. Gigas socks go for around 2k, not sure about the necklace but not much more. Don't bother unless you run into him and are confident in your abilities to defeat him.

Haha this guy sucks. I was in party the other night and we saw him standing there. Feeling ambitious we decided to take him out. Fairly easy for party of 6 at lvl 24. Anyways, we kill him and I get both drops ! Gigas necklace and socks. Go back to AH thinking I have loads of money. Oh how I was wrong! Could have been worse, ended up getting 3k combined but give me a break. He's worthless!
I was just testing out my new WS Vorpal Blade on my Lv60 Paladin on Giants inside the tower and saw this guy.
I Sneak Attack for like 250 damage then use Vorpal Blade for 625 damage... XD
Couple more hits and he was down.
He dropped the socks and the shield.

Also drops Gigas Bracelets (I killed it and got those as well as necklace and socks) Not worth camping but certainly worth killing if you see him as he can drop 10k worth of stuff (of course, I have TH2 so you may not get as many drops as I did)

This NM is garbage. Aside from looking like the badass godfather of all Gigas, he's completely useless. I was leveling off of giants in the tower, and I was pulling for the PT. As i was rounding a corner, i see "Kirkx slaps Epialtes" I assumed the Epi in question was some player that had been annoying Kirk. Long story short, i shrugged it off, hit my ranged macro, pulled a giant lobber, and ran back to the Pt. As i round the corner, This muhfugger aggros me. didn't hit me wickedly hard, but i could see he was more than I could handle, PT or no PT. So, i hit a macro to let everyone know I was zoning him, and did so. Some RDM in Af slaughters him, then /tells me everything is clear. Back to business as usual. Case in point, if you see this guy, unless you're feeling brave, just call for a high level to demolish him, as he doesen't drop anything even moderately useful. no point in wasting time having a leveling PT in the tower waste energy on him.

My brother was fighting in Qufim and all of a sudden 3 people in a party were in the tower and called for help. They shouted "Help NM in the tower". So my brother took off towards the tower and went inside. When he enterd the tower he saw Epialtes! So he went up too it to find that on the other side a 2 level like 55 guys where killing him. I have one suspision. Why did they calkl for help when they two others already had owned it? lol whatever good luck!
I owned this NM with my lvl 46 DRG/ 30 THF. Easy as pie, think I lost like 100 hp, I dodged a lot though. Got maple shield and gigas socks. A nice NM just to randomly kill while doing rank 4.

story time:
me (30war/15whm) and my friend (29war/15whm) (dont comment on our subs less down time) were geting ready to do the bst quest and my friend needed to get up to level 30 so me and him went to the tower and started taking out some giants for around 20-40 exp a fight. i was the one pulling and i ran foward into the open area and notcied a funney colored one runing stomping around and i checked it and saw the words. Impossoble to Gauge and im like holy ****. then i asked him if he wonted me to pull it or not and he said he dident care so im like what the hell im right by the zone lets try it. so i grabed it with dia (whm sub) and ran for dear life. so we were fighting it at the zone he was beating the **** out of us so i 2 houred. then he got us low on hp and we were out of mp so we zoned.
then once we got fully rested we zoned agin and ther he was walking away. and i wonted some reveng so i found this level 47 rdm running aroun and asked her to help us kill him so we could have the drop (really just woned him dead for safer pulling) so she joined us beat the crap out of him though she did get in the low yellow and got the lame socks. they go for about 2k on slyph server so i sold them and split the profit with my friend

I was doing the rank 4 mission with a couple of high levels, when we came across him. We beat him fairly easily. He only dropped the socks.
our PT was just pwned by this dudeILL COME BACK FOR REVENGE WITH MY DRK U *******!!

I killed him today and got Giga's Bracelets.
I was running around Delkfutt's with Tonko: Ichi/Silent Powder when I saw this thing from the corner of my screen. I realized it wasn't an ordinary mob ^^; so I went up to it for some screencaps.
Unfortunately I wasn't the one who got to try and take it on, a Drg in AF ran in front of me to kill it.
Oh well, I didn't know it was 28-32. But I was ready to fight to the death either way Xx

i just took this thing on in a party of 23's
we had 2 blm 1 whm (25) (all with the appropriate sub) a mnk a nin (with no utsemi) and myself, we got beaten quite badly especially becuase our whm was not a taru so he lacked mp but it was still a fun fight, he conned Impossible to gauge for us but we took him on and did quite well, we took him halfway and then either died or had to zone but in all it was fun and i will definately fight him again
