Being your typical blu I want to fight this for stinking gas.. I have only fought it once and I waited 3 hrs for another, without a pop. It wasn't too bad as a 50blu/25whm. It was EP and gave me about 30xp. He never did stinking gas though (as seems to be the theme with these mobs). I did let him beat on me until I was close to death without him doing it, too. I guess I'll wait a couple of levels and try GC again.. Any blu's having luck with this guy? I have only seen it one other time, but was a scared lvl 30 rdm at the time, heh.

Been hunting this mob for awhile now as my 44 blu. trying to learn Stinking Gas from it. checks as Even Match to me as lvl 44 blu but not a hard fight at all if you have gear on that gives you more then mining gear. also trying to learn its spawn time since i cant seem to learn stinking gas from it in one fight. Will post its spawn time back here for all the other blu's who might need this when i get it.

i whipped its behind as a lv56DRG/28War... did 1000 with penta thrust but the best part was he did 0 damage to me when i had lv45 gear... lmao what a weakling.... anyways it droped undead skin and the tree root.... damn i was hoping for a clay amulet

be extra carfull when fighting this mo-fo. galka MNK/54 in mining gear (not good) for fighting. Mid fight it uses a strange skill "Call of The Grave" ( any BLU that could fill me in , please do)drops my INT @.@ psh , I didnt care to check by how much. the next 2 strikes it takes at me where crits 179 and 205, im in the red now. finally take it down and get a dark cystal, 37 exp, and keep 325 of 1315 of my hp. o.o This thing has hitting just ans hard as i was. Next time i fight that ugly *******, its gunna beg for mercy MWUHAHAHA. HAHAHA.

I tryed running through Gusgen Mines by myself to do the Teleport-Holla quest i beleive. Well on my way this tubbalard was in my way, being reckless and overconfident as usual I buff up, voke it, and hope for the best. Well after the first hit I knew I was in a little trouble, 100+dmg on a 31 PLD don't go good together, expecially assuming you have a lazy PLD whos wearing Beetle Armor cause he didn't wanna run to San d'oria for his Eisen Armor, well it pounded the crap out of me, and I HPed... brought a high level RDM with me, not a trace of it... and I havent seen it to this day, I wanna pound the **** outta this thing one day.
It seems these are not as rare anymore. I have seen at least one nearly every time I have mined in Gusgen of late. I have seen three together at once, crammed wall to wall in a tunnel.
Sneak will get anyone by them. But at LVL 52 they'll aggro me instantly without it, and hit FAST (with their tongues.)
Two nights ago I DC'd while mining a point right in front of a Foul Meat. Knowing that they are rarely killed and therefore sit there almost forever, and that my Sneak would be gone when I logged back in, I got a LS friend to distract it. (In field clothes I don't have enough defense to risk taking one on.) She wasn't sure she could take it, so we counted down for me to log back in (having been chatting on a mule), and as I appeared she Flashed him which gave her time to Warp and me time to Sneak.
I'm not sure about the spawn points on the map, as I have seen them in F8, and they don't seem to wander far when they do spawn. The one in the lower right of I-9 spawns directly under a drop hole from the floor above (I6 on the map with 5 large rooms).

I was in the back portion of Gusgen Mines for two hours yesterday, and never saw a single one of these. I was alone in the mines, with the exception of the level 50 RMT's that can't kill these, so I know nobody was killing them.
I have seen this back there before, and I am well aware of the spawn points. Every time I see it, it's always by itself and I never see another one while I'm there. Three at once? I'm sorry, I'll believe it when I see it. It may be an issue with placeholders, or some other nonsense, it's hard to say for sure.
On a side note...it's kinda funny to watch a level 50DRG RMT engage these and instantly realize they've made a horrible, horrible mistake.
Well yah ... me and a friend were farming chips and came accross this guy (con EP to me lvl 55 THF). well me and my friend killed it no prob... but man it took my SA + Raging Fist like candy... i hit it for a little over 600 and took out only 1/4 it's life ><
well we will be killing it next time we see it ... maybe drop a SC on his azz for all the people who may have died to it ^^

Man, I've been mining in the Gusgen mines forever, I've *never* seen this thing...and I dropped right on top of it! Scared me half to death, but luckily it didn't aggro. I got far enough away from it to cast sneak, and I was fine...but Wow!
Yeah, that was my first experience with this thing. Gusgen mines are freaky enough as it is, and when I first stumbled across this ******* my immediate reaction was "OMG what the hell is THAT!?!"

Yeah; Foul Meat are rare spawns not Notorious Monsters.

Damn this mob was hard. Although I was using my mining gear. I was a lvl 51pld/25war, It brought my life down to 124 before i killed it eventually. Note: Dont fight this when you don't have any gear on.(obviously)^^

Tried to kill it, but since I had no weapon or armor other than mining gear, wound up being a Foul Meat VS Wyvern battle. Good thing my Wyvern kicks so much ***. Clay Amulet and Revival Tree Root drop. Amulet goes for about 20k every 6 months or so on Gilgamesh. What a waste of time =/

Fought this as a lvl 51 Ranger, took me down to 8 hp before I killed it, used Barrage and Eagle Eye Shot. It dropped an Undead Skin.
The map you have says "Faul Meet" but the screenshot says "Foul Meat" :P
Not a particularly drastic problem though

Foul Meat isn't a NM, it's just a very rare spawn.
