I made one of these on my first try with the image synthesis boost thing from the guild and i only have a 3 skill so its a good synth for anyone with a warrior.
This item is sometimes requested from the Goldsmithing guild.

im makein good money off these.... Got 2 stacks of Fire Crys for 8k....
Mined the Zinc and Bought Copper 9 Gill A Piece
Which ends out to be 324...
Then i made 12 Axes and sold them for 2k a Piece on Bahamut!
Do the math....
about 9k of Materials .... .24 K of Gill out...
Not to mention the 2 Gild Levels i got!!

if you really want to get technical u have to add the price of the pickaxes u used to mine the zinc :P.
Today I found Ciqala in a Bastok Markets shop , but this NPC did not have the Brass Axe for sale , only a Bronze Axe .

this is a good item for a goldsmith...kill for zinc, copper, and fire crys. buy bronze axe for 300 gil...craft and you can sell it (on asura) for 1500
