Fonk you are such a moron. Don't flame innocent people.
There is nothing wrong with camping an NM with the intention of making money.
If you are not happy about it being sellable then blame Square... it has nothing to do with the people who camp it.

So you can't get the bow, so what? Tough. Move on. Stop flaming.

Yah I was just frustrated when I wrote that, stressing about trying to finance ranger and all that while still being 'good.' If my original post was still anywhere to be found I'd edit it out and replace with an apology. I'm not gonna say I'm a fan of having to compete with non-rangers for a ranger only item, (I still think that's kind of sh*tty), but only because it makes me waste my time.. But again, I apologize, whoever I flamed, I apologize.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 20 2005 at 9:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hmm.. A non-ranger camping a ranger only item... You are the kind of person I hate. This item should REALLY be EX so that jackasses like you won't camp this item 24/7/365 just to make some gil. There are struggling rangers(like me) out there, that after 54 levels(42 that needed shihei) of dishing out cash on arrows and expensive food(curry/chiefs) and gear(hairpin, noct +1 set, leaping boots, +1 versions of all bows) simply don't have the time or effort to camp this NM with such a small chance of claiming it and getting the drop. If it were EX and only RNG were camping this item, we wouldn't have to worry about greedy jackholes like you reducing our odds by so much that we just settle for War Bow+1 or Musk. Gun(with sharply expensive ammo). I really can't wait till I'm able to use the O-Bow.

Lol yet another crybaby who don't understand the simple fact that ANYONE has as much right to camp NM for drops as anyone else...

A 10mil item is worth 10mil to a thf who just camps and sells it, it's also worth 10mil to a rng who use it since you'll save outflows of 10mil and still get this great item. No one, no job, no race alone deserves to camp any NM more than everyone else, it's a fair competition world so live with it.

Ummm... ya, why dont we, at the same time, turn ALL notorious monster drops to rare/ex. I mean, all monks and samurais need O Kote, all melees should have leaping boots and emperors hairpin, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah.

If you dont want to farm for the bow, then camp it. There are other ways of making money, and Notorious monsters are one of them, plain and simple. You dont NEED this bow, in fact O Bow has been parsed to do more damage/fight than E bow... And how many rangers are there above level 55 that dont have this bow? And of that less than 1% of people who DO have this bow, you can bet that ALL of them have ALL +1 equipment.

And, as a final point, did you farm for your leaping boots and hairpin? Or camp the NM's? I am willing to bet that you camped the NM.

I'm getting frustrated by this mentality. No one NEEDS an O Kote, Emp. Hairpin or Leaping Boots. If that actually were the case, there would be far fewer lv 75 characters. I've used a pin and boots (I'm a 52 Rng) and I never saw much difference. I'll be honest, I am salivating over the prospect of a Eurytos' Bow in a few levels, but when I think about it, this, like many other uber items, is more of a status symbol than an actualy necessity. Makes me think that people that say they NEED a Hairpin, Leaping Boots, O Kote and 2 Sniper's Rings are candidates for putting spinners on a Civic.
RE: jackasses
# Feb 04 2005 at 5:05 PM Rating: Default
it's a fashion statement (>'-')>

well yea leaping boots are ridiculous, but hairpin on nins and o kote on mnks the difference is evident.
and from what i hear Ebow is 100% noticably better, people should kinda stop drooling on posts and skwerming on otheres that they need these items... another fancy item to have is a PPA which can jump your sidewinder by 100-200 fyi ^^

after 29 days....camping the nm i finily got the drop. i claimd about 20 times and got 1 bow ;;. the only times i didnt camp the nm was...well slep for one maybe a fiew partys and maybe after he pops id go and farm just a lil. the ironic thin is...im not a rng >_<. just wanted to camp him and rub it in im my ls's face. (my ls is really cool and they say/do funny things)

im planing on leveling my rng but im not shure if im gana go to, or farther then 50. well im gana keep it for a little cuz i read a little lower down
i sold it for a merely 2.8mil gil.
now on alexander its 7.5mil-8mil and going up.

sorry to hear that. i like to invest in the "stock market" (buy an item and hope the price sky rockets) so im gana keep it for about a week and if the price doesnt go up more then ill sell it.

rate up ^_^

This thing sells for 6-8 million on the Shiva server.

A guy in my LS has been camping this guy for ages at least once or twice a week, and so far not a single drop. :/

Well, my hubby solo'ed this beast with his 59rng/29nin, he switched back and forth between his cross bow with bloody bolts, and sleep arrows. and it is the best bow in the game, and much cheaper to use than a high level gun. I know a gun out damages the bow, but e-bow with scorpion arrows is good enough, add to that either meat chief kabobs or a t-t salad and that ranger is rocking.

The Story of Eurytos' Bow

The original story of Eurytos and his great bow lies in the realm of ancient Greek literature. Legend holds that, Eurytos of Oikhalia was a great archer, the best for miles and miles. Eurytos was such a talented archer that it was said that he vied with the gods in bowmanship. One day, Eurytos' pride got to him and he decided to challenge the Greek god Apollo (a god whose title was ("The Distant Deadly Archer.") to a contest in Archery. Greek gods did not appreciate whe they were challenged by mortals. Thus, "Eurytos came to grief, it's true... Apollo took his challenge ill, and killed him." Eurytos' bow was given to his son Iphitos.

Fast forward to homer's epic, The Odyssey, which happen to chronicle the adventures of (surprisingly) Odysseus on his way home from the Trojan War. Odysseus was gone for 10 years fighting a war and another 10 years trying to get home. While he was gone he left his wife and newborn son at home on the island of Ithaka. Odysseus was the king of Ithaka, and as such when Odysseus hadn't returned after 10 years of war, other men began to encroach on his household. They eat all of his food, torment his young son Telemakhos, and destroy a lot of his belongings in their revelry. They invaded his house and started demanding that his wife Peneolpe marry one of them so they could become king of the Isle of Ithaka. Before his journey to the Trojan War, Odysseus encounters Iphitos, who gives Odysseus his father's bow. Once Odysseus returns home he is disgusted with the suitors' lack of respect for his family and his home. But the men far out number Odysseus, so he tricks them.

Eurytos' Bow was so strong that a normal man couldn't string the bow or bring it to full draw without the consent of Apollo. Odysseus tells Penelope to say that she will marry the man who can draw Eurytos' Bow and put an arrow through 12 axeheads. After every man tries and fails, their arms are so sore that they can't hold swords or defend themselves in a fight. Then Odysseus enters, disguised as a beggar, and asks for a chance to try the "bow of trials." After examining the bow and carefully stringing it, Odysseus takes aim. He fires an arrow through all twelve, dead center. The suitors, in fear and awe, stare at him. (NOT a good plan) Odysseus's second arrow was aimed at Antinoos, the "leader" of the suitors. "Odysseus' arrow hit him under the chin and punched to the feathers through his throat." After this, Odysseus decides to give the others a fair chance and has his son fetch them some armor and shields. Then he starts shooting at them, each arrow brings an enemy down. Finally, Odysseus runs out of arrows. ; ; The other suitors are killed by his son. Never again, did anyone try to cross Odysseus.

And that, my friends is the REAL story of Eurytos' Bow.

EDIT: Converted the Typo's back to apostrophes and quote marks.

You are quite possibly the stupidest person I've had the chance to come across. There's such a thing as sarcasm, you moron.

And just as a general FYI, 175 with an A- in the skill is level 55. ;)
RE: !!!!!!!!!!! =)
# Jul 17 2005 at 7:57 PM Rating: Decent
See, the funny thing about sarcasm is that most people detect it by the tone of one's voice.. as this messageboard is text-only, people can't really detect sarcasm as easily as they would be able to in real life.
If you're intending for a post to be sarcastic, it would be best to put some kind of indicator in your post, such as </sarcasm>, so that people will know.

Hey that's me ^^. The player that helped me was a 75 WAR/NIN. I don't know if he was NA or JP release but spoke very good english, enough that I would guess he's NA release. I am still very thankful for what he did. It was my second time camping him, the first time I had a 67 THF with me and we owned it. Soloing him at 60 is pretty hard. I can't remember the name of the WAR for the life of me, really wish I could now ><.

Anyway, it's a great bow, still have it. I may sell it someday after upgrading relic or something who knows. The 700k was my life's savings at the time >.>
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 26 2004 at 5:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you really wanna make money on this go to a server that sells it for 2-3mil then go to a server that sells it for 4-5mil and try sellin it lol just a thought if you really wanna waste your time and can go to other servers easily lol
