7 Hours with TH, im going to sleep now without my key for RDM body. Its 540 AM EST. 7 Hours ill say it again w/ TH. For those of you who got 7 keys in 1 hour. With just regular TH2, Im amazed. Forget this coffer.
When drop rates suck, come back and try again later. Drop rates have more to do with external factors outside of TH.

That's honestly ridiculous. Are you killing the right mobs? I got my key on the third kill without Treasure Hunter. I'm not trying to make you feel worse. I'm just saying the drop rate can't be that bad. Hopefully, you'll get it soon.

The Prelates like to spam Aeroga3 and Firaga3. It takes about 650 damage out of my 75 nin. Just fyi lol

/sigh at least i didnt waste too much time getting it. who knows, maybe ill take up one of the jobs that does need this ^^

Got 7 coffer keys in 1 hr. Almost every third Yagudo we killed dropped a key ^^ Craziest thing I ever seen. Party set up was 75nin/war, 67 whm/blm (me), and 66 thf/nin. All we needed was 1 key (me) for rdm af body.

I just got this in about 1hr 10min farming solo as RDM/BLM. (I intentionally prolonged the fights for combat skill-ups.) I'd say I got it in 15 mobs or so.
Not bad, really, but I've seen much, much faster drops from Jeuno throw-together test/key parties. If you need the key - or a test, for that matter - just look for a pt forming in Jeuno well ahead of when you'll need the item.

Hearing about these coffer key hunting stories makes me glad to be a thf. I can use tools, lol. I'm sorry but I think that is really funny, lol.

Where is the best camp for Coffer Keys? Near the Brass Door you open for limit 3? Down that hole?
PS. I'm pretty sure you can't get Astrals from coffers here anymore. Now they drop from a few BCNM 50s.

im a rdm and i needed the tabard (AF) which is body piece and we were killing things that drop the key all night pt set up was 70WAR,75BLM,75DRK,56RDM,58RDM,60BLM,62THF,64BLM and it took us 3 hours just to get 1 coffer key drop this is horrible i feel sorry for any1 who has their AF here and needs the key and other rdm needed the key also and im so lucky i beat her lot because pt disbanded a hour later and we couldnt get another key to drop but i found coffer 2 min after i got key cuz puller said he saw coffer and opended it up and boom got my tabard. the yags arnt to difficult undead like in eldieme and garlaige are so much harder. but gl but we did get a bunch of crappy bard scrolls and ninja scrolls and ALOT of ninja testomonys and like 3 monk testomonys which ment nothing to us.
I was helping a friend get there key from here. We got about 6 keys in under 3 hrs it wasnt so bad. Took us 3 trips at 3hr+ each to get 1 Beadeaux key tho><

Indeed.. been in 2 different key-parties today, spent a total 5 hours, didn't see one key.

I have looked for this damn Coffer chest in Castle Oztroja, in ALL of it's know spawning points.. and have done this SIX to EIGHT times.. Yet I cannot find this damn chest!!! On one of the maps for chests there are two red dots (coffer chests) in an area that I cannot find a way into... what it that??
Please brag all u want.. but if u do.. add WHERE into it huh..!?

i have been picking coffers for a little while now, and i have had like 6 successful picks, and like 6 mimics, but of the 6 picks, 1 gave me my af, and the other 5 gave me cash. ive gotten like 50k from em, but id rather an astral ring. How often do u get rings from the coffers, and does ur lvl affect it? i did this at 51-52.
EDIT: thats sposed to say gil/astrals, but i guess u cant edit subjects >< guess im stuck with gel

I have been coming here with an alliance for 3 weeks and still have not seen any coffer keys drop. I have all my AF except for my body. This place SUX!!
The coffer key party I was with (haven't gotten my key yet, sigh) camped in the room where you enter the passwords for Genkai 3.

I'm a level 67 DRK, still haven't bothered with my AF body. Farmed for a Haubergeon instead. It's a better body armor for DRKs, only 1 level higher, and if you have the patience to bother with the key and coffer in that hellish castle, then you shouldn't have much of a problem farming. Just my 2 cents though, do whichever you feel like...or both.
We got 2 keys in about an hour.
DRK70/WAR, DRK63/THF, BLM60/WHM, THF59/NIN, RDM55/BLM.
Also got my BLM testimonial, and the drops for MNK, BRD, and NIN testimonial. They were frequent drops.

The reason we don't care in Oztroga and elsewhere is because we get treated like **** for 60 levels. It's poetic justice that in the end game we never have to worry about keys and can camp coffers at will.

My friend Wolfztyr is a thf and i hope he knows about this. All the mages would love Astral Rings and damn 100-150k on my server is awesome. My THF is only 17 but damn if it was 59 like his i would go to Oztroja and stay at a spawn spot all day. Spawning spots change every 20 minutes. Sadly my body AF is here and I HATE OZTROJA!!!!

The key, itself, is a horrible drop. But that is only 1/2 the battle.
When I was doing my AF pants here (for Bard Lv. 56) I couldn't find a coffer anywhere. I had the printout of spawns and whm sub for sneak/invis.
The only way I got them is because, luckily, I happened to know a High Lv. THF that was camping coffers for Astral Rings at the exact same time. He knew that I was there for AF only, and not to take Astral Rings. So, nicely he let me have the spawn he found. After I left, he went back to camping them. Thank god for that, because, I've heard of people competing with THFs for 12+ hrs trying to take a coffer from them.

heh us thieves had to compete against other thieves to get our own AF their too... Anyways it's all fixed so it doesn't matter.

there were like 3 thieves camping spots while i was looking for my af, and a *** was opening the door with the handle combo and it opened and closed on him and he couldnt get through, so i opened it on the inside, and he said thx and then told me where a coffer was in broken english.
i'd have to be with Bizzaro on thie one, really stop whining, i play as thf, and believe me, for the crap we have to go thru to actually GET parties, i think popping chests with no key is pretty fair, and yes oztroja is bad, i actually have to go there to hunt for a coffer to get my AF as well ,only one piece tho, i'd like some astrals as well ^^

If you ever camp this for AF you better be reay to wait a LONG time for a coffer. High level thief's run these all day. Why? 150k astral rings come out of them. Thief's can open the treasure chests without a key. I think its totally unfair, for the competition against anyone who has AF chests in castle Oztroja, and because the Thfs can make a ton of money doing it when any other job can't. Nerf thief's so they can't do this, or change the AF coffers to a different spawn without astral rings that come out of them.
Ironically even though we can pick locks we spend more times in coffer parties than you probably ever will helping our friends who need our treasure hunter ability so they can get their keys. So the fact we don't need keys is actually a very kind thing.
I needed a coffer in Oztroja once too and I had to compete against other thiefs too, they cut me no slack just because I was there for AF. It took me like 2,5 hours so tough it out.
