totally awful quest. Went with a few people from my LS and some were already in area. kills were fairly quick with help and we had a 75 THF with us but STILL had to kill around 75 yagudos to get one freaken coffer key. drop rate is INCREDIBLY LOW. idk about the guy before me who said it was easy -> it wasnt. if you dont like the Visage of a dark knight armor and can afford a Haubergeon i wouldnt even bother

SummaryA piece of artifact gear lays hidden in a coffer in Castle Oztroja. DescriptionYou must have completed Dark Legacy - DRK AF1 and activated Borghertz's Shadowy Hands to start this quest. Head to Castle Oztroja and obtain a coffer key by killing yagudos on the top floor. Mobs that drop coffers include the Yagudo Assassin, Yagudo Flagellant, Yagudo Prelate and Yagudo Conductor. Once you have the key you will need to find the treasure coffer. The coffer can spawn in five places in the corridor leading up to the top floor, at I-10, H-9, G-8, F-9 and F-8. On the top floor, the coffer can spawn at four points at H-9, H-8, G-7 and H-7. Trade your key to the treasure coffer to receive your Chaos Cuirass. Had a very fun time gettin this AF piece. Just me and a lv 70 DRK went to get it. We knew it was pretty much a suicide mission, but we were gonna give it our all. We made it to the 3rd floor fought a prelate almost got wiped out and was restin when a THF stubbled upon us. She asked what we doin and we told her. She decided she would give us a helpin hand got Key in 3 kills. We hid behind the bronze door while she seeked out the coffer about 30 minutes off waiting and we found it. She then took all the yags on her so I could open the coffer and I got my AF. We got wiped out, but i got it. Moral of the story not all THF's are bad. lol
To answer an earlier question no u don't have to have the gloves just the quest started. i didn't have my Chaos Gauntlets yet.

I think i must be the luckiest guy ever i got the key in 30 minutes, same with all my other keys! I just gotta do the Af Helm. I hope i get lucky and people help me out lol. I also got Leaping Boots on my second try, i think thats also pretty lucky lol ^^

No more Astral Rings in Oztroja coffer chest, these can now alny be got by Bcnm asd far as i kno...
Slate waves goodbye to all THF's that run around there, makin are coffer hunt days there a living hell =P.
it should be way easier now good luck getting it!!!
(btw 1 of teh key droppers also dropped a Ninjutsu scroll for me wich 100K at the time ^^)

As everyone has warned, get in before thfs get it.
Ok I gotta question: I am Elvaan so I need all the acc+ I can get,right. I have RK gloves (acc+3) and I dont want the AF Gloves much, however I do want the Cuirass. Do I need to COMPLETE the AF gloves quest completley to start and obtain this AF or can I just skip the gloves?

You do in fact need to do the gloves, but I think after the gloves you can skip the flanchard and cuirass and go straight to the burgeonet. Lv 55 DRK now, havent updated my profile... I stopped lvling for the moment to farm, lv taru, and spend more time with my g/f... Sorry to all who need me ^^;
You actually need to just have started the gloves from what I understand. I think thats what I did (been a while, dont remember). But the ones that you just need a key and coffer for you can do them in any order you like.

I was wondering how the key drop is?

I say have the Thfs have a new trait that if they use tools the %age of the chest being a mimic go signifacantly up. That way thfs will think twice before opening up a chest.
Is it possible to get the AF piece when not using DRK as main job? I figured it would be safer for me to go as WHM main using invisible rather than DRK main potentially loosing alot more EXP if getting aggro.
Hahahahahaha stupid thfs. Got the key a few days ago and decided to wait to get a nice exp buffer before trying to get my AF body peice. Came back a few days later got past the brass door and let no one in. 10 min later coffer pops right infront of me. Got my af. Hahahaha better luck next time.

If you ever camp this for AF you better be ready to wait a LONG time for a coffer. High level thief's run these all day. Why? 150k astral rings come out of them. Thief's can open the treasure chests without a key. I think its totally unfair, for the competition against anyone who has AF chests in castle Oztroja, and because the Thfs can make a ton of money doing it when any other job can't. Nerf thief's so they can't do this, or change the AF coffers to a different spawn without astral rings that come out of them.

I hate this peice of armor, it took me 5 hours to get it, and on top of just TRYING to find the stupid thing many people decided just to kill today, I mean their had to be like 20 ppl besides our dinky pt there, so it was hard. I finally beat enough ppl though and dodged enough of them lil baddy birds and got it only to give it up when i got me Hauby... this armor isnt worth it but unfortunatly you gotta get it...

Yea, nerf the only thing that makes THF good, smart idea. Just because you can't get some coffer because you're much too slow compared to other people doesn't mean you should whine and cry nerf.

Why is the Drk AF the only one on this site that doesnt have details of any other AF like AF2 for example in Ordelle caves? hmmm... just wondering
You need to be quick getting this chest. There are many high lvl thieves looking for this chest. Once you find the chest, quickly remove invisibility, open the chest and get out fast.
This treasure coffer is like hunting NM.
