Not to be mistaken for the priceless hippogryph head feathers that sell for tons on the Auction House. The item icon appears to be the same and the name(s) are often abbreviated. I happen to hear someone shouting that they had a feather in their bazaar for 20k (150k on AH) so I bought it up quick. I got ripped off.
I bought 1 off of a bazaar for 10k... There is no listing in the AH anywhere... but the head feathers sell for over half a million! I'm hoping these are also valuable.

Pretty valuable if you're fighting a dragon named Ouryu. However I don't think I'd pay 10k for them. They're used for this quest. The quest title is pretty ironic.

Give two tail feathers (can be retrieved from regular Hippogryph's in Riverne Site A01) to Ferchinne and you will recieve an EX item Mistmelt to aide you in defeating Ouryu in PM4-2

Tehy are for the Mistmelt quest. Mistmelt can be used in a BC to pull a flying dragon back to the ground. Very useful for the RIverne - Site #B01 BC battle.
