I got mine on 1st kill outside Rabao as a 62RDM and I solo'd him. No TH cause I was 62RDM/31WHM.

I went with a level 73RDM friend of mine to get one of these, and we got it on the first Cactuar in West Altepa. Then we killed another one and got another for him. :) I have TH2 of course, so that might have something to do with it.

I cant verify if it does, but you are much better off (ie, safer) farming for it in Western Altepa. I speak from experience on this: unless you have an RNG who can see if a certain HNM is up, just kill cactaurs in West with your buddies.

We tried getting roots in East Altepa, and got a "MOST" dissapointing link. /cry

This item is needed for the quest to get the Jaeger Mantle. For the second part of the quest, you have to trade this to an NPC in Castle Oztroja. Currently bouncing around wildly on the AH from 3-10k on Seraph.

I got one of these wednsday.. i'm thinking they came with the update? they better be something cool... i didn't solo a cactuar for nothing. and i'm thinking these would go for a lot? i mean really, who solo's cactuar..... only krazy people like me...
