also fished up on pier in area u zone to from n.sandy and correct no longer rare/ex

Look, if you want to catch this easily, grab a fly lure and a halcyon rod, head to the dock at Central Landing, and start casting. I caught 4 in 6 tries. The other 2 were rusty items. Level 33 fishing, but as easy as they were to reel in, they have to be a low level catch.
Just fished up 2 of these in Carpenter's Landing (north), using halcyon rod and fly lure. Same pic and text, not R/E.
They are AH-able.. Listed under Food > Fish.

If you have high fishing skill don't bother with the key item. With 69 fishing and a fly lure I would catch this 2 or 3 times each trip (it's Rare/Ex though so you can only hold 1 at a time)

I rode through Newtpool four times. The second trip I caught one, and on my fourth trip I caught one.
I used a composite rode and a lufaise fly.
My fishing skill is level 0. Yes 0. I was wearing a Fishing Tunica however when i did this, which I guess gives Fishing skill +1.

spent few hours trying to fish one... it cost me ~2 multitickets with few runs to sandoria too
had fly and fly lurs, composite rod, skill 4(it was 2 when i went fishing there lol)
and i still didn't get it...

For those of you who do not know how to reach the waterways and do not make the same mistake I did of waiting 4 hours at the docks in Southern Landing, the route via Newtpool is only done from Central Landing. You will need to get a barge from either docks to Central Landing (or just run there) then board a barge from Central Landing back again via the Newtpool waterways.
This fish can only be gotten while on the barge when the NPC announces that you are passing through Newtpool. It is rare/ex so you can only carry one, however the Blackened Muddy Siredon is ex so you can go back and fish another Muddy Siredon after.

I caught one with Composite+Fly Lure, Fishing skill 10+4.
Ok you can Only get this while riding through Newtpool. The best combination to fish it up with is a Carbon Fishing Rod + Lufaise Flys
You trade the Muddy Siredon to the tonberry at the southern landing & 100g after the siredon to recieve a Blackened Siredon
which is used for a bcnm relating to CoP mission 5-3 where it stops an enemy from TP Regen during the fight.
Three of us all got on the ship to fish them for the mission bcnm, all used same rod. my other two party mates got them within the first or second cast while passing through the newtpool. I unfortunately didnt get one until my third trip on the ship through newtpool.

I used a composite with lufaise fly (108G each, stackable) and no extra fishing gear. I caught one on my second trip using this bait. I'm not certain, but I think the barge that passes thru Newtpool leaves every day at midnight from the south landing.
My fishing skill was 10 at the time, with a full moon on windsday.

OK, what has anyone fished this up with? I'm assuming just your standard run-of-the-mill fly lure?
