SummaryDeidogg wants to prove that the Talekeeper Raogrimm was no hero. First, he wants you to defeat the Quadav nest guardian in the Palborough Mines that Raogrimm claimed to have killed, and take from it the mottled Quadav egg the Talekeeper failed to bring back. WalkthroughNote: You must have completed The Doorman - WAR AF1 to start this quest. First, talk to Phara at J-9 in Bastok Mines. Next, go and speak to Deidogg at H-6 in Bastok Mines. Talk to him twice to receive a cutscene. Go to Palborough Mines, and at (G-10), look for a ???. Examine this to spawn the notorious monster Ni'Ghu Nestfender. When defeated, the NM drops a Mottled Quadav Egg. After that, go to Castle Oztroja and kill Yagudo Parasites, which spawn around H-9 on the third floor. Kill them until you get a Parasite Skin. Return to Bastok Mines. Trade the Mottled Quadav Egg to Deidogg for a cutscene. Afterwards trade the Parasite Skin to him to receive the final cutscene. Umm is there something for the new expansion that I need to take care of before I can get the AF quest?
I tried asking multiple times, didn't help, kept spamming the same msg.
Edit: I guess I started the Green Badge quest without noticing. I was wondering why I was flashing some badge at him... Ohh I'm the police!!
Anyways, I guess I'll have to spend some time talking to the 200 million NPCs I have to talk to... Fine it's only 20...
Edit: Finished the Blue Badge quest thing, then went to talk to him and he didn't budge. Then I recalled something about Phara, went to talk to her, then talked to Deidogg twice and finally the CS for the AF. Now it's time to switch to main and put a katana down the NM's butt...

just change to lv75 lol then just walk like u normaly do to coffer ones as far as the door is concern just play with the lock usualy open within first 10 clicks lol blm75 1 ga take 50% hp 2ga take 99% hp then lv1ga will kill them all lol got 1skin outta the 4 haha
Well after much debate I got my 70RDM/35BLM friend to help my with this I went as 63BLM/WHM when we got to the quadav pop point we came across a 73war and a 53 war laying dead there we raised em and teamed up for the NM needless to say we owned it but I seriously doubt my rdm friend and I could have taken it out so make sure you bring enough help. As for the skin I went solo on, not too much problem going up there except yags in the hallway before the leech room do aggro to 63. I was kind taken by surprise and died when I ran by 4 of em. But a whm R3ed me and I SNK/INV up to the leeches managed to pull just one then 2hred Flare and Freeze killed it. Got drop and got out. Currently waiting for my new boots now.

i got hit twice missed once and 1 utusemi hit before i got my third 100% tp for the last rampage to finish him off.
his cure while being weak actually save him about 1 1/2 hits where he can do 150-200 dmg although if you have a few people he'll probably get interrupted.

THF75/NIN37 Solo'd both parts very easily. Parasites couldnt hit me even with four of them on me and I never even took damage from the Quadav.
Just killed the quadav solo as a 75 mnk/nin. Used 2 hour and it still took 4 and a half minutes to kill, whenever I got hit, it was for around 110 damage.

Did this fight in Palborough Mines with RDM74/NIN and WHM70/NIN(both of us had undersubbed ninjas embarrassingly). This fight was extremely easy, we both melee and went in with 300tp, full mp. Dispel is very important, mob is weak to thunder. Just kept up enfeebles on mob, stoneskin and sneak on yourself and it should go well. Now off to Oztroja.
Make sure you have a healer when you do these. I had myself 55war and a 75drk and we got worked by the Quadav and I aggro'd all the leaches (make sure you have sneak and invis) and the drk couldn't kill them in time. Plus some random yag's aggro'd me too.

When i get to 50 what kind of party or kind of help should i get to do this quest. i really need to know.

i helped today a ls buddy with this quest, well we only did the mines part yet... other part we will do tomorrow...
well the fight in mines were very easy
setup was war52/nin (my buddy) pld50 and nin58(me)
i easiely could have soloed this one it was nuts
it hit me around 30dmg per hit LOL... even if it hit me what happened like 2 times...

I did this as DRK75/NIN37 and RDM73/BLM36. Though I really could have done it solo. I had a pretty standard evasion setup, equipment-wise. He hits hard, but with very low accuracy. My utsusemi casting never got interrupted because he rarely landed any hits. I took 1 hit for 141 dmg. The main problem with this NM is his defense. I did a 300 Spiral Hell for only 600ish dmg. My guillotines averaged 400-500dmg with all 4 hits connecting. The Yagudo parasites were much easier, not to say the NM was hard at all.
Just wanted to point out that you have to wait 1 game day to get these back from Deidogg for the parasite skin.

The wrong word was used, better to say you can find the "combination" behind the secret door. There are four levers behind the secret door, and the position they are in shows you the combination required at the levers to the second door. Most people are already aware of this...
BTW, kudos to you on your ability to pay attention. If you'll notice, the person who wrote this walkthrough also wrote this.

I was wondering myself what this person was talking about with this unnamed key being that I've been to the furthest depths of Castle Oz numerous times without ever getting such a key. I do know that I've seen Yag Parasites everytime regardless, so I'm just going to assume that you don't need any key.
On another note... Don't blame Allakhazam for this misinformation. The people who run this site simply can't run around testing everything that someone contributes to see if it's correct. Im sorry that your time was waisted, but please just send in a correction.

this ******* hits hard, (150+) but he missed me enough so shadows werent a problem, and after i started with ws>barrrage>>ws>>ees w/ bow, switched to repeating xbow cause bow dmg was like 60 per shot up close...
..bloodys were draining 55+ a hit, firing 2 to his 1.5 hits about... with the misses and shadows up it wasnt a problem, he was slowly whitlling my hp down and i ended with like 300 of 1100

He he yesterday I wanted to get AF2 since my WAR has reached level 52 so I shouted for help in Jeuno but only one replied, he was a RDM level 70 and wanted to help me if I pay 100k.
Hmm 100k I was thinking, that is a little high for a first offer so I said can you sub NIN and he said yes then I said ok 50k if you help me and he said I am sleepy, I don’t think 50k is worth my time, good luck. Ok no problems.
So it seemed that I have troubles to get help at thin point because no one replied to my shouting, then I gave it a rest and later on one from my linkhell needed help for NIN quest and a PLD 68 said he would help him and so did I.
We went to Bastok and the mines for the 3 NM and killed them really easy, I found out that I can solo them as WAR52 with NIN sub really easy, and my Spinning Axe did 555 damage on a leech. That is good to know I said.
Ohhh this storey is getting long LOL.
Ok to the NM fight, the PLD68 and the Taru WHM 54 we helped with NIN quest agreed to help me with this NM Paladin level 53 fight.
We went to mines and I quickly figured that the ??? for NM was at the Egg Room. We went there and gained full MP plus got some TP before fight.
I clicked the ??? and Ni'Ghu Nestfender popped, we began fight and realised that this mother was a toughie me and PLD hit it for about 4-30 damage pr. Hit and it hit the PLD 68 for 80+ pr hit ouch when you think of that it’s a PLD 68.
NM HP went down slowly and the MP was running out and we had it to about 1-3 of it’s HP but it used Cure III and now I was like, oh no I don’t want the PLD to die and loose allot EXP so I as stupid as I am called for help when I saw anther PLD is level 50 armour, after some time he came and helped us but we had it death almost and shortly it was killed, but here is the really bad part.
Because I called for help I did not get the drop :/
Oh well better safe than sorry and now I know what we face and need a stronger party set-up.
I recommend:
RDM for Dispel (you really need that) and for black magic.
PLD or NIN for tanking.
WHM for curing or the RDM can do it if he/she has enough magic.
BLM would be very nice since it’s high defence against psychical attack.
I think if we just had Dispel we could kill this mother really fast but have not yet tried it out.
Try level 60+ players and of course you as WAR if you don’t have higher jobs.

I just soloed this whole quest as 75blm/37rdm. The NM in palborough was a bit tricky, he resists sleep, so I used the gravity/bind/nuke method, and aspired when I could. I did about 6k+ dmg to him before I drained him for the win, and he hit me for 100+ without buffs, and interupted a couple spells. The parasite I killed was cake, and dropped the skin on first kill. Good luck to everyone.
do you have to wait one game day to get the reward? he wont give me the AF armor

Tried it twice yesterday. me and a 64 taru rdm, were owning it, and got messed up right at the end, he ran out of mp and died, and i ran and zoned, 99% of it's hp were gone.. donno what happened but it was close, second time it was me (50war) a 58 pld, and a whm. should of owned it that time, but the pld and whm ran out of mp, and i invited a 75 bst that helped near, and he barely got it, with the help of a 75 whm friend. he lit off rampage about 8 times on the thing to kill it =P

Its very EZ just get 3 or 4 members dat are 60-65 and u can do it ina bout 2hrs.

I killed the quadav with 2 level 63 rdm a lvl 70 blm 53 thf and i 52 war. We owned that quadav.
Part 2 the leeches is Castle Oztroja was fun. I went with a level 65 whm 64 mnk and a 63 war EZ first kill drop. Im from the unicorn server.

i went as a 74 thf 37 nin solo the quad. it took about 8 min. as for the leeches i brought a 75 drk/nin with me, they will link all 4 of them no matter what. so keep that in mind. it took about 4min to kill all 4 leaches and they all drop the skin. again not to bad just play it safe and you guys should be fine.

I did it yesterday with some friends. As a rdm 70, I managed to silence the mob, but sleep is always resisted by AF mobs.
The parasite skin is 100% drop. Killed two in a row and dropped the skin twice.

It's not a 100% drop but it's very very common.
I just spent over an hour in that pond with a friend who was doing ranger AF2 scavenge in there. Not every parasite dropped a skin but over 95% of them did.
So yeah, not 100% drop. But it's so common it doesn't matter much anyhow. Plus they're easy to boot so no difference.

I solo this NM as an Elvaan 75 BLM/WHM and was told that only a Ninja, Smn, Bst or Rdm can solo this at 70+.
I got the Egg and only 81 gil. This thing hits really hard, it hit me for almost 200 dmg when I had like 370 def. Pretty much all you need to do is to kill this NM realy quick if not, it will use all its specail skills.
Paralyzed pretty much owned it and you can not silence or sleep it. Stun and bind help out a lot but I think if I went as BLM/RDM it would of went a whole lot easier. I don't have fraps or anything but all I did was used printscreen but pretty much the pic shows how I killed it at the end. Pretty much just nuke the heck out of it until it is dead.
