In-Game Text

Description

Rauteinot asks you to bring him a slab of Elshimo marble (Rare/Ex). This is a rare drop off of Ivory Lizards found throughout Yuhtunga Jungle. Trade the Elshimo marble to him and he will give you a key item called Rauteinot's parcel.

Bring Rauteinot's parcel to Mulaujeant in front of the Blacksmith's Guild in Northern San d'Oria. Wait several hours (earth time) and Mulaujeant will give you a key item called Sublime statue of the Goddess to give to Rauteinot. Return to Rauteinot in Kazham and you will receive your reward, a scroll of Teleport-Yhoat.

The following real life day after midnight Japan time (11am Eastern / 8am Pacific) is when your teleport scroll reward will be ready for you by the NPC.

The Yhoat Telepoint is in Yhoator Jungle at F-9.

I got my drop today from an Ivory Lizard on a 70% moon, on Windsday, with no rain or elemental weather.

Conclusion: Keep killing lizards. It's just a rare drop.

We were out hunting the lizards commiting mass murder for 6 hours before we got a drop. However, when we finally got the drop we got a second drop 2 lizards later.

I am NOT claiming that these are linked but it was raining and it was fire's day when they both dropped. If someone else could keep an eye out for this something might crop up

The quest NPC in Northern San d'Oria is Mulaujeant, not Malaujeant. Location is E-5.

The amount of time you wait is not a certain number of days/hours. It's based on midnight *Japan* time, just like most other time based quests (BRD AF2 "Circle of Time" when you bury the ring, avatar quests, etc.). In theory, you could only wait a few minutes to get the statue carved, if you dropped it off just before midnight.

Midnight in Japan is 11 am EST (10 am EDT).
bogus drop rate
# Jun 07 2004 at 12:45 PM Rating: Default
The drop rate on this item is rediculous. 40whm & 40pld have gone there 3 days now, 2 hours each day with no drop. I stopped counting around 100 lizards. My club skill has gone from 60 to over 100 killing these lizzies. In the time i've 'wasted' here I could have mined 2x enough gil to buy the scroll. Worst teleport quest by far.
Lucky?

Same for me. As a 44 RDM with a 56 RDM helping me out we happened upon Gemini Falls by near-accident and managed to snag the item on the 4th kill.

I guess it was karma owing me for the 300+ leeches I killed to get Carbuncle's Ruby.

Oh God do I pray karma remembers me.

850+ leeches for Carbuncle's Ruby. And an LS-mate and I are planning to go together for this.

/em crosses his fingers, and hopes for 2 quick drops.

Spent 3 hours killing ivory lizards near falls and in tunnels all over yuhtunga. They died fast, but my TH2 must've been malfunctioning or something.

Lv61 THF.

Found it on my sixth lizard without th2 in a tunnel near the falls in yuhtunga jungle.
hard to get
# May 22 2004 at 5:01 AM Rating: Decent
Hi folks:

The marble is hard to get... believe me.
We go there for 2 and half hour.
we was 4 thf (40+) and only got one marble on that time, with non stop pulling. It sucks.
the other pain is the guy in sandoria. I gave him the item 14 hours again and still not getting it back. So think on that crap before starting the quest.

I was there tonight(28 pal) and a friend of mine 50's thief. the very first lizard we killed on the plateau near the falls dropped a slab. we were pretty surprised then continued to kill lizards for the next three hours without a single drop of marble. finally she had to go so we fuddled our way back to kazham.

i spent about 6 hours this weekend trying to get the slab for 2 people. all i managed was a stack of lizard eggs, stack of lizard skins, and a few stacks of lizard tails.

i didn't know about the gemini falls area. i will try that next time.

I got this quest and I'm pretty sure my Windhurst Fame is lvl 3 (unless it went up on me when I wasn't looking but I've been watching it closely). Maybe my Kazham fame is higher but I've only done the missing item on the airship quest 3 times, and no other quests in Kazham or Mhaura.

What kind of fame (area, amount) do you need to get this quest?

I may be the exception here ^^; I have heard from some people that the marble is a rare drop, but I found mine on the 4th/5th lizard in the tunnels on my way to the falls. Very weird...

I hunted the tunnel near Kazham for a couple days off and on, killing the 2 lizards that spawn there, and never got a marble. Me(50 THF) and a WHM (51) hunted the lizards on top of the falls for 2 and a half hours and only got 2 marble. This was nonstop killing, we never took a break, and were both using food to make sure we could kill them as fast as possible.

If you do this quest, do plan on it taking quite a while.
Malaujeant
# Feb 20 2004 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Although it did take a little while to get two slabs of marble, a 46 drk and me (46 whm) found 2 slabs in about an hour. Not too bad. The annoying part for us was waiting for Malaujeant to give us the key item. I kept going back for up to 8 hours, and finally just decided to go to bed. When I woke up, he finally gave us the key item, although that was about 15 hours later. Just be warned that it may take a long time.

A 48-something WHM and myself, a 31 THF hunted lizards in the J/K-7 on the plateau over Gemini Falls area for 3-4 hours before coming up with a slab of marble. The killing was slow, but it was still at least 100 lizards with Treasure Hunter I.

That's because Treasure Hunter I doesn't affect drop rate for Rare items.

This may be off subject but how do you know that th1 does not effect rare drop rates? Have you asked a programer or are you just going by what everyone else says?

I personally find this hard to believe. There is not any documentation to support your claims.
