Version Update Teaser Details

From PlayOnline.com:

From new Aht Urhgan missions to teleportation services, as well as several system-related adjustments, the upcoming version update has a little something for everyone!

The following is just a handful of the additions and adjustments planned for the next version update:

New Missions

The next episode in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mystery is about to unfold. What role does the "mystery knight" play in this epic tale?

Chocobo Raising & Racing

Issues with text display during chocobo races will be addressed. In addition, players will now be able to receive condensed updates from trainers, as well as give multiple servings of feed to their chocobos at once.

Transportation

- Aht Urhgan
New NPCs have been stationed in Bastok, San d'Oria, and Windurst offering teleportation to Aht Urhgan Whitegate. A small fee is planned for the service.

- Choco-gals
Choco-gals will now offer chocobo rentals from the teleport crystals in the Eastern Altepa desert and the Yhoator Jungle, as well as from the leypoint in the WaENom Woodlands

- Outpost Teleportation
The level restriction on players allowed to use the outpost teleportation services located in Bastok, Windurst, and San d'Oria will be lowered. In conjunction with this change, a fee adjustment is also being considered.

Chemeria, you are obviously the great nublet in this forum if you feel so threatened by Home Nation AU ports.

CharlieFFXI, I am a vet from the US launch 3.5 years ago, I levelled my first 75 back before the exp adjustment. People like you and Chemeria were ******** about how the end-game was gonna get blown to ***** now that all the noobs were gonna get a free ride to 75. Idiots.

I'm 55 levels on the road to 75 on my second character on a totally separate server: guess what? I'm f-ing TIRED of all the artificial time-wasting that is a part of FF11 which is designed to MAXIMISE THE TIME SPENT FUTZING ROUND WITH THE GAME BY THE PLAYERS TO ENSURE LONG-TERM CREDIT CARD DEBITS. I have proven my e-peen to myself already, I don't need to do it again just to validate YOUR e-peen; and, I wave my hugeness in your general direction and slap your face with it for being idiot baby whiners. Go grow some hair on your ballocks -- stop shaving them for Crissake, bald is for Beaver not Balls, Charlie and Chemeria. Qwitcherbitchin.

Personally, I like the enhancements, The chocobos at the crystals are a good way to help those that need to get to Rabao without the aid of a Mage/Silent Oils (which can be expensive). Plus is let's you save the Chocobo Whistle for more tactic times... Has anyone ever tried mounting a chocobo to escape monsters?

Also I don't go to Aht Uhrgan too much because I usually have to take the boat, because I've already used the Olduum ring, or I'm using a job that's not able to equip it. Now if I truely want, I can save the olduum ring for besieged.

I haven't done any of the missions yet, so I've got no clue as to what story is going on in Whitegate, etc...
yes i agree

I like how this update is looking so far, though I would like to see a warp taru of sorts put in Jeuno. They have one in Aht-Urhgan -- why not one in Jeuno? I understand that they'll be putting NPCs in home countries -- but that still means you'll either need to find a way to get to Jeuno to airship there to warp back to Aht-Urhgan, or you'll need to find someplace to OP from back to your home city...

It will make things slightly easier and will hopefully cut down on the lag in Whitegate.

Multiple feedings at once -- they should have implemented that a LONG time ago, but I'm happy about it. I'm tired of having to see the same CS 3-4 times when I feed my bird. Condensed trainer stuff, GOD YES. I don't need to see the same text over and over and over.
meh

Some of this sounds nice at first, but I agree that it may start to make the game too easy. Being able to outpost warp to an area like the Dunes while you are still leveling there eliminates a lot of the challenge of getting to and from there. We all had to do it the hard way before, and we all got it done. I'm surprised they didn't just add an outpost warp to Ru'Ann Gardens along with this. Getting Sea access and using the Crags is way too much work!

Adding Chocobos at the leypoint and the other teleport crystals isn't even necessary. If you took the time and effort to raise a chocobo and get the whistle, you already can do this. This just makes it possible to do the same thing without working for it. And it makes the whole Chocobo raising thing less useful. They should make it more useful by allowing a raised choco to be used in a few places where a rental cannot, like Cape Terrigan, Caederva Mire, etc. Even that isn't necessary, but it would add more rewards for those that put in the effort.

Having the ability to warp to Whitegate will be nice, I must admit. I'm sure you'll still have to get there the hard way once, at least. This kind of eliminates the usefulness of the Olduum Ring.

If they wanted to add some really handy things, how about the ability to access the Mog Locker from the Nomad Moogles, and the Mog House Storage from all the cities. With all the new Rare/Ex gear in the game, more storage capability, or at least more NPC storage for this stuff would be nice.

I just hope they don't continue to make the game 'TO EASY' there have been plenty of people that have made it by with the game the way 'it was' upgrades great but easier ways for people to power level and never have to learn their jobs... means more idiots with high level jobs.. I don't know...

I have mixed feelings on most of the above, but I am happy about the tele's to whitegate, I think that one from port jeuno would of been good enough but okay.. every town..

Welcome Noobs to whitegate, just don't walk outside the city limits..
we thought besig.. was laggy before.. >< YEA RIGHT!
Argh...

I'm so stoked about the new teleportation options, except for one thing. I just raised all 18 jobs to 20!!! This would have made that so much easier... argh. Just a thought though, when will they raise the level cap on NPC fellows to 75? Nanako is getting a little bored of being 65.

The current minimum level for outpost teleportation is lvl 20. If they lower it, it means that it will be possible to teleport to the dunes while we are still leveling there. They will probably lower the minimum level to 15... but if they lowered it to lvl 10 then leveling low jobs will become much easier.

Now, if somebody gets called a nab in a dunes party they can go switch to their 75 job and point and laugh :P

I am very stoked for the Tele's to Whitegate. Leveling my subs, scares me when I get a pt. Because if Besieged is going on then I have to hope and pray for a tele out of there. So this gives me the very nice option to set my HP in Jueno for my low pt's.

I love it, and I love you SE!!! Sweetness!

This alone will be a huge benefit, as you can now set your Home Point somewhere like Windurst, then teleport to Whitegate, then pay the warp Taru to get to Jueno or to go to your home nation (in Bastok, perhaps). Basically, if you plan it out you will be able to get from any city to almost any other city in the blink of an eye. This rocks hard, and will certainly both reduce Whitegate lag and encourage more people to spend more time in the home nations (for things like repeatable quests, for example). I can't wait to set my Homepoint somewhere else!! :D

So exciting, go go SE!
