High risk high reward, I wouldn't make these for skill ups if you paid me... well .. Maybe if you paid me.. But anyways, when you break one of these SOB's it hurts.
I'm level 49 goldsmithing (building very slowly) and, from the high risk advanced synthesis support lady, she told me to make an Aluminum Chain! I smell lots of goodies to come from this...
I could make an absoloute KILLING off of these ingots, even paying 60k per ore I can sell them for 600k in ingots. Damnit why didn't I buy it up when I had the chance ;_;
Kinda strange to see aluminium ore under goldsmithing recipes...
Aluminium isn't smelted like other (precious) metals, but instead a high current is sent through the molten aluminium ore. That makes it more like an alchemy synth with lightning crystals.
Well I wonder what crafting lvl this is? I'm currently 47.7 Smithing. I wonder if I could skill up off this? Kinda be a bridge between Darksteel. Anyways if you find the lvl please post it.
If I were you this is the last item I'd consider lvl'ing up on. At 600k / synth on Remora, seems a bit silly. Not to mention on average, I'd say ~4-8 ores hit the AH every day. Enough for two synths.
I'm sorry, but I don't think that aluminum ingot is caped at Goldsmithing 46. I too thought it was 46 so i thought I'd give it a go. I am currently at 47 and you can't imagin how much i freaked when i saw a 0.1 skill up before the synth was over with. Fortunately i nailed the synth. I can't imagin what would happen if i'd failed on a 600k synth, all because of wrongfull information given here on Allakhazam.
