Does the "'Subtle Blow'-4" actually give the mob more TP than normal . . . or does it just lessen the effect if you already have it? I've never seen a "negative job trait" before . . .
Since the spell, "Absorb TP" depends very much on how much TP a enemy has this could be a very good piece of equipment for DRK. Today I was leveling up my NPC by killing Robber Crabs in Kuftal Tunnel as DRK/SAM and I would keep track how many swings I hit the crab for and how many times the crab hit me before using Absorb-TP. With these gloves it would take less time for the enemy to gain a decent amount of TP for the spell to be effective. Although if you wait too long, your enemy may gain enough TP to use their TP move. Besides that, Attack+12 and the "Counter+1" our a good plus. Vit -4 could even be seen as a plus when using the new spell, "Dread Spikes" because the damage you take will increase, in turn increasing the damage your enemy takes.
There doesn't seem to be a really good use for this, the best thing I've read so far was for Blu(if it can wear this now) to speed up TP on the mob so they use an ability faster/more.
Another possible use would be for Drk to use in replace of Tarasque Mitts, the TP boost would feed the mob TP that they could absorb.

Tarasque Mitts +1 have -6 CHR and this doesn't. Dancing Edge is 30% DEX and 40% CHR so if you can't get heca hands this would be good for THF I guess.

other than assasin armlets, for dmg, what would a thief wear?
tarasque suck b/c of the chr-, dancing edge is 50% chr war gloves for acc+5, u can bypass that with other gear heca hands, slow on a thief? no thanks there's really no good dmg dealing hands for thief other than these.
with the counter thats just a bonus, the att is great, and subtle blow... well look at dragon harness, not a big deal, vit can be covered by the warwolf belt easy.
might not be great for all jobs, but its a great item for thf imo.

You don't really know how to play thf, do you?
1. Tarasque only suck during weapon skill. 2. Hecatomb are usually only used during weapon skills; but the slow wouldn't matter that much BECAUSE of thf's low delay weapons. 3. Vit doesn't mean **** for thf, minus or plus. 4. There are plenty of replacements other then this.
I'd really like to know if anyone has thoroughly tested these things out. They're screaming, "hidden effect". Then again, the Toreador's Cape is the pits. I'd really be curious about a possible critical hit up or something.
there not the that bad actualy... especialy not for solo RDM VIT-4 dont bother rdm too much cus most of the time stoneskin or shadows are taking the hits +1 counter is pretty good for rdm too i havent seen much rdm gear that gives counter and +1 is better than nothing only real downside to this for RDM is the subtle blow-4 i wouldnt mind getting my hands on a pair of these... too bad im only lvl 60 lol
This would actually be great with stuff like the Mamool Ja Training Grounds assault mission where you want the mob to spam tp moves.
The biggest problem with "conditional" equipment (meaning equipment that's really only better than other things under very specific conditions such as a weather pattern, or for a specific BCNM) is that there's just not enough inventory space to justify holding it for those few instances it would be considered more useful than another piece of gear. Especially when it's Rare/Ex and can't be muled.
All I have to say is, These are kind useless if you ask me. There's all sorts of other equips equal to or better than these for those jobs iirc. Crap D to begin with, -4 VIT, and -SB. What job, outside of MNK (who can't equip these anyways) would get much use of +1 Counter anyways? I dono... they seem a sub par version of Tarasque (SP?) Mitts.
