I'll have you know cracker... that when and if a tank ever goes down I use last resort and soul eater, then blood weapon. I have saved parties many times by doing this, sure I am an MP sponge but I am covering the softer members (mages). Ok um.. I am 75 DRG hades server, been 75 drg for long time... ok first off, regular hits = to or stronger then just about any other melee swing for swing, we specialize in DoT .. all dmg is about avg so we have above average swings, yet our ws's are below average so depending on what ur fighting yes we have the dmg, why ppl say mnk is better cause they get more weaker swings in per fight, if u add our dmg+wyvern yes we will outdmg most ppl regular hitting, now with weapon skills, we kinda fail but we have plently of stuff to macro to make it best as we can... on another note... people talking about our 2hr, ok lets talk about the advantages of drg 2hr shall we?
Spirit Surge:
1. The Dragoon's maximum HP is increased by roughly 15% and is healed by the Wyvern's current HP
2. The Wyvern's current TP is added to the Dragoon's and with proper timing a self-skillchain may be performed
3. adds wyverns STR to your own
4. Jump Temporarily lowers targets defense
5. High Jump causes an enemy’s TP to be reduced by a percentage proportionate to the amount of damage inflicted.
6. Super Jump causes the closest party member behind the dragoon (from the point of view of the monster) to have his or her enmity reduced by half.
7. The Wyvern's attack speed is deducted from the Dragoon's granting him increased attack speed.
8. The Wyvern's per-hit damage is added onto the Dragoon's individual attacks.
So yea, ok in pt situation where this can save the pt oh hell yes it can! for 1, in that "Oh sh^t" situation ok so main tank doesnt have hate and person bout to die, 2hr stand infront of person who has the hate who shouldnt and super Jump.. when u jump u temporarily lower targets defense which means the mob dies faster, enhances atk, atk speed, str and whatnot so, hitting alot harder, monster dies faster, yes can save a pt in a harshe situation, another thing, high jump lowes mobs tp, not the most life saving thing but losing all that tp is nice if the mob has high dmg tp moves, yes filling own hp+max hp boost only effects drg but it saves the whm/healer mp to use on other players, which in fact helps save the pt in that "oh Sh^t" situation... so basically, drg 2hr.. not benefiting a pt in dier situations.. my ***,.
ok on another note.. BRD 2hr Soul voice, yes it makes songs double whatever... yes that can save a pt by.. "Oh Sh^t we got link x3 and cant kill them all(extreme situation i know but im using it as an example) ok brd 2hrs + aoe sleep, guess what everything is asleep now ppl can rest all the mp they need while melee are provokeing slept mobs.. so yea thats also a beneficial move for pt if in diar situation...
RDM Chainspell... um yes this does infact help the pt when the inevitable happens, the rdm should have had refresh on himself the whole time and if convert not up they should still have a good 300-500 mp by the time he decides to use 2hr, ok rdm 2hr either can A chainspell escape, B. Chainspell Stun mob if needed, C. chainspell healing magic (probably get himself killed though unless pld tank) or even chainspell nuke if mob needs good dmg taken fast, so yes rdm 2hr also benefits pt in diar situation.

Well King Vinegarroon hasn't been around since JP release. He was added like a year ago or so. Maybe year and a half tops. His drop% is also absolutly HORRIBLE. We are in the neighborhood of 0/40 or so on KV. So saying that he is first to get one on a server can actually be true considering he claimed to have received it in 2006 when the mob was actually added.

If you add up all the damage a Wyvern does in an EXP pt over the course of 2 hours, it outdamages most if not all the other 2hrs in the game. One of the reasons why no one notices is it does this gradually and DoT....
yeah it easily does way more damamge over the course of 2hrs... but in general that's not the point of a 2hr. A 2hr is supposed to do a lot of *something* in a very short period of time. drg (and sort of bst) is the only exception (but bst is the exception to everything). and really, you need your wyvern just to keep your damamge up with everyone else (although the recent acc bonus helps a lot too).
What are you talking about? First off, i do more than enough damage to keep up with other DD without my wyvern out. Having my wyvern out is bonus damage, that more than makes up for weak WS numbers.
On top of that, how many 2hrs will actually save a party? Let's analyze..
BRD = Soul Voice - Makes songs work better and stay on longer. Not gonna save a party.

THF = Perfect Dodge - Makes every attack on the THF miss. Again, not gonna save anyone but the THF, and he's boned once the party goes down.
RDM = Chainspell - Eliminates casting time between spells. The only problem is by the time a RDM thinks of using this, they've already Converted and used up most of their 2nd string of MP.
The truth is, you have to know how to use your 2hr to make it effective in a "holy sh*t" situation. Otherwise, it's just a good way to get yourself killed. see: Benediction, Mijin Gakure, Manafont, Eagle Eye Shot, Mighty Strikes, etc.

1rts rdm because its easier to explain.
Rdm-->chainspell--->escape. Party saved in 2 seconds. Many other uses, and smart rdm will use in conjuction w/convert to maximize it.
2nd brd. Arguably one of the best 2 hours in game. Able to make a standard xp party cut through multiple IT's in a jam like they are nothing. Turns them into gods for about 5 minutes when timed right.
Its use endgame, in BC's, and boss battles is phenominal. Give a mnk + 52 mnd for their chi blast/threnody mob for -130 elemental resitance/uber haste the nins/add +180ish to att/+6 mp per tick...
No, it doesn't suck that Call Wyvern is DRG main only. This is what makes DRG special, all the other DRG abilities(Including Job Traits unless they have added more) can be gained from subbing DRG, and spirit surge kinda sucks TBH. @lv65 woohoo+15STR and +250HPmax +15STR isnt gonna save your ***, while it will increase your damage, you lose your wyvern, so you're losing damage from him that ignores the targets def. My wyvern does anywhere from 10-35 on exp mobs(sometimes 50 on crits), he also attacks twice as fast as I do. So sacrifice (10-35)x2 for +15str which probably doesn't even increase your damage by more than 5 per hit, and maybe up to 100 on a WS. You still lose out on damage.
hmm well spirit surge is manly intended for those fights where your wyvern is useless~ a good example of this is promyvion mea or ultima/omega~ their aoes (carousel guided missle and equiliser) literally one shot wyverns... so either way the wyvern will die so using spirit surge is an advantage there... cus you can either~ not use spirit surge and ur wyvern dies due to aoe.. or you can use spirit surge~ wyvern dies~ but u get all that nice + effects ^^
Preach on, Bro, preach on.... Just to add, for those of you who don't know DoT = Damage over Time. This means that DRGs may not put up uber high amounts of damage per hit like a DRK might but when you add up the damage done across the course of the entire battle, our damage output is usually equal to or greater than other melee especially when you factor in the damage from our wyverns.
I hear ya on the mnk head gear, who cares. Yes the mnk belts kick *** but so do the quests to get them. brown belt is 1.5 mil on phoenix and being a 55 mnk I can only fear the black belt quest.
Soo... When does MNK get anything worth wearing on their head? I see tons of great gear for every other melee like this helm, for instance, that would be great MNK gear, but, alas, we ge hosed all the time.
MNKs get a ridiculous amount of ridiculously awesome equipment compared to DRG, so really you should just gtfo... but if you wanna know what MNKs get for headgera, try looking up this little tiny mob called Genbu. He drops this helmet that's insanely awesome for MNK.
Voyager Sallet looks to be the best option for head gear, it's just no fun to get. (Most monks are used to this scenario now. LoL). Frenzy Sallet is nice, but at a heck of a cost and I'm not talking the 12mil price tag (Cerberus). LoL. At 75 you have Melee Crown (good luck :-b) or Shura Kabuto for that nice STR+.
As far as Kabuto, great for Chakra, MIGHT be good for Asuran. As previously stated, it's either STR or VIT. Seeing as I have a good amount of +STR and only moderate +VIT, I'll still macro swap kabuto in before Asuran. It's worth a shot. LoL
As far as belt quests (mentioned up above), tell me about it. LoL. On Black Belt now and have 1/3. Luckily it's the beard. LoL.
