I've read the posts but I wanted to get a direct opinion and reason. I constantly go back and forth about whether to use the Alky bracelets of War AF2. I have both. I constantly switch back and forth between the two to see what does more. It seems to me that overall, Alky does more single hit and ws damage. But then again I could be seeing what I want since I actually paid for the Alky bracelets. What do you think I should use and why? Thanks.
Since these used to sell for like 30 mil on my server (Odin) I snatched them up witha quickness when I saw they were only 650k. These things rock for macroing in str.

At least people get a shot at getting these now, back in the non pop day goodluck.
Since Rampage is STR based these rocks to swap in doing WS. STR +30% modifier.
I cant solo Alkyoneus but soon when THF is 74 or 75 I can only 4 more levels so will farm pop item and compete with the bloody RMT camping the pop item mobs but so far I did pretty good got Pallas 3 times in 2 hr tanked it as THF 70 easy with WHM 75 helping.

i'm not exactly sure about an average drop rate, but i know i went 0/2 on them.
I'm 1/1 on these. I'm a 68 Thf and got a 75 Nin to help. Fought for gil split. I passed on Bracelets he broke me off 500k. On Hades server. I don't know how much it's worth, but these days prices have dropped drastically and I can make 500k stretch.

These would be useless for Mnk weapon skills as you want accuracy more then str or you won't be doing peek dmg even if your hits are a little harder.
Anyone besides a mnk who melees in these is an idiot. Even if you're a mnk you're kinda stupid too.

the strength and hp are wonderful for dark knight....but i really must question one thing... what of the loss in dexterity? what good is all the strength in the game if you cant hit worth a hill of beans? granted...-6 dex isnt worth going off the deep end over...but these really arent worth the price tag...

Most WS are based on ACC though... DEX counts then :P

Just because you can miss them doesn't mean they're Based on accuracy, it just means you have a % chance to miss them. The WS being based on STR means the dmg is based on your STR. In this case, use sushi and some accuracy gear, and put these on for more base dmg on your WS. Any decent HL melee already has a lot of accuracy, so macroing these in will add ~100 dmg to their WS? Maybe more?

no offense or anything, but why would you pay up to 100 mil gil on these... they're good, but if you ask me, not really worth 100 million gil.... 'o'

People have a hard time applying rarity to costs when it comes to FFXI. Sometimes that's almost all it takes. These are so rare that I've never actually checked someone with them on, and I have checked a lot of people. You have to consider that these aren't mainly great just for DOT. They're amazing for WS's where STR is the primary modifier, which is the case for most melee DD's. Macro these babies in and let that ws fly.

I have the two lower level bracelets. I used the mid level bracelet during exp party last night...rampage was giving 700-900 dmg solid in the Valley of Sorrows against raptors at lvl 61 war/nin
We were pulling in 8-9k exp an hour with 3 war/nin, rdm, blm, and brd. Two war/nin had the mid-level bracelets and the third had the war af gloves. The two wars with the bracelets were giving 100-200 more dmg per ws.

This could really make a diference on dmg imo, myself just switched from snipers to victory rings (str+4) and my dmg has gone up a lot, I would like to give them a try

the NM is roughly lvl 80, best thing to fight it as is rdm/nin or bst and u should be lvl 75, if you are bst grab amigo sabotender jug pet for battle, the NM that drops the lvl 60 bracers is only 10 lvls lower, this NM is the King Gigas so i would imagine him to be really tough.

Thee havtn sold on Leviathan in last 5 months, i finally found and bought these in a personz bazaa for 16.5mil. Cant wait to use it!.
One popped on AH the other day for 8 mill by one of our servers most notorious blacksmiths, that guy has everything.

this would really hit sneak attack AND trick attack's damage due to the great loss in DEX and AGI
this is the best think a mihtran MONK can get....
also if an Elvaan monk were to get this... their STR would be out the roof...
cool item though..
its a set of three, with Gigas' dropping them..
there is a lower level Gigas Bracelet and another ne i think around lvl 50

Actually, Serpi never said this was meant for Sneak attack as a THF. SAM/THF SATA + WS screams for STR because the SAm WS are STRONGLY based on STR. As long as SATA gaurantees to land a critical WS, SAM/THFs macro on as much STR as they can get to make their WS damage shoot through the roof.
